Nice Hostel, very neat and clean, big breakfast
We arrived to Vienna. We found the hostel because of the good announcement outside. The workers in the front desk were excellent. The cleanliness great, and the breakfast awesome.

Can't get better value
Amazing hotel in the best area of Vienna. Located just a 10 minute walk to Westbahnhof, one of the main transit stations so it makes it easy to get anywhere in the city. The beds were very comfortable, the room was large and it was cleaned every day. Definitely great value for your money! Will stay again

Good location to explore Vienna
Good location in Vienna to explore the city. Close to transport links. Large rooms with a sink which was handy. Cleanliness could be improved (hairs in bed and and mould in showers) but otherwise clean. Toilets were very clean.

OK experience in general. Can get noisy after 10 pm with people coming in and out, slamming doors, listening to music, etc. Walls are paper thin. But rooms are cozy and clean, so are the showers and restrooms.

Nice Hostel close to Wien Westbahnhof
Stayed 3 nights there, the hostel is really closed to Wien Westbahnhof Railway Station at about 5 to 10 minutes walk which is really convenient for our next train ride to Munich. The building is shared with a kindergarten that really made my day when seeing kids coming to classes during the day. Booked a twin room which is really spacious and comes with two comfortable beds, a basin with tap, a large table for our trip planning and ample shelves to put our stuffs. However, the toilets and bathrooms are a little far from our room which may be a little eerie when going there at night as we suspect the hostel was formally a hospital based on the building's layout and all the rooms comes with basin and tap. Nevertheless, we felt that our stay there is really great as the reception staff is very friendly and room rates are at a great price.

Best Bed, and very Close to the Station
I was looking for a place near the station for my morning train. This Hotel/hostel fits the bill in value for money and cleanliness. It was tricky to find at first but in the end the check in process was quick. Rooms were small, perfect for me. Free wifi is a plus. I couldn't stay for breakfast but it was provided. The bed...it was unbelievably comfortable! it was like memory foam, and the pillow had the right kind of support. I had probably the best night of sleep here while backpacking. If I need to travel out of the station, I would choose this hotel again!

Great location, price and people but bit noisy
A clean, modern hostel located in a quiet side street but less than 5 min from major transport links (train/underground/airport bus) and shopping/eating options. My single looked over the courtyard shared with the next door kindergarten, and came with sink, towels, dressing gown and a comfy bed. Rooms are reached through a door off the main stairwell, while toilets and showers are shared and located on the landing. Front desk staff are friendly, helpful and willing to store valuables/luggage safely while you explore. Wi-fi is free and available 24 hours, while breakfast is €8 and available from 7-10am (depending on your usual breakfast, this is the upper end of prices on the main street as well). It's about 40 min. walk or 10 min. on the U3 underground into town (Stephansplatz). The chief problem was noise. All floors are bare wood which looks lovely but creates an echo chamber no matter how quietly people try to enter their rooms. Leaving the window open kept the temperature at a comfortable level, but sirens and honking horns were abundant. Still, for the price, location and friendliness I would definitely stay again.

Very good budget option
I booked one night in a Kaiser 23 double room last minute not sure if I'd be sharing it with anyone. My solitude was a welcome surprise. The desk staff and breakfast lady were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and included a sink, small bar of soap, towels and a robe. I slept ok. The hostel's doors and floors are noisy but the bed was comfortable. Bring earplugs. The neighborhood is lively but the hotel itself is located on a quieter side-street. I did not use the showers but the toilets were clean. I'd certainly recommend this hostel to budget travelers.

They have bathrobes!!
- this hostel must have be designed by a traveller. The rooms have everything you need including lots of shelves, a sink, and bathrobes to walk to and from the showers. The shower facilities are really good, they were always clean and the floor was dry. The location isn't downtown but it is close to a bicycle rental station.

Good value in an interesting, unusual building
Friendly staff and relatively quiet single rooms with shared bathroom. Handy to have sink in room. I had a nice courtyard view. Basic room was just fine for my overnight, in transit stay.

We loved staying at Kaiser 23. Don't use Google Maps to find it. It would be helpful to get directions from the hostel itself. We liked having Wi Fi available, we ate the brunch one day and that was fun. The location is great--so close to Westbahnhof, where the airport bus drops off. The rooms were great for our needs.

Great choice
We were in Vienna for a few days and Kaiser 23 was a great choice. Kaiser 23 frequently refer to themselves as a Ho(s)tel, which perfectly sums up what you get - a private room (there were 2 of us) but with a shared bathroom for the floor we were on. The rooms are nicely styled in a clean fashion and comfortable to stay in. Consequently the price is a little higher than you would expect for a hostel, but not significantly so. The location was good for exploring Vienna and walking back at night did not feel as threatening as would have been expected. They also provided free WiFi in the lounge downstairs which was perfect for planning our next day without distracting us from our holiday. Only negative comment would be that doors shutting and locking in neighbouring rooms can be a little noisy, no matter how careful you are, so that may not suit you if you're particularly sensitive in that way.

Budget stay close to Westbahnhof
It was a nice enough place to stay for a couple of days, the rooms were nice and comfortable. One of the showers on the first floor is in need of some maintenance but other than that everything was in good condition. Very close to the station, which is handy and only about a 25 minute walk to the centre (good public transport links if you don't fancy the walk). One issue they have (which I was told they are hoping to improve soon) is that wifi only works downstairs, you can't pick it up throughout the hostel.

The room was clean and comfortable although quite small. What we appreciated it was quiet. The showers are on the floor (out of room) but they were always free, clean and comfortable.

