“Great location, friendly staff”
Good location, clean decent rooms. Not high end but the suites are spacious and clean. Hotel has great bar and restaurants. Locaton is perfect, can walk the city from there.
“Great Quality for the Money”
We were very pleased with our stay at the Executive House Hotel. The room was lovely, with a king-sized bed and very pleasant ambience. The view to the city outside was great. It was quiet and clean and we felt safe, close to amenities and the downtown scene. We were within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping. We would very much recommend this hotel. The only thing which was confusing for us was exactly where the entrance to the hotel was when we were driving in. But the hotel staff at the minor entrances were very helpful and it really was not a problem. The hotel was a great place to stay for an overnight trip to Victoria.
“Polite & Friendly Service”
Staff was very helpful and polite, bed was quite comfortable, rooms were clean & well maintained. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back. The only things I found odd were there were no exhaust fans in bathroom and no individual heat/cool controls in room, but not an issue. :)
“Great service - great location.”
front desk staff very helpful. great new king bed. nice LG plasma tv's. great service for breakfast at Barkley's. very reasonable parking rates. location is excellent - close to everything. furnishings and carpets very dated - circa 1980's. overall outstanding choice for me - 1 BR suite with kitchen was very comfortable.
“nicely maintained older hotel”
very thing works, nice and clean, very pleasant staff, central location.
“Love the View, Love the Location”
We have stayed at this property a couple of times, and will continue to choose the Executive as it is in walking distance to everything we enjoy. Parking can be a challenge sometimes, but as we usually arrive early on the Clipper or even when we drive it isn't usually a big deal. If lucky enough to be on the harbor side, the view is breathtaking especially at night. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will return, I am sure.
“And the elevators were quiet!”
I've been going to the Executive House since I was young (so, consider, about 15 or so years), but it was my husband's first visit. Both as a new visitor (him) and an old visitor (me), we found quality of service, courteousness of ALL staff, clean and comfortable rooms, delicious restaurants (even for me, who has celiac disease and needs to eat gluten-free), helpful desk clerks, and quiet elevators. That last one is important if you have a room right next to the elevators - you don't want to hear dinging all night, right? The elevators themselves were also quite fast and efficient, and we never got stuck in them, which is more than I can say for SOME hotels I've stayed in. All in all, a very enjoyable stay, and I would recommend to anyone for both comfort and a good price.
“It's Just a Hotel”
The room was hot & stuffy, although we could open 2 small windows. The bathroom was small, the pillows sucked. Our room came with a galley kitchen and a king size bed. We did lots of walking around the city of Victoria and saw many other accommodations that would peak our interest. The staff was polite and efficient. Our room was not vacuumed in the 4 days we spent there and the dusting left to be desired. There are 3 restaurants within the hotel. The music in Bartholew's was loud. When we return to Victoria we will not be returning to this hotel. The only way we could have possibly been able to see the harbor from our room is to be on the top floors.
“Great Place, Great View”
This is a great place to stay. Check in was quick & efficient and the room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. From our room we had a terrific view of the BC Museum and its continiuously changing light colours. The BC Legislature outlined with lights was also straight out our window. The major complaint I had was about parking. There isn't enough of it.. When I arrived from an evening out I was unable to find a spot in the regular garage and was instructed to park in the Reserved lot. Not a big problem, I suppose, but annoying. The other problem, and this is not specific to the Executive house, is the noise after the bar lets out. It's annoying to hear people shouting, hooting, screaming & talking loudly at 2:00 a.m. preventing you from getting a good sleep. Otherwise, this hotel is a great place to stay.
