Very comfortable, spacious room; well appointed and clean hotel; good choice of food for buffet breakfast.
As first time visitors to Venice we brought a map with us, but it still took ages to find the hotel. Clear simple instructions to be printed off with the booking confirmation would have made such a difference as it is actually very easy to reach the hotel once you know where you are going!
ADVICE - travel light! Everything has to be carried by the visitor - there many bridges and narrow busy streets. (Bus direct from the airport to Venice bus station and then vaporetto (few mins walk) to Rialto seemed less tiring than the return journey from Rialto to the airport (a good
10 mins walk) by Allilaguna water bus.)

Just about the most comfortable shower experience I've had in a hostel/hotel. Gocce at the front desk is super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. He'll tell you everything you'll need to know about getting to/around the island of Venice. The neighborhood can feel a bit unsafe in the dark, but the bus stop is only a 5 minute walk away. Train station 10 mins.
Arriving at the train station the check in was not very far at all. The staff was very friendly and check in was fast. They did a good job of emailing after booking regarding the fact you check in at one hotel but will have a walk to the actual hotel. It was a bit further than expected and with luggage going over a few bridges was tiring. But for the price and the location it was a great deal. The room was very nice. The furnishings were decent, if a bit dated and worn. But the room was large and comfortable.

Excellent staff- Claudia, Stefano & Steve. My wife was not well & all 3 went out of their way to make her comfortable & welcomed us. They arranged for a porter to carry our luggage from the San Basillio cruise ship terminal to the hotel & the next day to the Airport bus terminal. The hotel is not pretentious but very clean in a quiet residential neighbourhood with some restaurants nearby.
I higly recommend this hotel to visitors to Venice.
Pick up at the airport was delayed due to misinformation and airport construction. After an hour of waiting at the meeting point according to the informative e-mail, a call was placed by a passserby to the hotel. The hotel car arrived about ten minutes later.
"Ideal Location - central without being too central"
The Ai Reali is an exceptional hotel situated central to all tourist attractions without being right on top of any of them. Everything is a short stroll away and this makes it ideal for anyone visiting Venice. It has its own mooring for water taxi's and gondola's, which I would recommend doing at least once. The staff could not have been more helpful and the rooms are sumptuous and exquisite.
We stayed in the Grecale apratment in October. It exceeded our expectations in every possible way:
- very modern and clean
- 2 min walk to St. Marks and 5 min to Rialto
- very well equipped in kitchen utensils
In short we would definitely reccomend it to any- and everybody!
Had double bed room apartment. Very nice and clean. All the facilities what u have in ur house. It was two minutes walk from very famous Rialto bridge. Window was right at the canal and small bridge and u can see lots people walking towards to san marco square. Apartment was right at the centre and walk every where easily. I would definitely recommend this and actually it is ideal for family rather than a
The accommodation is simple and meets all the basic needs of most travellers who want to be out and about rather than sitting in a hotel. It is BnB style - not 5 star hotel so adjust your expectations accordingly.
The staff were amazing - so hospitable and attentive!
