“Great Location”

Like they say, location, location, location. Being right off San Marco Square was great. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. Like any room in Venice, it was small and the shower had little water pressure, but we did not find it to be a problem. There was a very good breakfast included in the room change that we appreciated. I would have no problem staying here again.

“30 second walk to St Marks Square.”

This hotel is great, large room with sofa, bath, shower, minibar, TV, Bidet and all facilities needed. It's not even a 30 second walk to St Marks Square and very easy to find. The hotel was very clean and comfortible with a decent breakfast. However the bar was very expensive and the barman was rude and arrogant. My advice to avoid the 7.50euro for a beer and watching the barman complaining to a waitress for serving you in the first place. Well worth the stay just avoid the bar it is very expensive.

“The location was great!”

We loved this hotel. I have been to Venice at least 8 times and this is one of the best locations I've stayed at. It's right in the heart of everything...but quiet. The only negative was that there was no central air conditioning. We had mild tempertatures when we were there the first days of June, but it can get really hot in the summer. The small room air conditioner cooled the room, but in really warm weather it wouldn't be enough to be comfortable. Otherwise, the rooms were small (typical for this price in Europe) but nicely furnished and very clean. We had a lovely view onto a quiet street. The breakfast was good and the breakfast room looked out onto a coloful street scene. You walked out of your hotel and a few doors away was San Marcos. It was great hotel with courteous staff and we will definately stay here on our next trip.

“You couldn't want for a better location”

Just seconds away from Piazza San Marco, this hotel was in the perfect place. It was wonderful to be so close to the piazza especially at night when you could just go for a stroll along the waterfront and soak up the atmosphere. The hotel room was furnitured to a high standard and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was superb and of a good size which made it a pleasure to use. The taps and showers worked properly with plenty of hot water! The only drawback was that when I asked for an extension lead for the modem connection, they weren't able to provide one but that was just a minor point. The room was clean. The breakfast was sufficient. Staff were friendly and spoke very good English. The hotel had a very calm and quiet atmosphere at night which was most welcome. The only noise were the bells ringing at midnight and in the morning from St Mark's bell tower. Wonderful!

“Great value for the money”

Located right off St Mark's Square, the hotel was convenient to both St Mark's and the Rialto Bridge area. Nothing fancy, just clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable but pillows pretty flat. Room small but didn't spend alot of time in the room. Nice flat screen tv. Nice size marble bath, however the tub is small but works okay as shower. Staff friendly but not overbearing. Would definitely stay there again.

“Venice in Winter”

Although very cold, Venice in Winter is still a good place to visit. However, whatever time of the year you decide to go, be prepared for a lot of walking. Access over bridges invariably involves trudging up and own a fair number of steps - which can be tricky if icy.

“Can't wait to go back”

Excellent location!!! The hotel is located only a few steps from Piazza San Marco which is very convinient. Our room was very good, spacious. The staff was polite and gave us all the information we needed about Venice. The breakfast which was included was very good. We would definetly recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

“Great location, wonderful city”

Hotel is clean and comfortable. Retro traditional decor. Friendly & helpful staff. Breakfast is more than adequate with staff regularly topping up supplies. The best location you could hope for literally just off St Marks Square. Venice is everything you image it could be a truly magical place.

“Excellent value and situation”

Our first trip to Venice and we found the Albergo San Marco a perfect choice. Just off the square but in a quiet lane the hotel is ideally situated. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast was very varied and I'm sure would please anyone. All in all for a three star hotel in Venice very good value for money.

“Very convenient location”

We stayed at the hotel in the beginning of April 2009. It is situated almost on the square of St.Marco and it is very easy to find. The room style is gorgeous but we got twin beds put together instead of the one double bed. Maybe all rooms have only twin beds, I do not know. Breakfast was very good and you can have it early in the morning without any problems. Staff at the reception is ready to organize trips, excursions etc. for you. On the whole, very nice hotel which I can definitely recommend.
