“Super 8 Toronton is SUPERB”
Coming to the end of a 6 week trip in Canada and having stayed at several hotels and motels along the way, it was a delight to check into Super 8 Downtown Toronto. The hotel is new and well maintained, the staff so polite and very courteous, the complimentary breakfast provided was very tasty, with great healthy options available. Now we're back home in New Zealand and even now a few months later still think highly of the hotel.
“great value”
I think this place would be hard to beat value wise. Cons: The room wasn't spotless - but on par with most mid-priced hotels i suppose. Also, i had a security card issue at check-in. Pros: The room was large and comfortable. I really enjoyed the Chinatown location. Tons of restaurants, fun shopping, and a pleasant walk to CN Tower, downtown, & Queen Street. There were a few shady characters in the area, but overall I was shocked how safe it seemed and how hardly any panhandlers were around asking for money. A vastly different experience than DT Vancouver or Chicago or even Minneapolis. When I come back to Toronto again this hotel/neighborhood will be my first choice.
“great hotel don't let the price decieve you”
I had a really good stay, I couldn't of asked for anything more. However, make sure you get a room with a window room. When I first got there they gave me a room overlooking the inside of a mall. But I asked to and they were really nice about it and moved me to a room with a fantastic view right away. Overall great experience and a really convinient location.
“Great Location”
Clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. I wasn't expecting it to be on top of a Chinatown shopping mall, and didn't expect my window to be facing out into said mall, but once I got used to the idea I felt very comfortable and at home in the hotel. The bar in the hotel is practically nonexistent, and the staff in the "Comfort Zone" when I visited could not really speak English. The breakfast options were very limited, but we were still glad to have something available. Make sure you talk to someone at the desk about parking- we paid the hotel for our parking pass and we got a huge discount. We left our car in the garage during our stay and used public transport, but you can also get a special pass that allows you to come and go as you please. Either way, you will save a lot of money on parking through Super 8!
“All around great hotel!”
This is an all around great hotel. Myself and a friend stayed here for two nights in April...what a great find! It is in an amazing location and is totally serene amidst the chaos that is Chinatown. For anyone coming to TO that wants a nice hotel close to all the attractions, this is the place. It would have been a steal at twice the price! Planning to stay again on our next girl's weekend away.
“Top quality, low(ish) price”
It would be hard to speak too highly of this hotel. For two first-time visitors to Toronto, it set an overall positive tone for the whole of our ten-day stay. The lobby, corridors and room were spotlessly clean and the hotel staff were helpful and attentive. We were not expecting luxury, but the level of comfort was considerably above-average for a hotel in this price-range. The central and colourful (Chinatown) location is interesting in itself and is within easy walking-distance of most downtown locations. Streetcar transport is on the doorstep and the nearest subway station is close by. The self-service breakfast is basic but again more than adequate. All in all, top marks to this hotel. Nothing wrong at all? Well, the lift was a little temperamental but, with a little patience and persistence, usually ended up by doing it was told.
“Chinatown Super 8. Value priced. Better than expected.”
I've stayed at chain motels in downtown Toronto before and have been pleased. This was no exception. The room was well maintained and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is classic Chinatown. Next trip to Toronto, I'll probably stay again.
“Chinatown hotel”
Nice clean hotel in Chinatown close to everything. Breakfast was OK and gym could have been better. Will go again
“go back again”
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Room was large and clean, not much of a view but who cares? Breakfast was ideal. Location was convenient. Surrounding neighbourhood was a bit grubby but not far from the attractions. Worth the money.
“Close to China town”
This is a very clean hotel in China town. The room is big and clean. The lobby is bright and feel very comfortable. We sat in lobby a lot. One computer is in the lobby with free internet connection. Free breakfast is good. Parking is underground with extra fee. Parking lot is kind of dark and feel unsave. From 8am to 6 pm, $2 for every half hour up to $8 max; and from 6pm to 8 am, $2 for every half hour and up to $6 max. We got in at 4:10pm and we did not use the car for three nights stay, we left before 8am on my check out day. I paid $42 parking. When you get out, you insert you parking ticket, and the machine will let you know the total, then ask you to pay coins or by visa or master card. A lot of good Chinese restaurants near by. There are microwave and small frig in the room. I will stay this hotel again! I can see CN tower from the room, and about 20 min walk to the CN tower. I took taxi to Casa Lama, it costs me $15 include tip. City hall and Eaten center is about half hour walk away.
