What i liked most was the location,,,easy walk to the Aura river and transportation was super easy to negotiate,,,if needed. The hotel and staff was great,,,very good breakfast.

Good location, quiet room, and nice service
Small but perfectly adequate room with a nice view on to a quiet pedestrian street. The service was nice, the location of the hotel excellent, and the room was very quiet although it opened directly to the elevator lobby in the floor.

Dated rooms, poor breakfast, loud street, no sleep
Awful, awful hotel. Rude staff, services didn't work on room TV. Can't get it fixed. Dated rooms, leaky shower, horrible beds and pillows especially. We were unable to sleep for all 5 nights! Over 200 euros a night and no sleep, we will never return to this hotel. No air con so have to keep windows open but there are drunk people outside screaming through the night, also hotel chose not to inform guests that building works with heavy machine start at 7.30am outside windows! Breakfast is poor, no real bacon, unwashed lettuce with horrible black stuff on most mornings. There are way better options in town now, avoid this hotel!

Quite good hotel.Very friendly staff.Very good breakfast. Small fitness centre but not bad.From outside the hotel does not look impressive but inside it is much better. The room was very small.Too small for me.

Could be cleaner
I have stayed at this location several times in the past. Although it still needs to be refurbished, we were very disappointed in the cleanliness of our room after we checked in. As an example, glasses weren't clean and had small pieces of paper stuck to them and small pieces of paper were on the floor throughout the room. The breakfast was the standard Scandic breakfast and service was friendly as well.

OK stay the city centre
I was transferred from another hotel operating under the same brand and the stay was somewhat underwhelming. The staff was friendly, but hotel’s public spaces are worn and the decor is out of date. The view from my room was to a garage. The breakfast was rather scaled back due to COVID with only few guests at the venue, but some things ran out before the end of service. OK for short business trips, but not for any kind of romantic getaways or staycations.

Centrally located in the shopping district and only a couple minutes' walk to the main square. The Aura River is also close by. The room was clean and the hotel itself is well-maintained.

Overgrowded breakfast and trough service
The hotel had a great location, right at the downtown, but the service was poor: a person in the reception didn't bother to smile and I felt like she being too busy to answer my questions. I tried to ask about saunas and gym and she was just telling that I find the info in the booklet at the room and hurried me to continue from her desk. I felt like being on her way when she was here to serve some more important customers. The most horrible experience ever was the breakfast: I went there with the kids 1,5 hours before closing, to avoid the rush. But the lines were horrible, there was no empty table left, we had to wait the meal like in some lousy gas station, the people just standing with their plates as there was no place to sit. When we finally found a table it wasn't in the restaurant area but in the lobby. The people were standing back and forth all the time. Almost all the food from the breakfast table was gone before we got there and every object we had to wait quite a long time. I didn't feel like spending a peaceful holiday morning with a nice breakfast. Instead my kids got sad as not having the same things the people next to us were eating, I got mad as had to wait over 20min to have a cop of coffee and I really felt like the hotel breakfast was over booked considering its premises. Expecially in these corona times it really felt unsecure and stupid; and not even nice and peaceful what should be the main point in hotel breakfasts.

Great location and friendly hotel
The location of the hotel was amazing. Close to the major shopping, the city square, the river and the nightlife. The hotel service was very helpful, polite, willing to help and curious to foreigners. The room faced a tree lined street which gave it a nice calm feel. The bed was very comfortable and the restaurant food was good. The bathrooms could be modernized and the restaurant service was a bit confusing. The breakfast selection was typical Finnish style but some other Finnish restaurants offered a few more options. Overall, it was a good stay and recommended for visiting Turku.

Convenient location.
The hotel was very conveniently located, and the staff at reception were very welcoming and friendly. That said, the hotel was very basic and the rest of the staff (at breakfast, housekeeping did not look happy). It was very easy to get around Turku, from the hotel.

A relaxing experience
The stay was good, but not very special. Breakfast ordinary. The location in the center of the city with a lot of shops and cafes and art museums was great. The room and corridor were quiet, no disturbances. The curtains for the night could have been better, shutting out the light completely.

Nice hotel
Nice hotel. Friendly staff, all spoke English. Hotel is in town centre, close to all amenities. Only down side of hotel and it is only a small thing is that there wasn't any tea and coffee making facilities in the room. I would stay there again.

Comfortable stay.
Ideal business hotel, quiet comfortable, safe. The rooms are a little on the small size but acceptable. Excellent breakfast.

Nice experience
Excellent location, very nice, clean and quiet. I was travelling with a dog, staff was very friendly and provided small present for doggy, that was really nice. My room had even a waterbowl for a dog!

Very nice hotel
The first room was a bit small but otherwise OK. However it did not have tea making facilities. We spoke to the front desk about getting a kettle and after some discussions with them they upgraded us to a larger room at no extra cost. The staff were always friendly. The hotel was clean and well maintained.

Great business stay
It was great. Will stay again when next in Turku and use other Scandic Hotels's when staying in the Baltic/Scandinavian region. Clean room, free Wifi, free breakfast and free parking. There's also a good restaurant and gym.

Convenient hotel in the town centre.
This hotel had enough parking space. Front desk person was attentive. Breakfast was good. But the bathtub was never cleaned during my stay. From the second day no bath mat.

Very basic hotel with minimal amenities. Parking was puzzling and hotel staff were marginally helpful. I guess they expect everybody to know the "Finnish way" instinctively. Unfortunately I am not one of them and will not stay at this hotel again. BTW, this hotel way to expensive for what you get!!!

Nice stay
Great reception service. Here's a tip: all Scandic Plaza hotels have rooms fitted out for a disable person. This simply means that is it is much larger and the toilets have no bath. If one is available, ask to be upgraded.

The hotel was a little shabby especially after staying at the new Tampere Station hotel. The room was reasonably sized but the lighting was limited and the bathroom was small. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel was difficult to find since it was located at the end of a pedestrian mall.

Good basic hotel.
I stayed here for a few days on business. The staff are excellent, as is the food but the rooms are basic and mine was distictly chilly. There is a Sauna but I didn't use it. The hotel in a good central location, easy walking distance from the railway station. All in all, not bad but I'll probably try the other Scandic in town on my next visit.

Very good option.
I have on earlier occasions stayed in another Scandic hotel in Turku. Scandic Plaza ranks higher for architecture but the breakfast is not as good as at Scandic Julia.

Nice hotel on the shopping street
The room was very nice and comfortable. The only minus was the air conditioning machine humming in the back yard towards which our windows were facing. But closed windows muffled the sound.
