A not so hidden gemPosted 17-Oct-2014
Pros: Courteous staff, impressive facilities and a manager always present to cater to guests
Cons: Did I say it was perfect?
Location: Taxis are available in less than 5 minutes through the reception. 2 car rentals are within 2 blocks, it is with an 8 minute walk to all
Excellent facilities including an impressive garden with two pool, a sunken tub, and an incredible well stock bar. Large size kitchenette studios with ample bathrooms and terraces facing the pools lead to the upper floors hosting fabulous one and two bedroom suites with marvellous fully equipped kitchens, ample beds, and generous terraces overlooking the grounds and the sunset. Elevators, in suite laundry, air conditioning and plenty of parking. A tropical paradise with exquisite matured trees, palms, Bougainvilles, and flagrant flowers. Served by a dedicated team of happy employees, courteous and ready to serve. No restaurant although a full continental buffet is served daily by the pool. Located 2 and a half blocks from one of the greatest supermarkets in the Caribbean, and directly across 2 phenomenal restaurants in the grounds of Grace Bay Club. 1 block, through one of the most stunning gardens, to a postcard perfect beach, where Villa del Mar will pamper you in style with fresh towels, bar service, complimentary cold water and comfortable beach lounges, chairs an umbrellas all day. Heaven really, not tucked in, just elegantly in front. Walking distance, 8 minutes to supermarket , 10 to Regent Village and a collection of restaurants catering to every palate.

Lovely boutique style hotel near beachPosted 8-Oct-2014
Pros: The warm welcoming service.
Cons: Keep up the good service!
Location: The hotel is in the best part of Turks and Caicos, Grace Bay. There are many sporting, dining and shopping activities nearby.
We were warmly welcomed and given a nicely appointed room. They are very accommodating to all ages. Nice continental breakfast included.

Nice hotel. Second time I have stayed there.Posted 22-Sep-2014
Pros: The bed was super soft and comfy. The shower was excellent. The staff were warm and welcoming. I would stay there again.
The room had a musty smell, possibly because of non use? I solved this problem by opening my sliding door and letting the place air itself out.

Excellent Stay at Villa Del MarPosted 27-Aug-2014
Pros: The continental breakfast included, nice rooms, and proximity to the ocean.
Cons: There could be more food offerings like selling snacks at the bar.
Location: The ocean is by far the best thing to do nearby. Take the Island Vibez tour and go snorkeling - it was a blast!
Villa del Mar was just as pictured and everything we expected. We had a two bedroom suite for our family of 5. The ground floor is perfect for families because you are closer to the pool and easily able to bring your breakfast back to your room in the mornings. The staff was genuinely friendly and couldn't have been nicer. The breakfast was adequate, with the normal continental breakfast offerings. The beach really is just across the street. It takes all of 1 minute to get to the sand. The grocery store - Graceway Gourmet - is a 10 minute walk away. The food is expensive, but still less so than eating out. For example a box of cereal was 6-8 depending on the brand. The best restaurant food to be had nearby was at Seaside Cafe, which is at a hotel across the street. The food was good and reasonably priced for the island. The lack of food on the property was a bit of an issue early on for us. I knew that they didn't have a restaurant, but being American I suppose I expected a soda machine or vending machine of some kind. We had to go to the store on our first day to get something to munch on. We either got wrong directions or misunderstood and went the wrong way the first time which led to my family walking for 30 minutes in the heat to no avail. Considering that many guests will have to go to the store they should have a small map or written directions. The beach is amazing with warm water and powder sand. I will definitely come back to this property - it can't be beat!

Intimate yet family friendlyPosted 21-Aug-2014
Pros: Quiet and family friendly setting, rooms with kitchenettes, free breakfast at tikki hut by the pool, very gradual slope pool (awesome for little kids)
Cons: A late check-out where/when available would be nice (although they offered to hold our suitcases safely)
Location: Gorgeous beach and great restaurants (both casual and gourmet)
Gorgeous and quiet setting away from the hustle of the big resorts yet only steps from the beach. Walking distance to most restaurants and groceries (Graceway Gourmet), no rental car needed (25 min. cab from airport, about $35). Great beach/towel service and staff very attentive to requests, although on carribbean time. ;) Awesome restaurants nearby but food tends to be a bit on the pricey side.

Comfortable stayPosted 4-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was clean and pool area very nice.
Cons: There needs to be some type of food available, weather it be a restaurant or just room service.
Location: Shopping within walking distance, excursions available for booking through front desk, beautiful beach with easy access across street.
On the whole, the hotel was very nice for the price. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the pool area was clean and pleasingly landscaped. A continental breakfast was provided at no cost every morning. Nothing special, but just enough. Our room had a funky musty smell, but not bad enough to change rooms. The only major drawback was the total lack of food at the hotel. Not only is there no restaurant, but also no room service. There is only a bar for drinks at the pool.

Beautiful full service condo-hotel near Grace BayPosted 1-Jun-2014
Pros: Spacious; modern; all amenities; daily maid service; plenty of towels; nice free breakfast bar
Beautiful place. Kept very clean. Suite very spacious. Downsides - master bed is very high so be sure you can get up on it. Only one bathroom is a minus for 4 people. Walk across the beach through the Grace Bay Club for the beach. Even when you get to the beach, have to walk a ways over through the sand to get to Villa del Mar area. In general people who cannot walk fair distances should stay away from this location, as you not only need to walk to the beach but also to the restaurants nearby. I had an older person in my group and it was not well suited. In general if you want to explore the restaurants on T&C you will need a car as cabs are extremely expensive. They charge per person.
