“Very Nice”

Very good find! Close to the train station but off the main drag so it's quiet. The man at reception was excellent! (Matteo I think) Beautiful rooms with a nice garden to relax in.

“Great choice; would return!”

This inviting hotel is ideally situated near the train station and within steps of the water bus. It is very easy to find. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our superiour room was spacious and had a view of the gardens. The hotel has a quiet ambiance. It is perfect for a multiple day stay in Venice.

“will be back”

Very impressed with this hotel. Staff was very helpful with local information. Excellent location, convenient to the Piazzale Roma, the port and the train station. Very comfortable rooms with a large sitting area in the lobby of the hotel.

“Great Choice”

The staff at Abbazia were very friendly and helpful. The room overlooked the court yard that had beautiful shrubs and a large flower tree. This did attract a lot of chirping birds but the scenery was worth it. The hotel was a perfect location for us. Just one water bus stop away from the last car park area, 3 minutes away from the train station and at the beginning of the Grand Canal yet in a quiet lane away from the main pedestrian traffic. I highly recommend this hotel.

“Exceeded Expectations”

We booked the Abbazia because of expedia reviews and its proximity to the bus station (arrival via RyanAir/bus transport) and train station (departure) and were definately not disappointed. From the bus, go over a small bridge, follow the canal to the left and cross the Scalzi bridge (about 5 min.) Looking ahead and slightly to the right is a Pizzeria. Immediately to the right of it was a very narrow alleyway with some hotel signs on the side wall. The hotel is tucked away on the left side down this narrow street. Even though we arrived around 9:30 am, we were told our room would be ready in about 1/2 hr and invited to help ourselves to the breakfast buffet while we waited. The room was very nice - not overly large but more than adequate for our 1 night stay, and the window opened up to a quiet inner courtyard. The updated bathroom was lovely with a large shower (no tub but that was not a concern for us). The entire hotel was very clean and being an old monastary, many of the walls were covered in polished wood. We had a leisurely walk to St. Mark's Square but did take the water bus back. Our only disappointment was our return to the hotel after a long day of walking and looking forward to ordering a drink in the large lounge/siting area, only to learn that the bar is not open on Mondays as the person who tends it has that day off. Otherwise, staff were very friendly and helpful. The train station was about a 3 minute walk away.

“Just as advertized”

Very close to the train and bus station. Half a block from the bridge and a vaporetto stop. Wonderful location in a vibrant area. Lots of nice shops and restaurants in Canareggio(less expensive than St. Marks) but very easy to walk (30 minutes) to St. Marks square or by water taxi (10 minutes). The hotel is clean, full of character and has a terrific Breakfast. Very helpful English speaking staff, arranged transport to airport and gave good advise on walks as well as maps. Would stay there again if in Venice.

“Great hotel, would definitely return”

We had a great stay at this hotel. The front desk staff were very welcoming, extremely helpful and made a point of having our room made up quickly, although we arrived early unexpectedly. Our room was spacious and elegant. Great location, particularly if you are arriving by train.
