“Very nice place.”
This hotel is great. The cost was extremely reasonable, and it was very clean and comfortable. It even had a continental breakfast . The front desk staff were very helpful. She told me which buses to catch and where attractions were. They were very accomodating and friendly. I felt comfortable and safe there. Better than I expected.
“Rooms Very Clean & Up-to-date”
We were very impressed with how clean and comfortable our room was. Nice sitting chair and perfect bed mattress. The room was supplied wet bar, dishes and silverware which was unexpected. For the price it was a great buy with it being so close to downtown. The outside needs a little work like landscaping and lighting or something. So don’t let the outside appearance fool you. If your just interested in a place to sleep after walking around all day, this hotel was great.
“Not a great place...”
Super 8 wasnt upto the expectation, fairly old building that hasnt been maintained well. Rooms have a small A/C outfitted which are noisy. Plus is that parking is free. Breakfast is ok, not great.
“Good value for your dollar”
Service was excellent, bath and room was comfortable and clean. Only some rug stains that could have been removed. Only drawback was parking was on a lower level than entrance, so you had to use stairs to get to car, or walk down the car ramp.
“Good for the Price”
Our expereince was pretty decent, elevator is scary, first room we got was a tad dirty but they were very helpful and got a clean asap. Front desk was helpful, they do lock their doors in the latter part of the evening so you may have to wait a few minutes if you are getting in from the Bar. Good Breakfast.Over all greeat Deal.
“It will do.”
Nice older hotel, small & that includes the rooms . Wood structure so it's a little creaky. Almost empty my entire stay. The only time there was more than 5 cars in the parking lot was during the Sunday Brunch when the parking lot was full. It is not the Empress but the price is not the Empress either. Good choice for a base of operations, some where to come back to sleep. I would stay again.
“Very friendly staff and helpful.”
It was a very nice hotel and it came with a little kitchenette which was really an added bonus. It was very clean but I stayed 2 nights and noticed that the bath tub was not cleaned out after the first night I guess thats ok. All and all it was a nice place and I would stay there again should I be in the area. It was close to town (victoria) in a central location. The rates were reasonable and the front desk clerks were very helpful making sure you knew were you were going and giving ideas on where to go and so on. Check out other places but for your money your getting a good deal!
“Would use again”
Was good hotel for the price with breakfast included, good location and quiet area. Would recommend and would use again.
“A little out of the way”
We chose this hotel because of the cheap nightly rate. It is a little ways from downtown, but there is a bus stop across from the hotel and if you leave the hotel in the morning not expecting to return until later, it's not a big problem. If you want to go back to the hotel during the day, it could get annoying. If you take the bus and you need to change buses to get to your destination, make sure you get a transfer ticket when you pay so you do not have to pay for the next bus within 60 minutes. Another note is when the bus (the 22 at least) gets to the bus stop by McDonalds, that is your exit point for downtown area. It's a short walk further down to get to everything. There is a liquor store beside the hotel, but we honestly never would have known it was there if we had not seen it. The bar area in the hotel has been closed for the past year so no worries about that. The carpet is a little worn in the rooms, but that did not bother us too much. Breakfast is your typical complimentary breakfast with cereal, oatmeal packets, bagels, and a small selection of pastries, but it's better than having to go out for breakfast somewhere.
“Satisfied with the stay.”
The break fast was good. Kitchenette did not have the stove, so it did not meet our needs. We could not get the two rooms together. One of the room faced the busy street. Hence, it was a bit noisy. Overall, the experience was good. Staff was helpful.
