“Wonderful hosts, beautiful B&B, gourmet breakfasts”
This B&B is in a beautifully restored and maintained 19th Century mansion. It is a family run business where guests are made to feel completely at home. The rooms are beautiful, the public rooms are elegant, and the breakfasts are gourmet and complete with fresh homemade baked goods. I will happily return and will recommend to friends staying in Victoria.
“Beautiful Victorian B&B”
Elegantly restored Victorian with gorgeous rooms in the Victorian style. Our room was beautifully decorated with very comfortable queen bed and period furniture. Full breakfast was excellent and well presented - hosts were gracious and very helpful. Easy 10 minute access to Victoria Inner Harbor via car or bus. Located at the edge of Regents Park with many lovely homes and gardens. The only thing that would have made it better would be a location walkable to the harbor, but that would have been a much higher cost. We were very pleased with our choice - excellent value.
“Wonderful experience”
Charming hotel with a helpful and welcoming atmosphere. Staff cheerful and concerned about guests. Victorian charm with modern amenities.
“Great experience!”
Great atmosphere, great staff (especially Jenny), terrific breakfast - all-around super experience! Would go back again and would recommend this establishment to one and all.
“Brilliant.”
The hotel is beautifuly maintained and stays true to the Victorian period. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. Our room was comfortable and charming. We are already planning a return visit.
“Wonderfull Inn and hosts”
We were extremely pleased with our accomodations at the Amethyst Inn. A beautifully restored mansion, very clean and comfortable and a great location in a beautifull area of Victoria. Wonderfull breakfasts served in a luxurious dining room. The owners/hosts and their family made us feel most welcome. Wonderfull hosts that added a personal touch to our stay. If you want a pleasant and relaxed stay this is the place to be. We would definately stay at the Amethyst Inn again.
“Great Experience!”
I just spent 5 nights at the Amethyst and I had a great time. This house really feels like being in a museum. Beyond being in a beautiful location, what differentiate this B&B from others is the superb customer service. The staff is always attentive, trying to make your stay more enjoyable. One day, I couldn't stay for breakfast so they offered me a small lunch box instead ... I really didn't expect it. Location wise, it's about 30min walk to the harbour or 5min drive. Free parking on site and free internet as well.
“Victorian Elegance and Great Location”
We thoroughly enjoyed the spotless room and its full bath that included a hand held shower. The room featured a comfortable king canopy bed and beautiful antique pieces. We also enjoyed the room’s modern amenities such as a 50” flat screen TV, refrigerator, and free WiFi. We especially enjoyed the following: the Victorian character of the house, the grand sitting room as a common area, and the free parking within a gated secure area. The Inn’s location was ideal and provided a short 5 minute drive to Victoria’s waterfront area and to our surprise was also a great launch point for a stroll. We took a delightful short walking tour from the Inn through the upscale Regents Park neighborhood and enjoyed viewing the picturesque homes and grounds of the Lt Governor’s mansion as well as visiting the Craigdarroch castle. The Inn served two different and delicious breakfasts. The hosts are a family that provided warm and gracious hospitality, especially their daughter. They provided many valuable recommendations to enrich our visit. We fully enjoyed the Amethyst Inn and would stay there again.
“A truly wonderful Bed and Breakfast experience”
The hype was true, Amethyst Inn was truly a most satisfying bed and breakfast experience. The service was sincere and spot-on, the breakfast was three courses of YUM with hot beverages served on fine china, the hotel common areas of the hotel were sparkling clean even for a 125 year old house, our room was nice with a beautiful bathroom with a custom bathtub, and yes they have free Wi-Fi internet. Abel and Shelley were very friendly hosts and had plenty of information about Victoria and Vancouver Island. We wish them all the best!
“Wonderful Bed & Breakfast”
This B&B is in an old Victorian home and is just a wonderful experience! We stayed in the second level room at the carriage house and it was so peaceful and relaxing. The atmosphere is incredible, the grounds well-kept, and the family that oversees everything is just so pleasing and attentative to your needs. Don't miss the breakfast either as it is incredible too! Will definitely stay there again!
