Beautiful hotel close to the Venice portPosted 19-Jul-2014
Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. We walked to the hotel from the port after our cruise. It is right by the train station. Excellent breakfast. The staff was very welcoming and offered us breakfast when we got there at 11 am even though the check in time was 2. They got our room ready soon, while we relaxed in the beautiful lobby. The staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations. Would not dream of staying anywhere else next time we go to Venice.

A True GemPosted 2-Jul-2014
Location: Very central to everything
At some stage of its life this hotel was an Abbey and still retains many features from that time, the staff are extremely friendly and really helpful. It is situated up an ally and only 50 or so metres from the main cannel and only a few hundred metres from the main railway terminus. It has a most beautiful relaxing garden where you can have breakfast or just sit and have a quite drink. This is one for the romantic's no matter what you age and don't forget to have a look at the most beautiful church next door, it is awesome.

Pros: Very helpful and pleasant staff, large quiet room, good location.
Enjoyed the cool quiet room in a very hot stay in Venice. Hotel was a sanctuary from the heat and crowds.

Boutique hotel close to the railway stationPosted 2-Jun-2014
Pros: Historic site at a quiet location with comfortable rooms
Cons: The breakfast arrangements
Location: Very close to the railway station and grand canal
The staff were friendly when we checked in and offered us umbrellas when we went out for dinner, in case of showers. The hotel is of interest because it is actually an old abbey. The rooms were comfortable and the hotel has its own small private garden, which is very unusual in Venice. The only disappointment was breakfast when the restaurant was frankly overwhelmed, it being too small to handle the rush that occurred. This early morning rush is somewhat inevitable in Venice because most visitors have to be ready for their days tours, which all seem to start at the same time..

Nice, quiet and close to the actionPosted 29-May-2014
Pros: A charming hotel just off the Grand canal and in easy reach of everything you need. This is a former monastery retains some of the original character.
Cons: The breakfast is good and you can eat out in the court yard (watch out for the pigeons - only draw back of eating outside).
Location: Buy a water bus ticket and all of Venice is available to you. 5 minutes from the Bus and Train stations
We had a three night break in the city and this is just enough to get a feel for Venice. It was a lot busier than expected which was frustrating at times. The street sellers can be quiet pushy and are everywhere. The Abbazia Hotel staff were very helpful without being under your feet. Ask them for recommendations when eating out. The food, service and atmosphere can be better and cheaper in the less touristy parts of the city.

Good hotel close to all facilitiesPosted 28-May-2014
Pros: Nothing to dislike. Staff good, rooms comfy and location good.
Our second visit to this hotel and it is still excellent. Hotel is close to railway station and bus station and handy for the water buses - easy to get to all the sites. The hotel itself is in a quiet side street and was originally a monastry so there are some nice features inside. Nice garden in middle to have breakfast in if you wish. Plenty of restaurants around the hotel and other shops. Staff are friendly and the rooms are comfortable. Will defintely stop there again.

Quiet hotel near the train stationPosted 26-May-2014
Pros: Quietness, great staff and close to train station.
Cons: Breakfast buffet.
Upon our arrival Matteo greeted us and was so very helpful through out entire stay. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants, sites and other arrangements. The spirit of the hotel was maintained from its original interior design and made for a comforting setting. The outdoor courtyard was exploding in color from blooming flowers and plants. I was amazed how quiet it was despite being so close to the train station and the nearby hustle of the main street. My only disappointment was the breakfast as my expectations are not generally high for these "breakfast included hotels" but I did not expect canned fruit cocktail on the buffet. The layout of the coffee, cappuccino, juice machines were a bit of an entanglement with people but perhaps it may have been their only option with outlets. That was truly the only negative I can think of. I would definitely stay again!

Very nice hotelPosted 14-May-2014
Refurbished but left the taste of the monastery. Great location next to the train station. When in Venice this is where I would stay.
