“Stay again - hell yes!”
Fabulous Hotel, great staff, very very happy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had a rock view room, so was able to watch the sunrise on Uluru from the comfort of a double bed with four pillows. Much better than freezing your butt off out in the desert. Would definitely stay again, and recommend to others.
“Excellent Experience with a Few Local 'Friends'!”
Excellent hotel and I would definitely stay there again. Bear in mind though, you are in the middle of the Outback and a few friendly bugs may take up residence with you! They were quite easy to get rid of though!
“Very suitable for our family”
Wonderful place.
“Middle of the road lodging”
This is hotel is the best compromise of price vs value received in the complex. We had a great view of Ayers Rock from our room. Downside was no elevator to second floor rooms thus our request for help with luggage mentioned below. Most of the staff were very courteous and helpful except for front desk clerk who checked us in. He was very perfunctory and closed mouth with information even when we asked. The hotel seems set up mainly to service bus tours as opposed to guests arriving by automobile. There is no bellman or valet at main lobby entrance where guests not on a bus tour arrive. We had to request help with our luggage. We were told that we'd have a delay as they were servicing the luggage of a bus tour. Most hotels charging these kind of rates would have had a bellman at the ready. Food expensive and "ho hum". Have breakfast at deli in "shopping center" as opposed to hotel to save some dollars. Although limited, one can also get breakfast at Ayers Rock Visitors Center after you go out to watch sunrise.
“Good accommodations in remote small town”
The hotel was basic, but was clean and comfortable with large bathrooms. Restaurants were quite expensive due to the difficulty of transporting the food to this very remote town, and they didn't always meet the informal needs of my boys eating habits. Just would recommend some simple, less expensive meal options for kids. Other than that, it was an amazing experience and I would recommend staying in this property.
“Nice place for families”
Desert Gardens was a good place for a family to be at Yulara. Not as formal as Sails in the Desert, not as casual as Outback Pioneer. Attractive grounds and layout. Bedroom was standard and comfortable, bathroom a little more spacious than normal which was nice. Bonus was discovering that guest laundry facilities were available and free.
“Great experience!”
Very good service, especially given the remote location.
“Desert Gardens”
Our room at the Desert Gardens was very nice, and the bed, and pillows very comfy. Prices were high, but if you want to see the Uluru, and Kata Tjuta's from the area your choices will all be high. They also let us check out an hour late, which was a bonus for our flight time. Overall we were happy with our stay.
“Very Pleasant”
Very nice. In the USA, I think it would be a solid 3 1/2 to 4 diamonds on AAA ratings. Beware that in Ayers Rock there is nothing but the hotels. No town of Ayers Rock. Nothing but The Rock, the hotels and the airport. There is a pleasant "village" area that's common to all the hotels. It's almost like a miniature Las Vegas with buses and tours coming and going all day and night. The hotel staff did a great job keeping everything moving along, and pleasantly answering the same questions all day long. Many food styles available at different restaurants, all we tried were tasty and plentiful. Only downside: we did notice a room service tray that was not picked up for 24+ hours. Yuk, especially with heat and outdoor corridors.
“Nice Hotel”
Great locale ,cool all day despite 40'c+ heat, good visitor centre , good cafes and restaurant[expensive] ,close IGA supermarket [not expensive], great free little shuttle buses to other parts of complex[and activities] and airport , good help for local outings, excellent talk by aboriginal tucker/medicine lady. Room maintenance reluctant except for clean towels daily if desired. Reception knowledgeable ,pleasant and helpful. [not-so busy season]
