“A different hotel experience”
Not your typical hotel experience - good size rooms set up with kitchenettes - nominal fees for parking - within walking distance of trendy Queen Street West/Spadina galleries, boutiques, clubs, etc. Feel like you are immersed in a great neighbourhood.
“Would definitely recommend”
Great customer service. They have someone at the front desk 24/7. I got drunk one night and lost my keys, the charge for new keys was $10. They let me in right away though after they verified my information. The next day I threw up on the carpet. The cleaning lady had already ended her shift but they sent her to my room to clean up which was very nice of them. I left the cleaning lady a tip. It's a little tricky to get there which is the only con. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel because it is cheap and close to a lot of bars and within walking distance of the main attractions in downtown.
“Great location, great people, SAFE neighborhood, cheap parking - all OK”
This is a great budget place. When reading reviews one must be careful to read between the lines. Many comments were about the "Sketchy" neighborhood, which, if you prefer the modern shopping areas to surround you, is certainly not for you. If you want to stay in a real neighborhood, this is for you. Some people just feel uncomfortable being around people "poorer" than they are. How sad. Manager was great. Could not set up wireless immediately and he came up to the room and got it done right away. Free wireless/LAN connection, 3 local newspapers, $4 parking (vs. $19 at the Super 8 down the street), nice little kitchen, great water pressure and a nice bathtub. Very nice and helpful staff. Cheapest in downtown area, great location. I hope that if anyone has a REAL problem, they will report it, instead of just complaining because things may be "different" from their norm. The manager summed it up perfectly - "it's not fancy, but we try to make it comfortable." It's a great place We stayed 2 nights and would go back in a Texas heartbeat.
“The Grange is Great!”
Great location! Also extremely cheap and convenient parking! Helpful staff as well.
“best for your money”
This is a hotel with all features of a studio, clean and confortable. It is a little far from downtown, so it will be better if you have a car. Best for your money, perfect for families.
“ill go back”
clean and cozy, just steps from toronto's chinatown and shopping districts.
“Toronto on a budget”
A great little hotel for those with a small budget. A little far from the very centre, but still less than a 20min walk from most places.Friendly and helpful staff, adequately equiped rooms, and a good view of the CN tower to boot.
“Good value for money”
This hotel might not be the most fashionable in the world but it was cheap, clean, quiet and friendly. If you`re here for a few games at Rogers Centre then its only a 15min walk and just being off Queen St means theres plenty of bars and shops all within easy walking distance.Might as well have some more spending money in your pocket than paying high prices for practically the same type of room in many of these other dearer hotels! There`s also a fridge, microwave and a good selection of cable channels as well(especially sports)
“I'll go back”
You may be wary at first when you wander down the side street to get to the hotel, but don't be discouraged. The hotel is located in a fun district and is not far from the touristy spots like the CN Tower. The room was clean, had a small kitchenette, so is perfect for budget travelers and for people making short visits.
“just basic”
It was good for what I wanted, just a basic room for a night close to downtown.
