“Great Experience! Will Be Back!”
Perfect location! Right across from subway station! Less than half a block from Yonge so very close to coffee shops and shopping! Two restaurants next door. In the midst of all this the hotel itself is quiet, comfortable. It has the feel of a bed and breakfast place: no breakfast but with the privacy of a hotel.
“very convenience and very clean. friendly staff!”
location is great! staff is friendly. hotel is clean and quiet condsidering the location.
“Great location”
The Wellesey manor is opposite Wellesley subway stop and 5 mins walk from Yonge Street. This is a fantastic location: very central and a safe area to get to/from, also easy to arrive from the airport. There is a pub next door to the hotel but I only heard 'overspill' noise when I had the window open. The room was nicely decorated and comfy. It's not super-luxury, but it was above average niceness, the staff were helpful, it was well cleaned, and I would go back. Good complimentary toiletries, no breakfast facilities in the hotel but fridge, microwave and coffee maker in room were a nice touch. Oh - there are lots of stairs in this hotel as it's a converted Victorian house. I was fine with these, and imagine most people would be, but elderly people or people with difficulties in their legs might not find this manageable.
“Pretty good, but not great”
Good location, but the room was not clean. A good amount of dirt and grime in the corners and places that were not easy clean (but were plainly visible). Several buttons on the tv remote were broken. That said, the place had charm. Not sure I would go back for the room, but I like the location just off Yonge St.
“You get what you pay for!”
If you are looking to be pampered in a lavish hotel; this spot isn't for you. But if you are just looking for a place to sleep at night this is your spot! The man running it is extremely nice and will do anything in his power to make your stay the best he can. The hotel is very quiet. My room was small but nice. The bed was real comfortable. Shower curtain ran small so I had to clean up after every shower. Satellite TV had sooo many channels! And your room come with a fridge. The location is nice. Right across the street from the subway. But there is no free parking!!! there is a parking lot next to the gas station closet (8 min walk east of the hotel) to the hotel for $6(CAD) for all day parking. other than that you are paying $20(CAD)+ for overnight parking. Wifi doesnt always work. only 1 iron in the hotel. There are a lot of different restaurants within walkable distance from the hotel, a extremely quiet hospital right next to it on the left of the hotel, a nice bar/restaurant on the right. So to sum it all up; if you are going to be spending a lot of time in your hotel THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU! If you are looking to be pampered THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU! If your stress out over ever small detail THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU! and If you have a car THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU! But if you plan on going out to bars, clubs, restaurants, shopping malls, etc and only need a place to sleep comfortable without any interruptions, THIS PLACE IS PERFECT FOR YOU!!!!
“Wellesley manor”
There is NO FRONT DESK, just hallways of rooms. The decor is beautiful. The rooms are very tastefully decorated. BUT there is no where to put clothes, no drawers no closets, there isnt even a place to put your suitcase other than the floor or bed. There are hangers on the wall. I had to phone to get a stool to put down my suitcase. I have never seen a place where there is no person on duty other than by phone. When you first arrive, you press the bell and are told [after a considerable wait] to go to room X where you will be met by the manager. After that you are on your own. The TV was so complicated I gave up trying to figure out the remote. Never again. For all its beauty, this place was very upsetting.
“Smallest room I've ever stayed in”
Room was just a single bed with two drawers under it and no other clothes storage. Aircon was noisy (not just fan, but also intermittant scuttling noises that were quite disruptive). Paid a little more for a much better experience at one of Expedia's secret saver hotels in downtown Toronto.
