Good nice to have a decent restaurant right in the

Posted 28-Jul-2015
We only slept for 6 hours and we were gone. The bed was comfortable and the room temperature was perfect.

Downtown Vancouver - but weak hotel on every level

Posted 25-Jul-2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Cleanliness and plumbing. The restaurant was very weak as well.
Location: There is a lot to do in DT Vancouver, so that is the one thing (in my mind) that this hotel has going for it. After that - theres not much else.
The room was very old and tired. Windows were very dirty. Found a shrivelled up Cherry near the foot of the bed. Bathroom and Shower were dirty and some mold growing as well. Hotel Pool was suspect as well, with mold in certain section and rust on the majority of the tiles in and out of the pool. Access to the pool was very strange, as it seemed to route you thru the back hallways of the hotel, and/or you had to enter thru the hotel gym, which seemed to perturb the gym patrons as well as us.

Pros: the location was fine.
Cons: Proper renovations, everything is very dated, new beds, bathroom completely renovated
The woman who checked us in was very welcoming and helpful. We have absolutely no complaints about any of that. However, it was almost like a maze to find our room, it was extremely small and poorly laid out. The ceiling in the bathroom had stains and cracks all over it. The bed was probably one of the worst we have ever slept in - very saggy and extremely uncomfortable. The elevator was so hot we felt as though we were going to pass out. We got very little sleep, to say the least, and ended up leaving very early in the morning because we couldn't stand to be in that room any longer.

Poor service and incredibly crowded

Posted 19-Jul-2015
Each day long lines at elevator due to small size. Corridors are long and narrow and makes walking difficult. Parking instructions poor. Long waits for help at the front desk. Never more than 2 people on desk even when 20 or more people waiting.

Decent hotel in downtown Vancouver

Posted 19-Jul-2015
Pros: OK conditions for the price, location, staff professionalism.
Cons: Some minor room touch ups.
Location: Near the city center and train station.
The hotel check in process was adequate, staff polite, room conditions alright. I enjoyed the location since I did not have to travel too much from the train station and being close to city center. I had to share the room so it was good that the bath sink was separated by a door from the shower/toilet. The hotel was undergoing some renovation at the time I stayed in mid-July but I was not bothered by any noise from my room. The room itself had also undergone some renovations, however some of the improvements were done in a hurry and not that well: bath fan was loud and not that well installed (it kept vibrating like crazy), towel holder was hanging from the wall like it would fall off anytime. The window insulation was alright even if it was old: they have two sets of windows and you can open them, however there was one screw awry put so I couldn't open the windows all the way (not sure if that was done on purpose or not).

Pros: Location, room cleanliness. Comfy beds.
Cons: Noisy AC units - ours was turned off but could still hear the ones next door. Called front desk repeatedly from room but no one answered the phone.
OK hotel. very noisy fan in bathroom. has seen better days.

Function not form

Posted 15-Jul-2015
Pros: The location and the pool- short but sweet.
Cons: the architecture.... too late, though
Location: you can hear the south from the stadium. One direction from the hotel is good shops and galleries. The other is Skid Row, and it sure was on the Skids
A decent room near everything we needed. Parking is expensive, but that comes with the neighborhood. The lobby was shockingly crowded, but the very few staff did their best, which was quite good for us.

Awesome Hotel!

Posted 14-Jul-2015
This hotel is right downtown and close to Rogers Arena. The rooms are nice and mostly clean except for there was some sort of spill on our door that hadn't been cleaned. Also the pool area isn't that clean. The staff is very helpful and accommodating.

The room reeked of cigarette smoke.

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Pros: A new area to explore, close to Queen E theatre
Cons: Clean the carpets & window coverings.
Location: Close to Queen E theatre, city library, different places to eat
From the time we entered the room until we left the hotel, the room stank of cigarette smoke even with the air conditioning on. Difficult to breath!!!!
