“Fantastic boutique hotel, lovely staff & great location”
Amazing hotel, very luxurious and only 18 bedrooms
“Excellent stay in Venice”
Helpful, polite staff and an excellent junior suite looking out on the Grand Canal. Breakfast which kept one going well past lunch. Easy walk to Rialto, good restaurants close by with Vaporetto stop also nearby. A great stay for a long weekend. Splash out if you can and arrive by water taxi.
“A new kid on the block in Venice”
Palazzo Barbarigo is two years old, beautiful interior design and excellent facilities. You approach the entrance by water taxi which has powered you along the Grand Canal, a spectacular water way that cannot be bettered elsewhere in the world. You could also take the water bus from the airport (€13) and get off at Rialto and then walk to the hotel but this is quite complicated if you've just arrived. The rooms are great, a wonderful shower came out of a light, and you have what you need, we particularly like a complete black out which our room afforded. There's a good bar for cocktails and nibbles but no restaurant. Breakfast is served in an adjoining room and is wonderful, eggs to order, and fresh fruit, pastries, ham and cheese all materialise immediately you sit down. We recommend this above Danielli, and the like, which are very tired and living on past glories.
“au coeur de Venise”
Accueil chaleureux et souriant, service irréprochable. Un lieu de charme au coeur de Venise, idéal pour rayonner sur l'ensemble de la cité.
“HOTEL TRES ROMANTIQUE. PRESTATIONS EXCELLENTES”
LE PETIT DEJEUNER EST EXCELLENT ET TRES COPIEUX. LE SRVICE IMPECABLE
“Classy hotel, dark and sofisticated”
Really great hotel and well worth a stay. The service was impeccable, nothing was a problem. The cocktail bar was totally gorgeous as was the hotel in general. A few things that I'd point out is they do not have any twin rooms as previuosly stated, this was a problem for us as I was travelling with my mother. This was quickly rectified and I was given another room at no extra cost. The rooms are gorgeous, but definitely dark! The mother had difficulty in putting her face on!! A word of advice, the beds are the firmest I have ever slept on and I would say room 3 was a little noisy as it just off reception area. All in all a fab place to stay. Oh yes, one other thing , arrive by water taxi- you'll never find it on foot!
“Excellent Hotel”
We loved this hotel! Everything about it was wonderful! It is a small but extremely well run and managed hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and provide excellent service. We have stayed all of the 5 star hotels on the Grand Canal including the Gritti and would definitely recommend it over them all, as none of the other hotels come anywhere close to the qualitiy of Palazzo Barbarigo. It was an fantastic experience and we will definitely be returning next year.
“Fantastic Location for a Venice stay”
Definitely arrive at the Hotel by Water Taxi ! The Hotel entrance on the land side is less than impressive and very difficult to find if you are just arriving. The staff were great and really helpful. The rooms (we only had a "calssic" rather than a junior suite) are lovely. The decor has a very Venetian feel to it, whilst being modern. The best bit about this hotel, for us, was its location, whilst a walk away from landmarks such as St Marks Square etc, we preferred the more "local" feel to the location away from the throngs of people that surround the Rialto. We managed to explore the whole of Venice on foot from here (apart from Murano, Burano and Torchello obviously) and nothing is ever too far away. Would definitely recommend the location and particularly the Trattoris in Campo St Toma (5 mins walk) where the staff were great and the food superb.
“Delightful hotel in great location”
Just returned from a week at the Palazzo Barbarigo. Fabulous hotel. We were in Room 11, which is a standard room with good views of the Grand Canal (if you stick your torso out the window!) and the canal alongside. Room was a generous size, lovely decor, great neighbourhood. Breakfast was substantial and good quality. Hotel bar prices steep, but worth it to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by on the Grand Canal. Very friendly and helpful staff (who all spoke impeccable English, so not much opp to practice my awful Italian). Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
“a recommander”
J'ai adoré cette hotel , trés belle déco ( quoi que un peu sombre ),l'emplacement est magique et le personnel trés agréable.les petits dej sont sympas et copieux.Une belle adresse a recommander.

San Polo, Venice, Italy: Home of the Rialto Market, San Polo is the busiest sestiere (district) after San Marco. For local colour, great little shops, bars and cafes, the Rialto market area is a must. Dining on the Grand Canal next to the iconic Rialto Bridge is a romantic Venetian cliché. Near the bridge, the Ca Pesaro is home to the Museum of Modern Art while 16th-century masterpieces are on show at the Frari church and Scuola Grande di San Rocco.
