Very good hotel. breakfast doesn't have much choices. The beach you have to pay six bucks per person to get into. Wi-Fi is very bad in rooms.

In our recent vacation to Costa Rica we decided to stay at this location because it was closed to playa uvita. The hotel was more than what we were expecting, the room had a nice space, super clean and nicely decorated. The pool was super clean. The crew at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. One of the employees helped us book a whales view adventure which was amazing. Also, the restaurant's food was really good. We will most definitely stay here again.

We got a double room and had a bed that barely fit one person. No mirror in the bathroom, had an electric water heated shower that was being held by a metal chain.

Convenient beach access!
The rooms are adequate size and very clean, with small fridge included in every room. All of the property is well landscaped and clean. The air conditioner is awesome for a break from the heat! Breakfast is included with room rate. It's delicious and you can eat all you want; choosing from eggs, plantains, rice/beans, and a variety of fruit. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant/bar is open for all 3 meals. And there's a large pool for a refreshing dip or daily exercise. And, most importantly, the beach, 'Playa Chaman', is a short walk away.

The food is good, the location is great, pretty nice pool. I recommend the hotel and not the house they rent. The overall service is terrible. Staff people are nice but don’t have a clue of what customer service is. I don’t think they have been trained on that, and I mean the receptionists, the waiters at the restaurant, the maid, etc. I rented the house and it didn’t have wi-fi, the AC of one of the rooms didn’t work, we were never given a key for the house, how about that?! And when I got there they didn’t even know I reserved the house.

I was looking for a double room and I saw some pictures of a wooden cabin, I thought there were bungalows. When I got there it was a really small room. I would say this is a 2 star hotel. The staff is really nice though.

Stayed on second floor with high ceilings. Rooms was not large but clean and a/c worked well. Nice pool and restaurant/bar on site. 2 minute walk to the beach. Friendly staff as well, would definitely stay again.

Swimming pool need maintenance
It's surprising but it's cheaper to book with Orbitz than directly with the hotel. I have booked via Orbitz almost in front of the hotel staff who were sticking with her price. Air conditionned was excellent, swimming pool was terrible. Water was green on the day of my arrival. I had to tell the staff to clean the pool. The day after, pool was full of chemical products but it was possible to use it. The third day, the pool was covered with floating green alguaes with bubbles. Staff was nice people but this hotel is more a stop for costarican workers on the road than an hotel for tourists. Breakfast is served at 8AM, a bit late when you want to quit early.

Nice hotel close to the breach
Small clean room with powerful air conditioner. Short walk (maybe 300m) down dirt road to ballenas national park and vast, pristine and (at least when we were there march 2017) almost completely devoid of people, beach with soft brown sand and warm water. Hotel has a nice pool (altho they need new deck chairs). Room had a double and a single bed, electric shower, and a small fridge that kept our drinks ice cold. There is a small bar/restaurant. Breakfast was included (choice of Costa Rican food or fruit plate). What really made our visit special tho was the super NICE staff. One night my wife konked out early after too much relaxing at the beach. I spent an hour at the bar chatting in my very poor Spanish and subsequently we were all the best of friends. When we left they all came by, gave us hugs and a bottle of 12 year old rum to take home with us. I literally had tears in my eyes. I'm not saying that anyone else will have the same experience, but the staff, especially Ignacio and Fabian, made it one of the nicest vacations we've ever had.

Very basic for the price
Very basic room for the price. Tiny rooms, weird exposed wire above the shower head, threadbare bedding on exposed mattress, no blanket, beaten down pillows..... Too far away to walk to town. Great breakfast and nice restaurant and friendly and helpful staff. But hard to get over how used up and cheap everything about the room was. For $85 a night you expect at least a newish $20 set of sheets and pillow cases.

Overpriced!
The hotel is near Marino Ballena but after 4 pm there is nothing to do in the area. If you want to do something else or go to any other beach, must drive at least 10 km to Playa Ventanas. Hotel pictures are not the best description of the place. The photographer just did some tricks to hide the common areas, and just showed the best room. You will get a normal room where courtains must be closed to avoid other people watching you inside. You hear the people in other rooms talking, because the hotel wall's are not thick enought Staff was unpolite and not interested. They never asked my name or said thanks at check out. I just told I had an Expedia reservation and that was all.

Stayed here for one night before going to Envision festival. Huge sign off the main road that will lead you there although once on the road a bit hard to spot in the dark. You make a right off the main road and then it is on the left hand side.

It is a good stay, the rooms are clean and everything works good. The pool is nice after a day at the beach. It is about 7 min walk to the beach, and the service is fine. The beach at the national park is very nice. Good stay given the neighborhood options.

Great service and all, but the rooms needs a little more improvement the A/C the noise was unbearable and not able to sleep well because of the beds had this plastic bag fold and pillows which made hard to relax well. No hot shower for those that like to have warm showers in the morning at a really hot place.

Good location steps away to Playa Ballena
The hotel is in a great location just a short walk to the beautiful beach of Playa Ballena. The room we stayed in was very simple and basic. It could probably benefit from some extra nice décor and bedding. The A.C worked well, just a bit too noisy. The bathroom was clean,but bigger towels would be a plus. The rate included local continental breakfast (gallo pinto,eggs,bread, and coffee/juice), but it was more than sufficient and freshly prepared. The attention and service from the manager was great. He went above and beyond to accommodate our specific needs during our stay.
