Christmas stay 2023
The room was basic but spacious. No minibar in the room and the taps in the sink were not mixer taps so the kids had to wash their hands with cold. The food could have been better for vegetarians especially main meals. There was only ever 1 option or a jacket potato. Staff were amazing and the entertainment was great. The kids loved it, especially the evening disco. Soft play, bowling and the swimming pool were a hit. The hotel is a little dated and could do with a refurb but otherwise our stay was lovely. They made it special for Christmas with lots of mulled wine and miced pies for treats. We will defo be going back. Martin and Jude in the restaurant were especially great with the kids. Ella in the kids club was my daughters favorite.

As always it was amazing, the place is lovely, the staff are amazing, the barman in the starlight lounge, the manager in the restaurant and Abi on reception were the best, as were the 4 entertainment staff members, the food is always excellent as well

Stayed 3 nights. Staff friendly. Hotel worn around the edges but clean. Lots of entertainment if you like cabaret type singing etc. Breakfast buffet was basic but filling. However the young waiting staff at dinner need a bit of training with regards to behaviour around guests at the end of service as more interested in going home than ensuring we were ok. Was a rushed experience so best to get there early. All in all a decent hotel.

This was our second stay at TLH, having previously stayed in the Victoria hotel. Breakfast was great, but it would've been nice if it was available a little later than 9:45 every morning. We didn't use the outdoor pool, but the indoor pools were superb, keeping the kids entertained for hours. Great location, just a few minutes walk to the beach and 15 minutes to Torquay town centre. The only gripe with this stay compared to the last was that the parking is now chargeable unless you hve booked direct with TLH. It was £10 per 24 hours. Other than that, everytjing was perfect.

I had discussed vulnerabilities of my disabled parents with TLH staff whilst booking and was assured that they would be well looked after, this was not the case. Inappropriate rooms were issued for disabled guests. Stairs up and down to either of the disabled room's. Arguing over the rooms with staff while my 86 year old farther stood by on his crutches for 30 minutes after travelling for 3 hours.

We have stopped here a few times before, it has gone from a semi personal service to a self service. Mattress lumpy needs to be replaced, very uncomfortable.

Overall facilities very good but needs updating
We only had 1 night for a family get together to celebrate birthdays The facilities are very good overall but very out dated carpets need renewing and painting to freshen up, which I think they are undertaking in some areas. Great for kids lots to do and in a good location with bus stand outside and a town train as well. Would recommend, Price quite reasonable would be happy to pay more if updated. Entertainment was good.

Great hotel complex!
This was my 2nd time at the resort, I have found it a great place to stay on my own for a mini break. A very reasonable price for all that is on offer. It's lovely to relax by the outdoor pool or go for a swim in the indoor pool (really nice temperature!). I've had a pedicure both times which is in a lovely relaxing spa area and the entertainment is great, love music, karaoke and disco all in one evening! The rooms have been perfectly comfortable, all round recommend!

Felt dated
Stayed 1 night in a double room 303. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. However like the room the hotel felt tired and dated. Uneven floors that creaked in the bathroom with old sealant around the bath, claustrophobic corridors where only one person could pass and just a dated feel to the building. The full English breakfast was average which I had, I didn’t have anything else but the rest that was to offer looked fresh and nicely lauded out. I was told that someone would come ask if I had any special requests but nobody came. The hotel is a five minute walk down the hill from the beach which is great and a fifteen minute walk from town. Would I stay again? Probably not, I’d rather pay extra for something more modern. 5.5/10

Thank you for your feedback. You are correct that the corridors are narrow - the building originates from the 1800's however our facilities are very modern and really can't be beaten. Hopefully you had a chance to enjoy a swim in one of our 3 pools, or have a drink al fresco on our large terrace or maybe you were able to use our spa and and thermal suite offering a Fire and Ice experience. We also have a full programme of day time activities and nightly entertainment.which customers enjoy so much more than 70% repeat their booking with us. Thank you for staying with us and we do hope that you will consider The Derwent or one of the other TLH hotels if you return to Torquay.

I was put next to generator and the most annoying part, I don't know if corridors are to tiny but everyone was hitting the door with their luggage early in the morning. Alarm went off at 7:40 in the morning, housekeeping entered without knocking. Overall was OK. Staff is nice.
