Friendly helpful staff. The hotel was in a good location if you were going to concerts or taking in a sports venue.

Close to Rogers arena

Posted 20-Nov-2014
It was close. The bathroom was so small. The shower head sprayed sideways onto the floor. The tub took forever to drain. The mattress covers had spill marks all along the edges on both beds. My sisters bed was full of wrinkled sheets. It looked like someone had slept in it.

Good Hotel for overnight stay. Nothing longer.

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Pros: Location is perfect for attending events or city shopping/nightlife. Staff were friendly and our room was clean.
Cons: The hotel is in need of a serious renovation. Soon the age and appearance will trump the convenience and advantage of location.
Location: You could throw a stone and hit BC Place stadium and Rogers Arena. With in walking distance to Yaletown and almost all of the best shopping districts.
All staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Location is ideal, especially if attending an event. Consider price point when rating this hotel. It is definitely "economy" class. I consider it a good hotel for an overnight stay. If needing longer I would start looking at other options. The issue I have with this hotel is that it's old and starting to show it. The walls, floors and decor are all showing signs of wear and tear as well as age. The front desk has several large cracks running along the floor. The walls all over the hotel, including our room, have many cracks, dings and chunks in them and are incredibly thin. We could hear a lot. The windows are single pane and are in need of serious weathering. This leads to my biggest complaint with our stay here. Our room was incredibly cold all night due to the bad draft coming from the windows. They have a heater/air conditioner installed in the room that was nothing more than a loud piece of garage. The draft from the windows was so bad, and the heater was so poor, that it never shut off. All it did was keep us up until we finally decided to unplug the thing. The location and cleanliness makes this hotel perfect for an overnight stay when attending an event if all you need is a safe place to crash, but I certainly wouldn't even consider staying here for a weekend getaway. It is just too out of date and in need of some major renovations for it to be considered worthy of a weekend getaway or longer stay. It's a 3/5.

Beds are uncomfortable

Posted 16-Nov-2014
Pros: I like having a restaurant and bar in the hotel.
Cons: New firmer mattresses. Having breakfast included in the price of the room.
Location: I like the location between the two Skytrain lines and the nearness to Robson St., the Public Library, BC Place, Rogers Arena and the casino.
I've stayed more than a half dozen times at the hotel. I have come to the conclusion the beds are too soft for my body. I often wake up with a sore back. I didn't put 2 and 2 together until this time when both morning I awoke with back pain. Everything else is great and probably young bodies wouldn't notice what I've no discovered.

Nice but a poor sleep

Posted 14-Nov-2014
Pros: Clean room, comfy layout, friendly staff at lobby
Cons: The Pepsi machine! Room 510
A nice room and comfortable but the Pepsi machine was right next door and sounded like a plane was landing every 20 minutes! We thought it was the elevator. Didn't notice it til after midnight when we wanted to sleep. also the pool deck was very messy with beer cans all over. ..just needed some tidying.

Pros: Location & price.
Beds were comfy, nice linens. The elevators are quick, a variety of restaurants & bars all in the vicinity. The bathroom was unacceptable. Moldy tiles, ceiling and shower curtain, tub ring, cracked toilet. The windows also covered in black mold.
