“Hotel Antico Doge An Excellant Hotel”
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying here. The service was outstanding, the staff were always very helpful and friendly. The location was fantastic with the hotel a short walk from the major sites and an abundance of shops close by. For guests who wish to use a water taxi to the airport it is literally outside the front door (very convienent if you have large bags). Also the stop at the Rialto bridge, if taking the ATVO is only a short walk away (a realitively inexpensive way to arrive from the airport). The room was richly decorated and very comfortable. The bed was also very firm.
“Le cadre vénitien et romantique par excellence !”
Un vieux palais vénitien entièrement rénové et dont le style 19è siècle a été conservé... Un hôtel dont les propriétaires ont su restituer le cadre d'antan tout en le rendant vivant et agréable à vivre... De plus, un personnel très serviable... Vraiment, un séjour très agréable ! La cerise sur le gâteau : en plein centre historique, à proximité de tout !
“Exceeded Expectations”
The Hotel Antico Doge made our stay in Venice a trip to remember; it exceeded our expectations. It is situated in the heart of everything we wanted - shopping, eating, people watching and is in walking distance of many major sites. We felt we were a part of a great Venetian neighborhood. The pictures on the website fall short of the actual beauty of the Antico Doge. It was like a small rambling mansion that was fun and interesting just walking to and from your room. It is a small boutique-ish hotel with a feel of opulence from its marbled well lighted grand entrance to the damasked covered hallway walls and well appointed rooms. Our room was “European large” (203) with a windowed sitting room overlooking the square. It was quiet at night in spite of the square below. The bathroom was spotless, modern and supplied with fluffy towels and toiletries. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows were rock hard; I suggest you pack your own. A computer station was right outside our door and an internet café is next door to the hotel. The breakfast room is very pretty and well attended and provides typical European fare. It is a perfect setting for group of women as a “Girlfriends Getaway.” I’ve travelled Europe alone and would feel safe at this location and this hotel. The concierge service was great they booked tours and arranged taxi service to the airport at 5:30 am. The taxi, though expensive about 120 euros, picked us up on the canal just a few yards from the front door.
“Very good hotel”
The hotel is situated at a nice square in front of a canal. It is near Rialto Bridge and Saint Marco Square. There are shops and restaurants. We could walk everywhere. I highly recommend it.
“Si je retourne à Venise ce sera dans cet hôtel”
Très bon accueil, de plus le personnel fait un effort pour parler français. les chambres sont grandes et propres. A 5 minutes du Rialto et 10 de la place St Marc.
“Perfect location”
The hotel is in a perfect location to explore Venice. It is on a small canal so if you get a private water taxi it will drop you off right outside. There are also gondolas outside. Like most of the average priced hotels, they do not look much from the outside and few have brilliant views but Antico Doge is a small but lovely hotel as a base. Our room was a good size, however the shower room was a bit small but clean and well decorated.Clean bedding and towels every day.
“Very impressed with hotel!”
Excellent stay, hotel was lovely, we had the superior room and for the price, again excellent value for money. Staff very friendly (only 1 receptionist not as approachable but still ok) It is a shame there was no bar or restaurant but for the price - you cant have everything! Would definetly go back to the same hotel
“emplacement idéal”
très bien placé,un peu à l'écart de la faune, donnant sur un petit canal,un pont et la place St Apostoli,aérée ! (bon pour les clostros !)beaucoup de petites osteria autour. Quartier animé le soir, agréable de ce poser sur la place ou au bord du canal avant la nuit.Une fois dans la chambre plus un bruit!.deco style vénitien.Si vous arrivez depuis l'aeroport, le bateau taxi (cher) vous dépose devant l'entrée, magique !
“Beautiful Hotel for our honeymoon”
Although this hotel cost more than what I usually pay, our room was very beautiful, and it was a nice splurge. The size of the room was a little larger than the typical European room, but the furnishings were beautiful, and the marble shower was huge by Italian standards. The breakfast was typical--meats, cheeses, breads, pastries and cereal. The hotel was located in a nice quiet neighborhood a short walk away from some of the major sites. It is about a 5-10 walk from the Rialto bridge and a 10-15 walk from St. Mark's. If arriving by vaporetto, get off at the Ca D'Oro stop, and it's about a 5-10 walk to the hotel.
“Can't wait to go back!”
A really great hotel! It was perfect for our honeymoon and so closs to everything.
