“This hotel was perfect for my needs”
I was taking a course in Burnaby and was looking for an affordable, safe and comfortable room for two weeks. This hotel was perfect. The room was very well priced and absolutely enormous! I had a king bed, full kitchen with oven and microwave, big desk to work at, big table for eating and a huge, expansive living area...for the best price of any hotel I looked at in the area. The location was great - 5 minutes from my course, 5 minutes from a big mall and a very short walk to sushi, Starbucks and Skytrain. The rooms are a bit older - it's not flash and glamour, but it was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The front desk staff were always friendly and incredibly helpful. I used the computer in the lobby every day to check my email. Only cons - a bit noisy one of the 10 nights I stayed with a younger group of guests and the advertised balcony wasn't much - more of a walkway in front. There was a pool and hot tub that I didn't have time to use, but looked nice. It was a little green oasis right off a busy highway - quite unusual. I loved it and would go back any time.
“Good quality for low price”
Low price, convenient location, fully equipped kitchen
“great for celiacs!”
I have dietary restrictions (gluten free) and as a result have to bring food everywhere I travel. The kitchenette contained a full size refrigerator and a stove top range which made it a breeze to buy what we needed from a nearby grocery store and store our food in the hotel room. The room was very large, and the staff was very pleasant. The hotel itself is a little run down, and seems to be designed for extended stays. I would definitely stay there again.
“Best location and condition for price”
This is a very convenient location for accessing all the Lower Mainland by vehicle and excellent for access by Skytrain - especially for the price. staff was very helpful and the room was clean and large. There is a pool and hot tub too! Even though on a busy thoroughfare, it was very peaceful. This is not a high end motel but clean, convenient and comfortable.
“We got what we paid for.”
It was just as expected. The room was well equipped for all of us and everyone was happy. The hot tub room was lovely and our beds were comfy. The bathroom could use a reno and maybe that is upcoming as it looked like renos were taking place here and there. Our oven didn't work but the remainder of the kitchenette was furnished nicely. We'll definitely consider them for our next trip.
“Good solid no frills stay”
Looking for a good clean no frills motel with easy access via sky train to downtown? This is the place to stay. Reasonable rates, have stayed here many times.
“Not Fancy”
I was quite satisfied with this hotel. It was a good size and had a little kitchenette which was very handy. It was a good location for where I was going to a family reunion and quite centrally located for Burnaby. It was not fancy at all, in fact a little run down, but it was clean, roomy and had an outdoor pool which I enjoyed. The hot tub was undergoing renovations.
“Nothing fancy but met my needs.”
The motel looks a bit rough on the outside which could be off-putting to some. But my room was clean and looked out onto the inside courtyard with the pool which was quite pretty. Staff were friendly and helpful, when I arrived, during my stay and as I was checking out. The room itself was large and I really liked the convenience of the kitchenette. Everything was clean and the shower was hot. Overall it met my needs quite well. The motel faces a very busy street but behind the hotel is a lovely residential neighbourhood. Traffic noise was not an issue at all which was a pleasant surprise. If you are looking for a no frills place to stay at a decent price and have a car to get around, this motel is just fine.
“About what was expected for the rate.”
The layout is confusing. The hot tub room closed at least an hour earlier than expected, the pool was decent but over chlorinated. We waited at the front desk for about fifteen minutes before someone came to check us in. The room was pleasant, very large and simply furnished. Bathtub was iffy, but fine for showers. The mini fridge didn't seal properly; we propped it closed. The room location was great as was the parking. The hotel location is good, very close to the skytrain- you can also hear it at night but not too badly, at least from our room. The 'free' breakfast is three dollars a person by the honor system, despite saying free on the brochure and you'll have to ask for the actual times it's served as it changes. The staff were fairly noncommittal for the most part, clearly not obsessed with customer service although not outright hostile. I would probably stay there again, although I'd pay a couple more dollars if another hotel had better service.
“if you like the 70's”
tired needs to be updated, still lives in the 70's. Bedding is old, bathroom has no fan, kitchenette is a joke
