“excellent value for money”
Hotel was refurbished, customer service was excellent. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. Had to turn the fridge off at night as the noise of it echoed inside the cupboard it was in. Wi-fi was too low to use in room, usable outside tho excellent in the lobby. Bar up the road - patio bar adjacent to another motel - provided nice views, beer & food, only a short walk away. (Didn't try the restaurant connected with the Ho-Jo's.)
“Close to Capitol Reef National Park - Good value”
I stayed in March while visiting Capitol Reef National Park. The hotel was a bit hard to find as the sign was confusing. But once there, it was fine. The room was spacious and clean and the rate was great. Breakfast was included - cereal, toast, waffles, coffee. The best thing was that it was just minutes from the Park entrance so we could get going on our hikes. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but there is one in front of hotel, although it is closed in the off season.
“Highly recommended”
This is a very good hotel. The building is fairly new. it's rooms are spacious, clean, and very well equipped (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV, phone, etc.). The breakfast, with real and decent food, is included. In terms convenience, it's one of the closest hotels to Capitol Reef NP's visitor center, about 2 miles closer than Days Inn is. The hotel is right next to a gas station which makes refueling very easy. In addition, there is a Mexican restaurant in the same plaza. The room rate is very reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay at this place and recommend it highly to people visiting Capitol Reef NP. BTW, this hotel's name was changed recently from Hidden Fall to Howard Johnson and thus may not show up on your GPS if you have not updated your map in the last couple of years.
“Howard Johnson Torrey proche de Capitol Reef”
Hôtel parfait pour une escale à Capitol Reef. Personnel sympathique et à votre écoute. Petit déjeuner compris et sympa pour le type d'hôtel
“Hugely Enjoyable Stay”
This hotel was my base for exploring Capitol Reef National Park, and it surpassed all my expectations. The moment I walked in the front door to reception I was warmly greeted and checked in without any hassle at all. The desk clerk gave me some great tips on places to see and places to eat locally, he also arranged a room for me with awesome views of part of the National Park. The room itself was very clean and very well maintained, with excellent facilities. I was on the top floor at the rear of the hotel facing some of the cliffs of Capitol Reef, a great view to wake up to. Though the wifi signal was non existent in my room, it wasn't a problem as there was a large comfy seating area in reception where the signal was at it's strongest. I found the maid service to be thorough and very efficient. The hotel itself is located about 2 miles outside the town of Torrey, towards Capitol Reef, and the drive to the park itself on a morning is fantastic, only taking about 10 minutes, and boasting some excellent views. Next door to the hotel is a pretty well stocked gas station, with pay at pumps service 24hrs. Attached to the gas station is a very tasty Mexican Restaurant, 'La Cueva', where the staff are very friendly and the service is good. Breakfast at the hotel was the best I had in 3 weeks of travelling. The small town of Torrey is maybe about another 2 miles down the road and offers more dining options and a few shops, I think there was even a Subway sandwich shop there.
“Welcome stay after a late night drive”
I was 3 hours late from my flight and called the hotel at 10:45 or so pm. Garret, hotel manager said" we were wondering about you?" I'm still coming but 3hours away. He explained I need only ring the door bell and he'd let me in. And Garret was actually waiting at the window at 2 am for me to come in. He gave me a room key and said we'll settle in the morning and he was there in the breakfast room making the coffee, filling the juice, making certain every waffle was perfect and visiting with the hotel guests. He was gracious and caring. He is a good host and manager. He needs to buy 300 or so new pillows but all was clean and serviceable and thats all I need when I'm out all day.
“Easy to find & very neat & clean”
After traveling all day & being totally drained it was nice to see the hotel from the highway. Close to the Park we wanted to visit. The room was clean & had a nice home away from home feeling. Thanks
“An Oasis”
This was our favorite stay of our week-long tour of the Southwest. The view was superb. The hotel was clean. The staff was very attentive. The price was right. We wish every hotel was as nice and comfortable as this place. We would definitely stay here again.
“Howard Johnson, Torrey, Utah”
The singular best experience we have ever had at any hotel, period. The host was very pleasant and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant. I could not recommend any hotel more.
“Great value!!!!!”
Great location! We could see Capitol Reef from our hotel room. Staff is very nice and friendly. Great complementary breakfast. Definitely worth the price.
