“Very pleasant place to stay close to but apart from the excesses of Venice”
My wife and I wanted a hotel on the Lido that was reasonably priced yet acceptably comfortable and of good quality. The Biasuttu fulfilled these requirements admirably - this has not always been our experience in Italy. The only thing we found was that the room, and indeed the whole floor we were staying on, were both rather warm. I think this was because we went in November and the hotel erred on the side of turning the heating up too much in order to avoid people feeling cold. We were able to sort this ourselves. In addition the supply of hot water was patchy - occasionally it took an awful long time to get hot water at all. These were really minor issues in the great scheme of things. The continental breakfast was perfectly acceptable without being outstanding. A nice touch was that they made fresh cappucinos, espressos etc on request. There was a free internet point in the lobby - very handy. On the day we checked out there was a strike by public transport staff - really bad news because we had a hire car and were thus stuck on the Lido for an extra day. The staff - one female receptionist in particular - could not have been more sympathetic and helpful. They did say that this was the second such strike in two weeks and so I suppose this did give us second thoughts about the wisdom of staying on the Lido. This was a pity because the central part of the Lido is a very pleasant place to return to after the frentic over-commercialism of Venice.
“Very nice hotel”
Friendly helpful staff
“Do the Lido Shuttle”
We stayed overnight at this hotel en route to the Dolomites in 1999 and found the room adequate and breakfast on the terrace charming, so when we decided to stay on the Lido, this was our first choice to check out. In the intervening 7 years, the room we had (Sept 06) improved from 'adequate' to 'comfortable' (with spa bath!) Didn't have tea/coffee facility in room, but didn't notice having a decent-sized bedroom and and a big bathroom. the bed seemed enormous and the aircon worked, so top marks for the room. the sheets appeared to be changed daily and the bathroom was spotless each day. Whilst the terrace has been glazed in part (the photo shows pre-modernisation), breakfast can still be taken al fresco. the choice at breakfast is better than other Venetian hotels we have stayed at and not charged as an extra. (the quiche - either ham & cheese or spinach - was particularly good). The staff were all friendly and most of the time, very efficient. The location is excellent, being on a leafy avenue less than 5 minutes from the main Lido thoroughfare where there is a reasonable choice of eateries, if guests don't choose to go back to the main city. Thoroughly recommend the Biasutti together with a Venice Card which over 7 days gave us unlimited travel on the water-bus - including the airport, which is easy to reach from the Lido. The quality of the hotel definitely contributed to an excellent break.
“idéal.”
Hôtel très confortable, ayant un style certain (meubles vénitiens, fauteuils, chambre spacieuse). Très agréable de retrouver le calme après une journée à Venise. Pas loin de l'embarcadère, à portée de marche des plages du Lido. Très bon petit déjeuner.
“Perfect location”
If you are going to Venice I would recommend staying on the lido. You have the benefit of the beach and the peace on the lido and it's so easy to get to main Venice on the boat. This hotel is a 2 minute walk from both the boats and the beach. It is on a quiet side road, the breakfast was the usual buffet style (excellent hot chocolate). Overall a very pleasant hotel with a lovely terrace for breakfast. Room small but clean and had everything we needed. I would come here again.
“Hotel trés sympas”
Très bon hôtel rapport qualité prix. Excellent hôtel pour visiter Venise.
“Very Convenient”
Excellent Hotel. Ideally situated for Venice and visiting other Islands. Nice selection of restaurants nearby. Very helpful Reception staff.
“très bon compromis”
hotel très agréable calme, proche de l'embarcadère les commerce et restaurant sont à 200 m env c'est très reposant de séjourner à Lido et de pouvoir retrouver le calme le soir après une journee de déambulation à Venise le personnel est agréable et serviable; les chambres sont confortables et propres les petits déjeuners sont variés et copieux
“Quiet and confortable”
The hotel was in a lovely quiet treelined road equal distance from the beach and vaporetti stop . Although it looked a little dated a first the airconditioning was efficient and bathrooms modern. There were crisp white sheets on the beds which were very confortable. The breakfasts had lovely pastries also eggs, fruit and cereal provided very good value for money.
“Nous y retournerons volontiers”
Calme et proche des commodités locales
