Great Ski Trip!

Posted 17-Mar-2014
Pros: Location, small hotel, very friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Shops and restaurants close by. The ski lift is a short walk.
We spent six nights and skied 5 days. Perfect location conveniently located in the Village providing free parking underground. Daily breakfast was good with a variety of things to choose from.

Great Vacation

Posted 8-Feb-2014
Pros: Just about everything. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Convenient location. The included breakfast and the afternoon soup was a plus.
Cons: If the lodge could get some kind of discount on lift tickets.
Location: Super convenient location. About 6 to 8 minute walk to Gondola one and the Shuttle transportation center. Shopping and restaurants right next door.
One of the best ski vacations my family has ever had. Picking hotels on the internet can sometimes be deceiving, but the Sitzmark was exactly as the staff described. Less than 30 minutes from Eagle airport. Snowed every day we were there. Easy access to Beaver Creek Mountain, also. 14$ roundtrip to Beaver Creek per person on the shuttle.

Perfect location

Posted 23-Nov-2013
Went with my husband for our anniversary they didn't not have the room we booked but they gave us what they had and I was more than pleased . The pool and hot tub were both great to relax in while it snowed. The sitzmark has a great location it is in the middle of everything and the staff is very friendly and helpful .

Great Location

Posted 4-Nov-2013
The hotel definitely needs some sprucing up as it looks like the decor was last updated in about 1985. However, it was clean and the staff were helpful. My main goal was to avoid driving for the weekend and sine it's located right in the midst of Vail Village, I was able to walk to dinner and to Lionshead.

GREAT Location in Vail Village!

Posted 29-Oct-2013
Pros: The room was very clean and the bed appeared to be either a memory foam or had a memory foam topper. Either way, slept like a baby!
Cons: The continental breakfast was minimal at best. They probably assume most folks will go to a restaurant.
Location: Covered bridge, bus service, shopping and dining options are all within a couple minutes walk. Booth Falls trailhead 9 miles away.
We were here for the off season in October but still enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located in the heart of Vail Village with dining and shopping right outside the entrance. A 2-3 minute walk to the bus stop if you want to go to another area of Vail. The covered bridge is right around the corner and made a nice photo op. Overall, great location and nice hotel.

Hotel in middle of ski village.

Posted 2-Sep-2013
Pros: The location of the hotel made it easy to get around in regard to the activities we had planned. It was nice to sit on the deck and take in the views.
Cons: The continental breakfast provided was ho-hum. Fresher and tastier breakfast items would be an improvement.
Location: We went hiking during the day and took in Vail Jazz performances in the evenings.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with a nice deck. Two drawbacks had to do with noise. Our room faced the pedestrian mall and after midnight we heard the loud voices of people leaving restaurants and bars and in the early morning delivery trucks were noisy. We will go back but on our next visit we will request a creekside room and see if it is quieter on that side of the hotel.

Great price for location, amenities need work!

Posted 29-Aug-2013
Pros: Location, Location, Location. 35 rooms total, easy access to get in/out and to the pool/jacuzzi.
Cons: WiFi, WiFi ... on all floors and all ends of the building. Imperative. Suggest upgrading the counter tops and art in rooms.
Location: Next to several restaurants, lots of high $$$ shopping. Gore Creek 25 yards; many outdoor options ... hiking, biking, mountain biking, Farmers market
Great price and location in center of village. Easy walk everywhere. Beds are excellent. Pool/Jacuzzi are nice for a small hotel. Room, furniture and hotel decor are dated and makes you feel like you are in a HoJo. WiFi was a joke; for a business traveler this factor alone made me a very unhappy guest. Simple upgrade for management to make.If you are "creekside" (recommended), opened slider door all night is fantastic; listening to creek and birds. However, many adjacent rooms have shared small balconies. Can't beat the price and location. This place is not a 4.0+ out of 5.0 ... no way. Other nearby locations and options raise the bar pretty high. I'll spend the extra $25 to $50 per night and stay somewhere else next time. Of course, my frame of reference is the Sonnenalp which is one of the highest rated hotel/resorts in Vail valley.
