“Awesome Hotel! Great Deal”

Great Hotel for a reasonable price when your on a budget. It is right across the street from the Rail Station that takes you directly to Venice for only 2 or so Euros one way (10-15min). Also it has a shuttle bus right across the street to the airport and back ( Venice Marco Polo Airport). A complimentary breakfast with very helpful service, overall great experience. :)

“Very good hotel”

This was our first stay in Europe. The hotel was booked on line from other reviews. The location was perfect. We used plubic transit and was 5 minutes from main square in Venice. The bus stopped right at the hotel's door, and we picked the returning bus up right across the street. The rooms are as described, very clean and quite comfortable. The staff are very helpful and their English is quite good. The continental breakfast was exceptional with hot and cold items. We had to leave for airport at 4:30am and the staff packed a bagged breakfast for us. Overall rating 4 of 5. Would stay there again.

“great place to stay!!!!!!”

This hotel was very well located to the train station and for buses to and from Venice. The rooms were like other in Italy a littl small but very clean and well kept. There were many small places to eat and the hotel had a super breakfast each morning. One thing that our group enjoyed was being able to use the outside area in the evening to sit and talk about the da with a few beers and some wine. This hotle was as close as you can stay near Venice without havig to be ther all night and was well priced as well. I have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone.

Because of the location day trip to other cities, Verona is one is very easy to do.

“It wasn't the way it was presented to us on the website.”

I will give this hotel more like a two and half stars.

Area recommendations
Hard to say since we didn't have time to look into our future hotel while busy site seeing.
Getting around
What to Pack - Light as Rick Steve has recommended. It works well for us. Getting Around - State near in a hotel near public transportation, such as Train / Rail station or Bus station. Events/Shows - Get your events/shows ticket or voucher ahead of time before you leave. It really save time.
What to pack
Back smart. Goes by what Rick Steve recommended.

“Close to rail station”

Rail station is across the street. Bus stop to Venice is across the street. Very convenient. Surrounding neighborhood is poor. One decent bar and a restaurant with good food and poor service. We spent our first two nights here and that was enough. The bus to Venice was great. Venice was very congested and expensive, but a must see for first timers. The hotel itself was very good.

Area recommendations
Buy a pass and take the bus to Venice. The bus pass works for the water taxis as well. You will need it because Venice is very spread out. We walked miles in the two days that were there. I would not recommend anything in the surrounding neighborhood. The one bar around the corner was okay for a quick drink.
Getting there
Take a taxi to the hotel. It's about 17 miles. We travelled by bus or rail the rest of the week. I would not drive in the larger cities.
What to pack
Pack very lightly. Even if you are not walking to and from the rail stations. I picked hotels close to the rail stations and took a taxi anyway a couple of times because of the poor condition of the sidewalks.
Must see
Just a short walk from the bus station in Venice is Campo Santa Margherita. Nice open square to sit and have a drink @ Falciani. There is an ATM close by. We walked to the Canal Grande to catch the water bus to San Marcos Square. Nice for an afternoon shop and lunch @ Caffe Saraceno. Then head north and finish out the evening in Campo Rialto Nuovo. There is a huge bridge across the Canal Grande. Lots of choices for dinner. The Antica Carbonera was excellent. Take the water bus back to the bus station and the same #2 bus that brought you to Venice drops you off at the front door of the hotel.

“Great hotel!”

Convenient location, walking distance to all the sights! The only downside, if your a big guy, is that the shower is EXTREMELY small, even by European standards. It is probably less than 2 feet squared, although the shower head is removable, which helps with rinsing. If your a hefty guy, you may need to ask for a room with a larger size shower. Other than that, I had a great experience!

“What a great home away from home!”

Love this hotel. So comfortable! Front desk staff was very helpful! The location is great! Travel to Venice for 1.5 Euro on a bus that you catch right across the street. The train station is also across the street from the hotel and it's very convenient for day trips on the train. This area of Mestre was busy alive and full of people even at midnight (we were there in summer). Anything you need, feel free to ask the hotel staff. They're so great! They had free coffee, water and croisants in the lobby. The hotel was beautiful too. Highly reccomended!

“Only if you must stay near the station.”

We got a good rate through Expedia, but our room, while very clean, was tiny. It was set up for one person, so we had to call for extra towels, an extra glass, etc. There was no tub, and our shower was made up of a shower pan surrounded by two folding glass doors. Larger rooms are available but perhaps not at the price we paid. WiFi internet service to all the rooms was "out of order" and two computers were available for free use in the lobby. The two staff people on duty were extremely nice and helpful, but were occasionally called away to deal with problems leaving no-one at the front desk. Breakfast was very basic and not particularly appealing.

“excellent choice”

This hotel has everything for a budget-minded traveler. The complementary breakfast was excellent with fresh scrambled/boiled eggs, cheses, meats, fruits, fresh pastries -- too many choices to list here. All the front desk staff speak excellent English, and are very friendly. The location cannot be beat -- right across from the Mestre train station and only 10-15 minutes from historical Venice on a bus that runs every 10 minutes. The only caution about the location is that the hotel entrance is not off the main street, but around the corner of the building. There are clear signs that point you the right way. Another pleasant surprise was free coffee/tee and mineral water ( and sometimes, pastries) in the lobby 24/7. There's a free computer/printer in the lobby, as well. There should be WiFi thought the hotel, but they were having problems with it on the upper floors -- it worked fine in the lobby, though. Keep in mind, the rooms are not all the same. One of our rooms had a bathtub, the other only a shower. The shower was also smallish -- and it's the only reason I did not give it 5 stars, although small showers seem to be a norm in Europe. I would definitely give it 4.5 stars !
