“Pleasant stay!”
The view is beautiful. The ocean is right there. Easy walk to the beach climbing down a few rocks, not too bad. It pleases all the senses. Coffee and continental breafkfast available in the morning, can't ask for any better...will definitely stay there again!
“Great getaway”
Lunch at the Pacific Shore, what more could you ask for? Fantastic !!!! I will be back again and again.
“Can't wait to go back!”
The Cliff House Inn was a great find that was recommended to us by several friendsin different cities. We loved the location. The beds and room were very comfy. The restaurant is FABULOUS but you do need reservations. Try to get one of the end rooms - they cost a bit more but have a big picture window and a little more room. Just lovely and we hope to return soon. The owners are on site and involved and very nice!
“A view of Paradise”
It's beautiful and cozy. I wish it had a bathtub it would have been nice to soak in the tub after a long drive. However having breakfast on that cliff was priceless. I well be staying there again very soon.
“Nice little hotel on the coast”
Helpful friendly staff. Great location on the coast. Fell asleep to the sound of crashing waves.
“Hotel”
Great service, great setting, hotel is a little old and could use some remodeling, but nothing worth crying about, I enjoyed my stay.
“Clean Motel 6 at the beach”
The reviews about the Cliff House Inn are 100% true. This place isn't for everyone, but it was exactly what I had expected! Having driven past it many times, I've always wanted to stay here - this cute little inn perched on the rocky cliffs next to the ocean! Parking is limited, front desk attendants can be tricky to find, but once you check in and walk out along the balcony to your room, you see why it's worth the hair-raising turn across two lanes of speeding cars. Our room was a standard queen, the decor was simple, carpet dark green and in need of an update, and bathroom clean but tiny. You absolutely hear the noisy people staying in the room above you, and the footsteps of people passing by the balcony walkway in front of your room, but you can also hear the crashing waves, even if your window is only cracked a little. We didn't open the window on the parking lot side, and couldn't really hear any traffic noises, didn't hear the train, and at night, the footsteps die down and all that is left is the sound of the surf. The view, when the aging curtains are open, is all ocean (and people walking by :P), and the included breakfast served by the pool area makes for a lovely and relaxing way to start the day... Read the reviews, make an informed decision, and if you're anything like me, let the crashing waves lull you to sleep in spite of the aging decor and little quirks :)
“going back this weekend, lovely resturant.”
This is a charming small, inexpensive hotel right on the ocean and only minutes to santa barbara. Excellent "get away" spot.
“Our stay at the beach front Inn.”
II had no light in the room that we stayed at night, we were relocated to other rooms, one room #2 had a lot of noise, and room #10, the shower tub was gloged which caused the dirty water overflowed from the toilet with bad smell. We could not take the shower. If we stayed at the room that was first arranged, then it should be OK. I obatined an approval of Citi's credit card on 2/29/2012, the ending # is 1070, Heidi Yung is my spouse and I put her name as contact person. Based on your online "ad", there will be $100 deducted from the booking of Itinerary #144676936266.
“Breakfast with a view”
Arrived in LA airport at 6am from Australia... jumped in a hire care and drove down the coast to the Cliff Side Inn - an easy 90 minute drive. Very easy to find at end of freeway. Allowed us to check in 4 hours early which was great. Beautiful location on the coastline, and great view out back, however very close to freeway (literally 50m away). Some noise from traffic at night. Breakfast served in restaurant with outdoor (optional) seating looking out to the coastline. Great restaurant for dinner. Reasonably expensive, but quality food (certainly not normal hotel food). Recommend the goat cheese in filo pastry with caramelised pear salad. Bit of a drive for other food/services though... Overall a nice place to stay to break up the road trip. Free parking if you get there early.
