Well maintained close to the beach.

Posted 9-Feb-2015
Pros: Quiet and well maintained.
Cons: The resort has sufficient space to provide a snack bar that could at least serve hamburgers and hot dogs.
Location: Coco Bistro, make reservations at least three weeks before your trip. In general restaurants will be more expensive on the beach.
Villa del Mar is a not a resort with a lot of activities, it is more a individually owned group of condos. It does have two heated pools, a hot tub and a small cabana bar. They provide a light continental breakfast served at the cabana bar every morning. There is no public transportation and cabs are expensive so plan on doing a lot of walking. I would suggest that you bring snack type foods, such as peanut butter and crackers, packaged tuna to get you through until the evening meal as the restaurants are expensive. Villa del Mar is about half a mile from the grocery store, plan on a trip your first day the desk has maps. Beer will cost you $7.50 and cocktails will run $12.00 to $15.00 on the beach and at the restaurants but the grocery store has liquor and beer in stock, we took insulated mugs and made our own drinks. The ocean is only about a block from the resort, I have walked further than that to get to the ocean from our unit in an ocean front resort so the beach is not an issue. Beach chairs and towels are furnished in the resorts own area on the beach and the cabana boy will bring you drinks if you desire. Other than the fact that you must do a lot of walking I would say this resort is great value for your money.

Beautiful, tranquil getaway! Close to Beach

Posted 11-Jan-2015
Pros: Everything! The room was terrific! The property well kept and the staff was super!
Location: It was a pleasure to walk to restaurants for some meals. Easy walk to Salt Mills if you like to shop. Excursions easy to get to as well.
We just spent 6 nights in this delightful resort. Our room was outstanding with multiple balconies. Up to date furniture, kitchen and baths. (granite & stainless) Beds were great! EVERYONE of their staff members were genuinely, friendly, helpful, cheerful and such a delight! The property is immaculate and very well maintained throughout. Villa Del Mar is located across from the Grace Bay Club (short walk) and has it's own dedicated beach. Easy to get to many restaurants as well as the grocery store. BTW nice little breakfast served every morning poolside. No distracting or annoying music playing, simply peace, serenity a lovely little bar too! This was our first time to Turks and Caicos and were very happy with the island and our stay at Villa Del Mar! Looking forward to coming back!

Exceeded expectations

Posted 14-Dec-2014
Pros: Proximity to the beach, reasonable price, good location.
Cons: They need a better mattress in the pull out couch, or just put a regular bed in the extra room.
Location: Great beach access, walking distance to shopping and restaurants.
This hotel was a bargain price and great value compared to others in a similar location. The rooms were spacious and clean. I stayed in a studio and a suite (split time on another island) and both exceeded expectations, except that the pull out sofa mattress was quite sparse and lumpy. The beach is just steps from the front entrance, along a nicely paved and landscaped path through Grace Bay Resort. The location on Grace Bay was central and walking distance to several shopping and restaurant areas, and close to the grocery store. My only other complaint about the room was that my second room was filled with mosquitoes. Someone had obviously left the door open during a time when they were very active. I told the staff but I only stayed there one night so I don't know if they took care of the problem. I would definitely stay there again.

Best value in Provo

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Check in was quick and room was available. The man at the front desk was not very welcoming...no introduction or explanation of hotel grounds or rules. I didn't even know they offered free breakfast. Other than that, we were very happy with our room. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Wifi worked great. The hotel was almost at full capacity, but you wouldn't have known. We had the pool all to ourselves and we didn't hear any of our neighbors. It's great that they had a grill to bbq if you wanted. Location is perfect..not too far from the grocery store and only a 2 min walk to the beach. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again.

Exceptional value and great property!

Posted 22-Nov-2014
Cons: They're expanding and will be adding a restaurant and bar, which will be great! They need to replace some lawn chairs on the beach.
Location: Amazing location with plenty to do! Snorkeling, fine-dining, laying on the beach... it's all just seconds away!
My wife and I recently stayed at Villa Del Mar, and we truly enjoyed our stay here! Before I get into the details, here's my summary: Exceptional Value. Excellent Property. Good Service. I hope the following information will help you make a decision about staying at Villa Del Mar. Scroll to the bottom of the review to get a few tips to make your stay the best it can be. Overall Stay: We loved our stay at Villa Del Mar, and particularly enjoyed the luxurious rooms at a great price! The property is clean, well kept, and has some amazing views. The staff was friendly and helpful, and their recommendations all turned out to be great ones. The hotel lacks in the food and beverage department, but we knew this going in. The location is so good that you'll never have to worry about walking a few minutes away to get great food and drinks, even some that are right on the beach! I did speak with the Director of Development and Operations, who said they're building across the street and will be adding a restaurant and bar. You can still get drinks at the bar by the pool, but we rarely stayed when we wanted food or drinks. Location is great! Do NOT be worried about the fact the hotel isn't "on the beach." You could easily stay at a larger resort that is technically on the beach, but would have an even further walk to the sand than our walk from Villa Del Mar. You're literally 2 minutes from the beach at Villa Del Mar. Location is great! ROOMS: The only downside was a strong scent of wh

Beautiful and spacious, close to the beach.

Posted 10-Nov-2014
We traveled with our two young children ages 4 and 7. The staff were accommodating in every way and the hotel offers every amenity to complete ones stay. Overall the hotel is quiet and set back from the beach, but truly only a 2min walk. Grace Bay is truly pristine white sand and turquoise water and staffed to fulfill any drink or towel request. Our kids loved it and we felt at ease even during the supposed stormy season, we enjoyed 6 beautiful days of sunshine with only one overcast windy day. After a long day at the beach, relaxing pool side was an easy chore. The hotel was complete with a full in-suite kitchen that facilitated our ability to prepare meals for the kids. Complete with pool side BBQ, this was a real PLUS! Dining out is a real treat, there are plenty of delicious choices walking distance, but be if you are budget conscious be prepared to spend some $$$... Coco Bistro was our favorite! Alternatively, There is a local IGA 10min walking distance that offers up everything needed including wine/beer, and compares to a whole foods grocery store. This hotel is centrally located easy walking distances to all and quietly located off Grace Bay beach... we would definitely return again.
