“Very Impressed”
The hotel staff was excellent--they worked hard to make you very satified--the room was large and extremely clean. Location was excellent for dinning and shopping. Can't wait to return.
“Best Boutique Hotel in Toronto”
Starting from the doorman and check-in the atmosphere was relaxed pleasant but still very sophisticated. No large crowds in the lobby. Total attention to detail. The room was amazing. Modern decor. No sound from other rooms could be heard. Room had every sophisticated gaget imagineable: from remote control drapes to heated floor in the bathroom as well as a TV in the mirror. The shower was separate from the bath and exquisite with a rainshower shower-head. This hotel could have every reason to be arrogant in the attitude but isn't! I lived many years in Toronto and know many hotels but htis one is my favorite.
“Lived up to the Hype.”
Had a great time. Room was comfortable and quiet with 5 star amenities.
“My romantic anniversary weekend at the Hazelton”
Friendly greeting and well appointed lobby. Room was spacious, beautiful, extremely clean with a huge bathroom complete with marble, heated floor, built in TV in the large mirror, phone next to the commode and two different water nozzles in the shower made it into a relaxing rain forest shower in a sparkling, glass enclosed shower stall next to the jacuzzi tub where you could watch TV in the mirror. A convenient bar with built in refrigerator stocked with wine, water and soft drinks. The concierge was a fountain of knowledge and made us reservations at two outstanding restaurants within walking distance. Shopping was superb and within 10 minute walk. Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing weekend and would come back. The Hazelton is truly one of Toronto's gems.
“Movie Stars and Insider Tips”
Ronaldo and Dean are the best concierges EVER! They gave me fabulous restaurant recommendations (OPUS rocks!) and called ahead to make sure there would be a seat at the bar when I arrived. The level of customer service they provide is out of this world - speaking with them was like talking to a best friend who is always in the know and loves when they can share their knowledge with you. Bonus: I swear I spotted Donald Sutherland on the patio! Awesome!
“First Class Act...”
This was truly a first class act. My boyfriend and I traveled to Toronto for my birthday weekend and he travels frequently and usually stays at the Westin. So i booked us there the first night and the other 2 nights at the Hazelton. Although the Westin had an amazing view, everything else was horrible. So when we arrived at the Hazelton we really wasn't expecting as much as they had to offer. From the time we arrived we were always promptly greeted with a smile from valet, front desk, concierge, housekeeping the restaurant ALL first class service. The room was beautiful, the bar fully stocked, bed turned down at night when we returned each night, complimentary wi-fi, business center such polar opposite treatment than that of Westin. I can't wait to go back and stay at their gorgeous hotel. It may not have the view of Lake Ontario but it is positioned in a quiet, shopping area and the food at "One" was great! Thanks Hazleton for giving me more than I expected...
“Wish we'd had a balcony, not a dumpster view, but the service was superb!”
The service in this hotel is possibly the best I've known - the concierge was extraordinary! The neighborhood is delightful - great for night-time dining and day-time walking and shopping. I was treated to complimentary car service in a mint Mercedes each morning as I went to my conference. My sons, 18 and 13, loved the pool (beautiful!) and the rainfall showers. My one complaint is that we had a room overlooking a courtyard with a dumpster in it and construction debris. This made it less enjoyable to hang out in the room.
“Beware of surprise charges”
I stayed at the hotel for three nights. I prepaid by stay with expedia. After the first night I got an invoice for additional charges beyond the expedia payment. These were removed only after vehement protest that they could not charge more than the expedia rate. Then, after my second night, I received an invoice for "hotel marketing fees" reflecting the cost of the hotel marketing efforts! Again, these were additional undisclosed fees. Finally, upon my return to Los Angeles, I discovered they had made additional charges to my credit card that were not authorized. While the room was surperb, and the service was otherwise excellent, I cannot recommend this hotel because I will not tolerate these kind of billing tactics.
