Beacon Lounge - Bay and sunset views from 10th-floor lounge. Live entertainment Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
Recreation
The hotel offers a glass-domed indoor pool and a fitness center with spa tub and sauna. The Traverse Area Recreation Trail, a popular path for walkers, joggers, skaters, and bicyclists, runs along West Bay past the hotel.
West Bay Beach is two blocks from the hotel. Several golf courses are in the area, which also is known for its winter sports activities such as ice-boat races on the bay. The town also hosts the National Cherry Festival each July.

“Great Location and comfy beds”
We went up to Traverse City for the night. Although it snowed in April, we had a great time at the hotel. From the outside the hotel looks older, but the rooms are recently renovated and the beds were VERY comfortable. We had a room on the eighth floor and a view of the bay, it was very beautiful. Also within walking distance of downtown.

We stayed in the new wing. The room was large and the beds were super comfortable. The bath room included a sink, plus a 2nd sink in the dressing area. There was a connecting door to the next room, so this could have easily been turned into a suite. The area was very quite, even though right down town. The only minus was the on site resturant. I would not recomend breakfast there. The service was slow, and the food was not worth the price. Try the coffee shop 1 block north. Kids enjoyed the pool, with the dome roof.

“Cute historic hotel”
The hotel is charming with a very cozy feel. It is very close to the shops on Front Street (1 block!), not to mention a great breakfast place! It was easy to find, and the Chateau Grand Traverse Winery was a short drive away. Lots to see and do near the hotel. Would stay there again on my next trip.

Huge room. Balcony with views of Lake Michigan. Extra dressing area with sink and mirror. Beautiful decor. Helpful, friendly staff.
“Excellent hotel with great charm”
Hotel and staff were great. Bar is great place to get a beer and grab a quick bite to eat. Only complaint was with the exercise room. Wasn't open the first night I was there. The second night was full of people who were not staying at the hotel. They made a point of joking about "why join a gym when we can come here"

“Great Traverse City hotel”
We were looking for a place to get away at in Traverse City and were so pleased with the Park Place. The room was simple, but very comfortable. Room service was prompt and the staff was very helpful with suggestions of things to do. The only thing that we disliked was the fact that the pool and fitness center are open to the public. This made for a lot of extra kids in the pool and extra people using the workout equipment. All in all though, we'll be back.
“Nice, comfortable, and very convenient”
My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend and enjoyed it very much. The location is perfect for walking to shops, restaurants, and brewpubs. The hotel has a stately feel to it. The standard King we were in was decorated nicely and the bed was hard to get out of! Nice! The only minor "grumbles" we had about the place were: 1)the elevators were very slow (and there were a lot of people waiting to use them) and 2)in the morning, about 7am-8am, the water pipes "hammered" loudly periodically which I understand is water-pressure related (lots of pressure) and common in older hotels. We were already awake so it didn't concern me too much. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends who visit TC often!
