THE best kept secret in VenicePosted 12-Nov-2013
Location: Great location about halfway between Rialto Bridge and St. Marks Square. Easy to walk or take the boats all over Venice from here.
This hotel is the best - once you find it. We walked past the little alley that leads to the hotel several times until a nice Italian man (who looked exactly like Anderson Cooper) rescued us and took us to the alley entrance. Once inside, this boutique hotel was a pure delight. Helpful staff, clean, comfortable and a great breakfast including freshly made apple strudel.

very convenient.Posted 31-Oct-2013
Pros: Breakfast and an elevator.
Very nice hotel. We had a hard time finding the hotel; however if you follow the map they send you by not worrying about the names of the streets it is easier. From the Rialto Bridge you walk along the side of the building to a short ally type way that is covered and turn into the courtyard only a few feet away. The breakfast was wonderful, the best of any European hotel we've stayed in. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Always welcoming with a smile. This hotel is halfway between the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square. Less than 10 minutes from either way. There is also a grocery store off the beaten path only 5 minutes from the hotel. A little exploring and you will find it. We will stay here again if we ever get back to Venice.

Very very very well hidden treasurePosted 27-Oct-2013
Well the hotel was near on impossible to find. It is kind of behind Campo San Luca, but to access it you have to go to the Armani building, then up the street where you see an entrance to a courtyard, the hotel is in there. Once settled, the hotel staff are very knowledable and assisted us greatly with location of laundromat and Post Office. Location of hotel (area) is pretty much between Rialto and San Marco so perfect spot (just hard to find) The location was perfect, staff were extremely friendly and happy and well informed And the breakast, OMG!!! However we were Unable to adjust temperature settings and maybe need a more detailed map to find the hotel (or worded directions) Location was perfect, couldnt have asked for better. 5 minute walk to rialto (if walking slow like we were) and barely 2 minutes to San Marco

Lovely hotel close to attractionsPosted 27-Oct-2013
Pros: Liked everything about this hotel, we could not fault it.
Location: You are close to all the attractons at St marks, and also Rialto.
Loved everything about this hotel, the location, the staff, our room, the breakfast. Some people have struggled to find their way to this hotel, but if you follow the map provided by the hotel you should be ok. The staff were always very friendly and helpful answering any questions that we had. Our room was comfortable and clean with a lovely dressing area and a smart bathroom. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of choice, cereals, pastries, fruit salad, scrambled eggs and bacon, breads, meats, cheeses, juice. tea and coffee, and lots more besides. We were full for the day after breakfast. The location is close to St marks and Rialto which is perfect for all the main attractions. There are plenty of shops and restaurants close by too. If we ever return to Venice we would not hesitate to stay at Al codega as we had a perfect stay.

Nice centrally located hotelPosted 23-Oct-2013
We stayed two nights at this lovely hotel. Had a bit of time finding it, kept going in circles but eventually we got there. Service was for the most part excellent. When we first arrived we approached the desk with some questions and were told by the female clerk to go out and discover Venice and not to worry as we had plenty of time before our departure to request information. This kind of threw me off for a bad start as she did not appear busy at this time, we, being the only 2 guests in the lobby. This though, was the only negative thing about Hotel Al Codega. Breakfast was very generous and staff at this time very pleasant and friendly. The hotel was centrally situated for touring Venice. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Dale and Diane
