Central location

Posted 4-Jan-2015
Cons: The bathroom was small, but that is what you expect in cities like Venice.
Location: We had a lovely meal in Ai Mercanti and a great night at the Venice Jazz Club
Central location. A short walk from Saint Mark's square. Room was larger than expected and had a luxury feel to it. The staff were always available and always friendly. The breakfast was lovely. Lots of unusual bits alongside more regular continental offerings.

Good hotel very close to St Mark's Square.

Posted 27-Dec-2014
Pros: Staff, breakfast, location and room.
Cons: Map giving location of the hotel.
Location: Good location near to the grand canal. Watch prices in restaurants. We paid 100 euros to share a sea bass!!
Lovely hotel, good breakfast with plenty of choice including scrambled eggs. Difficult to find initially in the dark. However the easiest way from the Rialto Bridge is to make for Campo S Luca. Once there stand facing the H & M store and walk down the lane to the right of the store. Further along this lane you will see a shoe shop called Outlet on the right. Opposite this shoe shop is a lane to the left walk a couple of of steps and you will see an entrance on the left leading to the hotel courtyard .... Easy when you have done it once or twice.

Cosy hotel, perfect for couples.

Posted 24-Dec-2014
Pros: The manner of the staff, breakfast had a wide variety, and very clean.
Cons: Room service prices were extortionate, 3 euros for a cup of tea. No kettle provided in room.
Location: Excellent location, supermarket 2 minutes walk away, many restaurants nearby with major attractions in walking distance
very friendly hotel, perfect location between major tourist sites, beautiful bathroom, however the rooms are not sound proof despite the hotels claims, you can hear others in their rooms if they are being slightly noisy!

Good location, small rooms,excellent svc+breakfast

Posted 12-Dec-2014
Good location: Near almost all important attractions in Venice(St Mark's Square, Rialto Bridge), but may be hard to locate the entrance of the hotel on the first day, as it is nicely hidden inside a courtyard, away from the busy streets. Small rooms: Perhaps similar to other establishments in Venice, the room was indeed small and always kept the room toilet doors closed as our noises are very sensitive and can pick up slightest smell of the sewage. Excellent Service+Breakfast: The reception and dining area staff provided excellent service and we could feel that they have a strong sense of ownership to this property. For breakfast, the quality of food was good and some variation of offerings were observed. Recommended.

A hidden gem

Posted 9-Dec-2014
The Al Codega is situated in a small courtyard, off what may best be described as an alley. Once found it is easy to see what a superb location this is, as it is just but a short walk to St Mark's Square in one direction, a slightly longer one to the Rialto Bridge in the other. There is a good selection of cafes and restaurants in the area, at prices to suit most pockets. The hotel itself is extremely clean, warm and welcoming. Rooms are well decorated. The breakfast room is small but adequate, and the staff are attentive without being overbearing. The breakfast buffet was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and would recommend it.

sopra la media

Posted 3-Dec-2014
