“Beautiful location in Koh Chang”

Loved the spectacular views and accommodating staff. Nice buffet breakfast. Peacocks roaming the grounds really added to the ambience. Would like less sugary drinks at the swim up bar. Would've like to be warned of the many steps...lots of climbing involved.

“STAY AWAY FROM AIYAPURA!”

After reviewing a number of options on Koh Chang for our honeymoon we opted for the Aiyapura. The first thing you should know about this hotel is that it is rather isolated. We found some taxis that hardly want to take you there. On the night we arrived the "ocean view" room we had reserved was not what we were offered. Yes, it was during the Thai New Year, but they offered no solutions other than to say they were "very busy." The rooms were not all that clean and the towels and other amenities were not even close to the standard of a four-star hotel and the walls seemed stained/dirty and the bathroom was not clean (especially under the sink). The next day the hotel pool appeared a sickening color of green. Oh joy! A sign stated they were cleaning the pool for the entire day. What? Why would they choose to do this during such a busy time? And why did they let the pool get so dirty that it was green before posting a note that they intended to clean it (they never did by the way)? The buffet breakfast was horrible, drinks ordered at the bar took an inordinate amount of time. When we talked to the hotel staff and managment about a refund they gave us the runaround and the General Manager was uncooperative and dishonest in dealing with us and Expedia representatives regarding a refund. We ended up leaving after 2 nights and stayed at another resort (a fastastic experience in contrast to Aiyapura).