Know what to expect, then enjoy!
We had a wonderful time at Kaiser 23 and would stay there again without hesitation. The room was spacious and clean, as were the shared toilets and showers. We had our own sink in the room. We were a little surprised that we never got a change of towels in the 5 days we were there (but we never asked for any). A fine breakfast buffet was available for an additional charge each day -- it would have been hard to find a coffee house or restaurant that served as full a breakfast for as low a price. There was a large television, a computer, and lots of comfortable sitting space in the shared living room/reception area. We also had a small TV in the room. The staff was very helpful and the location was great -- just a couple of blocks off one of the major shopping streets and very close to subway stations and the Westbahnhof (train station). It was far enough from both to be quiet, yet close enough to make getting around extremely easy. Kaiser 23 is a no-frills place, but very comfortable. It's a terrific option for people traveling on a budget!

Only one thing missing, very good hotel
Special, I enjoyed my stay. The only thing to add would be a Gideon Bible. Especially becasue the hotel has even access to a chapel to pray. Also for non catholics.

First time stay in a hostel
The hostel was clean and accommodating for a newbie to the concept. I found the rooms to be clean and basically met my need as a place to crash at the end of the day. The hostel is located near Westbanhof metro station even though it is a decent metro ride from the center city. The bus running from Vienna Airport stops at Westbanhof and is only 8 euros. The hostel is a converted nunnery (I believe) and you can tell with the crosses above the door but it is reminiscent of dorm living.

A Home Away from Home
It was a nice and homely experience at Hostel & Guesthouse Kaiser 23. The staff were helpful and friendly and I did not feel at loss in a new hotel. They were always smiling and ever ready to help. Overall it was a great stay, however, I would have preferred a fan in the room as it was too hot this summar.

Fantastic location and a lovely hostel
The hostel has a fantastic location, literally a 10min walk from Westbahnhof train station. Very handy if using the underground and having to travel further from Westbahnhof the following day. The hostel has a lovely and relaxed atmosphere. The reception area is connected to a lounge and dining room, all very well organised and tidy. Quality of service was brilliant! Any questions were answered well and I was offered a Wifi password during check-in. Despite the building being quite old the interior was lovely and well maintained. The hostel has a lift and a prayer room. Shared bathrooms were very clean and tidy, likewise with toilets. The hostel room was very clean and welcoming. It had white furniture and there was a sink in the corner with a good sized mirror. Despite the location of the hostel hardly any noise reached the hostel room. Overall very pleased with my stay and would definitely recommend. If was going back to Vienna would definitely stay there again, great value for money!

The hotel is located close to the main train station and on an adjacent street to a big shopping street (Mariahilferstraße). I had a one bedroom room for five nights. It was nice that they had a vanity basin in the room. I knew that the toilet and bathroom would be shared on the floors but it was always clean so there were no dramas at all. The showers had separate rooms and they provided bath robes. Daily room service. The breakfast was good but pricey.

Spare, but Affordable and in a Conv. Location
The decor is almost aggressively spare and linear, but very clean. The fact that it seems to have once been a convent or other church building gives it considerable character (as does the choice to have "named" each room after an important Viennese cultural figure -- a nice and thoughtful touch). The price is very welcome, especially considering that it would be impossible to get a private room in a larger, more typical hostel at this cost. The service was efficient, although be warned: reception doesn't open until 07:00, so if you have to leave before that you may need to consider other options. The location is incredibly close to Westbahnhof and Mariahilferstraße, putting the guesthouse right next to the main arteries of public transportation. I would especially recommend it to researchers and anyone looking to save money but have a quiet lodging experience.

The room was very clean. Good location, close to transportation in any direction. No amenities, very basic but clean, mostly quiet. ( that depends on the other guests more than the hotel) Helpful staff. Breakfast ok but a bit expensive at 8 euros, not a big selection of foods but ok if you don't want to go looking for breakfast.

Cheaper compared to staying at the hotel. Convenient location, which is close to the train station and the city center. Clean and quiet room. The only shortcoming: No 24-hour wifi access as the front desk gets off-work at 10 at night. So for anyone who comes back to the hostel late at night and wants to log online, there is inconvenience. Overall, a nice hostel with reasonable price. Recommend.

Hostel was very nice and clean. It is located near main shopping street and Westbahnhof railway station. Breakfast was not included in the price, but it was possible to buy there. I really recommend this hostel.

Hostel pulito e conviente vicino a metro
Buon hostel con camere private e bagno condiviso. Personale molto disponibile e informato su come spostarsi per la città. Consiglio a chi usa l hostel unicamente per dormire e passare il resto del giorno visitando la città. Ottima posizione. Non ho provato la colazione perché mi pare un po caro il prezzo di 8 euro a persona. Preferisco spendere meno e andare in caffé vicino all hostel.

시내 구경을 위해 갈아타야 하지만 트램 정류장이 완전 가까이에 있어 좋음. 분위기 넘 엄숙하니 조용함. 옆방 말소리가 들릴 정도로 방음 시설은 안좋은 편이나 시끄럽게 떠드는 사람은 없음. 청결도는 좋음. 2인실을 혼자 썼는데 침상과 세면대만 방에 있을뿐 화장실과 샤워실은 복도 다른 곳에 있음. 샤워실이 따로 있어 늦은 시간 이용해도 편하게 씻을 수 있어 좋음. 여행 중간에 나만의 공간에서 조용히 엄숙하게 지내고 싶다면 강추. 다른 이용할 별다른 시설은 없음. 오직 조용히 잠만 자기엔 아주 좋음. 들락거릴때 프론트 직원이 있는 곳을 통하지 않아도 되니 들어 왔다 나갔다 할때 완전 편함. 아침부터 청소한다고 시끄럽지 않아 늦은 시간까지 숙면 할 수 있음. 프론트 직원은 친절하나 밤 11시부터 아침 7시까지 잠겨있음.
