Convenient location but a little wornPosted 30-Mar-2014
Pros: Location to train, price, wifi access.
Cons: Our room needed a makeover.
Location: Super close to the train station.
Great location convenient to train station, but our room was on an upper floor making it very warm and in pretty rough/beat up shape.

Great location, friendly staff, lovely hotelPosted 24-Mar-2014
Pros: Room size, staff friendly, excellent location near Ferrovia
Cons: Clearer how to use the in-room air conditioning
Location: All the delights of Canareggio!
The Hotel Abbazia is a bit of a hidden gem. Really nice decent condition inside, surprisingly good sized rooms which were extremely comfortable and well kept. The staff were really friendly and kind throughout. They gave some excellent recommendations for restaurants of the beaten track, and looked after my party very well. Thoroughly tasty breakfasts too. All in all I thought it was very good value and contributed to an excellent stay in Venice for four days.

Far from the madding crowd !Posted 14-Mar-2014
Pros: Quiet corner away from the crowds . Plenty of public space including a secluded garden
Cons: Bedrooms still look a bit tired but bathroom was magnificent . Could have done with a couple of chairs rather than have to sit on the bed .
Location: Very easily accessed on foot from the station , the Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto . Very close to all the main vaporetti routes and restaurants .
Enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Abbazia . We had been here before ......4 years ago and were impressed to be received by Marco on reception saying ' I recognise you ' . Like the peace and tranquillity of the place in spite of its proximity to the crowds around the station and the vaporetti stops . Reception staff are friendly and helpful . Breakfasting arrangements are relaxed and the room large enough for guests to circulate comfortably .

Excellent location!Posted 18-Feb-2014
Pros: Excellent location Very helpful staff
Cons: Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Fresh juices at breakfast
Location: Pretty much right beside the train station... Ferrovia water bus stop seconds away as is lots of shops, restaurants and stalls etc
Fantastic location :) No tea/coffee facilities in the room which was a bit of a pain, but staff helpful in giving hot water for use to make a cuppa if you had some with you. Breakfast ok, nothing to write home about though... Be wary of the juice in the machine... Pretty awful stuff!

Convenient, and a good valuePosted 4-Jan-2014
Pros: The staff was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! Friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. Some of the best service ever.
Cons: The room decor. Old and depressing.
Location: Train station and Piazzale Roma
I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the train station and Piazzale Roma as I had a super early flight the next morning. Our stay was very short (1 night) and I am grateful for that. The public areas of the hotel are good and clean. But the room was old and a bit musty as the walls and closet doors are upholstered. The bathroom was smallish and the worst part was the diminutive stand-up shower. However, the staff is amazing and so friendly. I would only use it if you are in a similar situation as mine.

Nice HotelPosted 17-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel is clean and welcoming. Staff the best you can find. Reception’s staff (with one exception) excellent . Double room, although standard , was satisfying with a clean modern bathroom. Breakfast more than satisfactory. Location superb. What can be said more!! If I return again to Venice I will definitely stay again at this hotel. All good reviews on this hotel are very much true.

Best Staff in Italy for HotelPosted 10-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is right by train and bus station, so very convenient. Breakfast room was great, wonderful food. Staff at front desk and other places in hotel were top notch, very helpful and made our visit wonderful. They helped with transportation, and useful maps to find our way around Venice. They also had reading room where I could work and use hotel internet service. Wonderful property.

Amazing placePosted 2-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
The Hotel Abbazia is an amazing place to stay. You have a real sense of history in this building that used to be a monastery. The location is convenient to the train station and the staff is very helpful. I highly recommend this place.
