Great for FamilyPosted 7-Apr-2014
Cons: The breakfast was very inadequate. The manager was inattentive and failed to follow through with us directly when our air conditioning was out!
Location: Location was perfect!
First trip to Turks and Caicos. We absolutely loved it. We liked staying in a place where we had two bedrooms, a patio, a kitchen, and washer/dryer. Great location as well. We could walk to dine, shop, and rent a car. We did not find the staff as helpful and pleasant as we hoped.

Very nice staff - we enjoyed our stayPosted 5-Apr-2014
We had a great time and the hotel. It was quiet, peaceful and the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant. We would come back again and stay at the same place for sure. A very good hotel without paying the high prices. You can't beat the value.

Wonderful boutique hotel in Grace BayPosted 31-Mar-2014
Pros: The hotel was cozy and quiet, which was a nice contrast to the busy high-rise hotels on the beach.
Cons: Expand the breakfast options -- varieties of fruit would be nice, and maybe a voucher for one hot breakfast at Grace Bay Club.
Location: Grace Bay Beach is amazing -- soft white sand, turquoise water, and not too crowded.
My husband and I booked our honeymoon at Villa Del Mar based on the positive reviews, and it did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly, and the 1-br penthouse was wonderful -- spacious and comfortable with a nice patio area that was great for star-gazing. The two pools were quiet and relaxing. Continental breakfast at the poolside bar was basic but adequate, including fresh pastries. Villa Del Mar is just across the street from the beach, and it's one of the nicest sections of Grace Bay beach -- not crowded at all. There are beach attendants for VDM who set up your umbrella/chairs and fresh towels; they will also order food and drinks for you from the nearby Seaside Cafe. The ocean water was calm and smooth the first couple days, then there were larger waves the last couple days which were apparently unusual. There are several restaurants within walking distance of Villa Del Mar, so you don't need a car unless you want to venture further. We quickly realized that it's very expensive to eat out in Turks and Caicos, so we walked to the nearby Graceway Gourmet and stocked up on groceries which helped keep costs down. Travel tip: avoid flying to/from TCI on Saturdays if possible. The airport is old and tiny with no air-conditioning, so it's a very unpleasant place to be on crowded travel days (Saturday is the worst). The airport is currently being renovated so hopefully the situation will improve soon!

Moderately priced quiet villaPosted 18-Feb-2014
Stayed Feb 2014. 4th floor condo, room C402...excellent two bed two bath 3 flat screens full kitchen plus 1/2 kitchen, washer/dryer; very large balcony. Could not ask for more. Staff and indeed everyone we met on Turks & Caicos were extremely polite and very helpful. TCI is a very expensive island at least 2 times state side costs. But Turks is clean and safe.....and expensive, but Villa del Mar an excellent option about a 2 minutes walk to the beach....well managed and we'll maintained. Tip the staff well since they make $5/hr and shop the same expensive IGA stores....e.g., case of beer $70. We were delighted how quiet their two small pools were. ..relaxing...knocked off 5 books in a week plus SNUBAing and horse back riding in the ocean. Both a hoot Dined at Caicos Cafe ....very good! And Mr. GROUPER a neat lower cost local place. Having a rental vehicle is a plus.

Unique LocationPosted 13-Jan-2014
Pros: Location and cleanliness.
Cons: Internet is slow, but I suspect that is an island-wide problem.
Location: Aside from what was said above, it is a short walk to the supermarket, and a car is not needed.
Our visit to Turks and Caicos was sort of a spur of the moment decision made a couple of months ago without the usual planning I put into our many trips and did I get lucky. I chose it primarily because it was half the price of the beachside hotels, but in the main center of activity across the street from the most well-known of its big resorts. What I got was one of the newest, if not the newest, hotel in the area, with the resulting clean, modern rooms with a beautiful pool setting - PLUS a ten foot walk across the street to the eating and beachside activities of two of big seaside hotels (the biggest of which was somewhat disappointing). In other words, for half the price you got everything the big beachside resorts have - with the advantage of "new."

My family (wife, 2 kids - 3 & 8 ) stayed in a one bedroom with den. The pullout couch was perfect for the kids and our bed was deluxe as was the rest of the room. Wonderful spot at half the price of Grace Bay Club which was nice, but not worth the $$$$. Villa del Mar is literally 10 feet away from Grace Bay Club's beaches (which are PUBLIC). Plenty of great service on the beach too: drinks, towel boy, beds and lounge chairs very available during the busiest time: new year's week. Will return soon.

Wonderful room and lovely staffPosted 23-Dec-2013
My wife had just finished 2 weeks at the Turkoise Club Med and then stayed at Villa Del Mar for a couple days prior to returning home. It was the perfect way to end our visit to Turks & Caicos. After dorm style living at Club Med, we loved the spacious wonderfully comfortable room at Vila Del Mar. Not much to get excited about the pool, but the amazing beach is only a block away and has a special section for Villa Del Mar guests. All of the staff seemed to go out of their way to greet and smile at us so we felt very welcome despite our short stay. The Continental breakfast was quite adequate and the room amenities allowed us to stock up at the local supermarket. There were endless nice little touches like fresh bougainvillia blossoms sprinkled around the bathroom.

If you want to be close to the beach without paying beachfront prices, this is the place. Although it is in need of some maintenance, I would still recommend Villa del Mar. It is within walking distance to the beach, the supermarket, and to several restaurants. The pool is nice, but small. There is plenty of parking if you rent a car (which I would recommend). The only downside is that the facility needs a good cleaning and some paint.

LIttle bit of ParadisePosted 26-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
This is a very lovely villa located in the very popular Grace Bay area. The courtyard boasts two pools. The grounds are impeccably manicured and well taken care of by staff. The villas are beautifully styled with very modern furnishings. My unit was equipped with all the comforts of home ie, microwave oven, fridge, utensils, plates, glasses, vacuum cleaner, washer dryer. A complimentary continental breakfast is served in the courtyard in the morning and free wi-fi in each unit. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Located steps to the beach and walking distance to restaurants, shops , casino and golfing. This is a wonderful place to stay in Providenciales. I would most definitely recommend staying at The Villa Del Mar.

Pros: The convenience to just about everything. Many wonderful lunch and dinner options were available within walking distance.
Cons: We had some difficulty with the air conditioner in the particular condo we rented as it worked too well.
Location: The condo was very close to the beach, many wonderful eating establishments, snorkeling, diving, as well as a little shopping.
We had a great time and met what we hope will be lifelong friends. The condo was not right on the beach but was close enough that I would definitely stay there again. The staff was friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything from dinner reservations to car rental assistance.
