Nice hotel close to Rialto bridge and St. Mark SqPosted 7-Apr-2014
Pros: Location, service and their buffet breakfast.
Cons: Provide in-room free wi-fi.
Location: Excellent location. Just a few minutes walk to Rialto bridge, fish market, water bus stop and St. Mark Square.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The quality of their buffet breakfast exceeded our expectations. Room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Their beds were very comfortable. Will definitely stay there again when we return to Venice.

Excellent central locationPosted 5-Apr-2014
Cons: Tea & coffee in room
Location: Excellent location, centrally placed to explore Venice
Great location, just a few minuets walk to Marks Square and Rialto Bridge and many local restaurants. Staff very helpfull and happy to make bookings and check availability of attractions. Hotel was spotlessly clean and whilst room on the small side it was more than adequate. Breakfast had a good choice to suit most tastes.

2nd time staying at this hotelPosted 26-Mar-2014
Great hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast and coffee, great location and a beautiful hotel. The rooms are beautiful, but small. If you are looking for a big room, be sure and request it. the hotel is very hard to find, so be sure and get detailed instructions on how to find it before arriving in Venice.

Center of activityPosted 25-Mar-2014
Pros: A few minutes walk to Rialto bridge and the central market
Location: Food, wine, sights and food, wine, sights
The first challenge will be to find the hotel. But once you locate it, your stay will be enjoyable. Rooms are very well an outed and the staff is professional. Buffet breakfast is very well done. Although it's difficult to find the hotel the first time, it's some of the intrigue of Venice, getting lost. Some of the major landmarks to look for when trying to locate hotel. The Armani store, Campo San Lucas and Serenissima hotel(the folks at the counter will point you to the Al Codega since they are sister hotels)

Nice Hotel in great locationPosted 24-Mar-2014
Pros: -The location -The staff -The rooms
Cons: - Nothing
Location: As stated already the hotel in very well located for all the main attractions, being between Rialto and Piazza St Marco.
Just returned from amazing four days in Venice, staying at Hotel Al Codega. We had no difficulty locating the Hotel using the map from the hotel in the conformation of booking e-mail. We got the orange line from Marco Polo airport to Rialto and then just went down the street straight in front of the stop, straight on at the next junction and then right into Campo St Luca. There is a H&M shop at the left hand corner of the square and you go down the street to the left of the shop and at the end by the Armani shop turn right. The first archway on the right with 'Corte del forno vecchio' over it is the entrance to the courtyard with the hotel at the back. The staff were very friendly and informative, the room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast had a good variety of options on offer. The location of the hotel made it easy to access all the places we wanted to either walking or by Valporetto. Amazing break and the hotel certainly had a good part to play in that! The best times we had were just walking and getting lost, finding amazing quiet streets and squares away from the masses with lovely little places to eat/drink and watch the world go by!!

Great placePosted 19-Mar-2014
Great hotel, great location. It was hard to find, but worth it! Staff was helpful and even alerted us to situations we would not have know to watch for (validating train tickets). We will certainly stay there again.

Location: What do I need to say other than Venice is on your doorstep!
Enjoyed a 3 night stay here recently for the carnival and would highly recommend it, great location and very pleasant staff. Request for kettle and cups etc in room was met very quickly. Breakfast was very good, plentiful and great quality. The hotel was spotless and the beds very comfortable.

Comfortable hotel, perfect situation.Posted 2-Mar-2014
Pros: The staff were very helpful and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed making the stay memorable. Nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: A list of good eating places for an evening meal would have been appreciated.
Location: The hotel is ideally situated for exploring all the major tourist spots: Rialto, St Mark's Square, the Bridge of Sighs etc. All are within 5 mins walk
We received a warm welcome from the receptionist on arrival and each time we handed in the room key. The intimate breakfast room served a wide and plentiful variety of fresh food and drinks. The bedroom was comfortable and quiet, a pleasant place to be after hectic expeditions.

Nice quiet hotel near all the sights and soundsPosted 2-Mar-2014
Pros: How quiet the courtyard is and the close proximity to the attractions
Cons: Nothing I can think of
Once you get used to wear you have to walk to get to the hotel, it was a great thing on two points 1) it is on a quiet courtyard so you get away from the crowds and noise 2) it is still close to everything you want to experience in Venice The breakfast area was nice and I love the small sandwiches. I will definately stay there again

Very Good Hotel with Some ShortfallsPosted 14-Feb-2014
Pros: Service, beautiful property in a convenient location.
Cons: Wifi availability, amenities, unable to change money.
Location: Location is perfect - within a quick walk of San Marco, the Rialto, Accademia, terrific restaurants. Enclosed by a typically Venetian courtyard.
Beautiful hotel in a picturesque courtyard, Codega is a jewel. Reminds me a bit of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, a pristine church amongst the behemoths. Service is super - every person I encountered understood how to make the guests feel welcome, and much more than than that - there's a genuine warmth coupled with a wealth of knowledge, candor and language skills. Comfort. So why not 5 stars? Wifi is included in the the price - not free as people may represent - and we all rely on wifi for business, family communication, reservations, event research, etc. My wifi was mostly down for 4 days of my 8 day stay. That can't happen, especially since the issue appeared to be isolated to my room (or hotel section - not sure). To be fair, wifi was available in the common area and I was able to meet my online needs. Also, toiletry amenities are not up to par for a 4-star property - no moisturizer; shampoo and soap subpar. That stuff is important when you're away for an extended time. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Codega - the important things, terrific room and great service, were totally covered. I'll return.
