“Domina Home Ca Zusto Hotel in Venice; IMPORTANT: STAY AWAY FROM FOREXCHANGE”
We stayed in Domina Home Ca Zusto in September. Very nice small hotel. Breakfast was lovely, especially cappuchino. We walk to St. Marko square (in a good weather there are orchestras playing in three places from 10 am till 11 PM), Jewish Ghetto, to the islands, and many museums and palazzos. Very important: when traveling to Italy, especially to MILAN, exchanges some cash in USA and then in Italy take some money from the ATM. In the airport there is only FOREXCHANGE that charged us 17.9% commission plus EUR 4.90 for transaction; their rate was much higher than we were charged by USA bank (after we withdraw money from ATM) or by VISA. On the Duomo square there is another FOREXCHANGE office that charged us 18.90% commissions plus EUR 4.90. Unfortunately we realized about commission charge after the second transaction. In Venice there are many exchange places and some charged 4 - 6 % plus much lower transaction fees. But the best, just take money from ATM or pay with credit card - much, much cheaper.
“TB accueil, très disponbles et attentionnés”
Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés
“Un choix idéal pour sa situation et son personnel”
Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans cet hôtel où le personnel est francophone, discret et souriant. Chambre agréable, petit déj sympa et surtout un hotel qui ne s'affiche pas (difficile même de trouver l'entrée qd on arrive par le mauvais côté...) à l'écart des zones hyper fréquentées. Un très bel endroit que nous recommandons chaudement
“Nice clean well-maintained hotel on a quiet street”
Very pleasant nice clean hotel, fully recommended! Complimentary breakfast, satellite TV with lots of channels, friendly staff, quiet location, tasty authentic Italian restaurant food, Museum of Contemporary Art nearby...What else is needed for a perfect getaway?
“Beautiful!!!!”
Venice was the last stop in our visit to Italy. We loved our hotel in Rome, as well as this hotel! Domina is just beautiful with the bright colors, great location, and wonderful staff! The breakfast was good, and complimentary internet on the 1st floor. We would definitely stay here again! :)
“In love wiith the Domina and Venice”
We fell in love with this boutique little hotel as we did with Venice on the whole. Tucked away in a little side street, the hotel is like a diamond in the rough. We loved the colours used throughout the hotel and it appears each room has it's own theme. We stayed in room 004 which had a green/olive theme to it. The room was beautiful... comfortable bed, air conditioned, all the creature comforts one could ask for. The buffet breakfast served on level 1 had a great selection of pastries, cold meats, fruits, cereals, juices, cheeses and scrambled eggs and bacon. The staff were extremely friendly and always on hand to offer advice and point you in the right direction. The hotel provided us with a map of the town as well, marking out things to see and do. We only spent 2 nights here, but they were 2 unforgettable nights and upon check out, the staff even allowed us to leave our luggage with them as we spend the last few hours shopping :)
“Small but has Class”
Not the easiest hotel to find but get off the Vaporetto (Route 1) at Riva di Biasio and turn left and walk until the path turns inland, hotel is about 50 yards on the right. Hotel staff very helpful; the hotel itself is situated in a quieter area which makes a refreshing change from the hustle of the centre. Beds are rather hard but the rooms are of a good standard. Breakfast was continental stylebut lacked variety but the quality was good and the food plentiful; seating arrangements a little odd as the tables are closer to coffee tables rather than dining tables. Would we stay at this hotel again - certainly.
“Smart but cosy hotel with great staff”
Smart jazzy interior within an old buidling's shell, the bedrooms are not large but perfectly comfortable and clean. Air-conditioned bedrooms and dining room/lounge (essential for the summer). Very nice buffet breakfast. Delightfully polite and helpful staff. No hesitation in recommending. Make sure you pack a downloaded street map of the local area with you, as this hotel is not easy to find amoungst all the back-streets, but the locality itself is fine although a fair walk from Rialto bridge and the main sites. Do take advantage of the offer from the hotel staff to pre-book visits to St Mark's Duomo for you; for a minimal on-line fee this will save you hours of queueing. Bookings to other places may also be possible, just ask at the front desk, or alternatively do this yourself from home if you can find the right website. If you can afford it, I would recommend hire a private water taxi from the airport to Venice. We didn't but in retrospect it probably is worth the extra money, especially if sharing 4 or more people. The public water taxi service from the airport is OK, but not open-topped so it doesn't quite provide the magical start to the holiday you might wish for - use this cheaper option for the return journey!
“Home away from home.”
Hotel is right in the heart of Venice. First time visitors easily lose their way. The hotel is slightly inside not far away from grand canal. If you are coming from Marcoplolo Airport you will come by bus to Piazzale Roma and from there you catch a boat bus. Get down at RIVA BIASIO. Take the only road and turn left. Walk till the end and turn right. The hotel is 100 meters on your right. The staff are friendly, continental breakfast is served to your room free! They did not even charge us for the coffee which we asked to our room. All the fittings are new and appear grand. Bath room fittings are of hig quality. Hotel is in a quiet location and you can even walk to all important places in the centre of Venice. Boat bus available at Grand Canal which is very nearby. Lots of other restaurants and pubs nearby. There is an Indian restaurant called 'GANESH Ji'. Very tasty and fast service. It is at the end of road caaled fundamenta Rio Marin, next to the canal Rio Marin. On the whole the hotel has a 5 Star quality and situated at an excellent point near the Grand Canal. I would like to go back there again.
“Hotel ideal pour visiter Venise”
L'hôtel est dans un bâtiment ancien qui vient d'être rénové avec beaucoup de goût. La situation est idéale pour visiter Venise et les chambre sont très calmes. L'accueil est parfait : aucune fausse note.
