“Great Hotel in Toronto”
Would definitely stay here again when back in Toronto. Centrally located. Great room. View was only of a parking lot but the room itself made up for it. Pleasant service, easy parking.
“The Complete Hotel Experience”
I stay in a lot of hotels and the Soho Metropolitan compares with some of the best I have been to in Canada and the USA. I enjoy hotels where the staff are low key but professional and this was my experience at the Soho.Wireless Internet connection in the room was erratic and slow. This was my only complaint. Unlike another Hotel where I stayed in in Toronto a week before, when I asked for a Taxi to be called I was told to stand on the side walk(with my luggage no less) and hail one myself! Of course the concierge at the Soho did not tell me to go to the side walk but graciously orderded me one. Soho has the most luxiourious bedding - soft down duvets however being allergic they changed the duvet without hesitation. Being a woman I also judge hotels by the products in the bathroom - great shower gel & shampoo - I am sorry I did not take some home with me :). Also more than enough towels and toilet paper - another two of my strange ways of rating hotels. This hotel is also right in the Entertainment district - so was able to walk to the Royal Alexanra Theatre to see Carrie Fisher's one woman play, TIFF Bell Lightbox as well as The Second City comedy club which is right across the street from the Soho. Food wise there is lots ot choose from in the hotel as well as very close by. For the late risers there is Coras which serves delightful breakfast until 3pm!
“Outstanding hotel choice”
Beautiful hotel inside and out, clean and modern, hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Great location near Toronto's landmarks, walking distance from CN Tower and Roger's Stadium as well as the more popular neighborhoods, restaurants, and museums. Sen5es restaurant provided a warm and inviting atmosphere, note that it is closed Sundays and Mondays. Pricey, but it's to be expected in downtown Toronto. Overall, we had a great stay and would highly recommend SoHo.
“Excellent in all respects”
Great room and location - near Skydome (Rogers Center) and close to the great waterfront.
“Great hotel”
Loved this hotel. Clean, modern and in a good location. Excellent service!
“A wonderful night away!”
My boyfriend & I greatly enjoyed our one night stay at the SoHo Hotel. It was clean, modern, comfortable and the customer service was amazing! The only downfall was that they forgot to deliver our breakfast in the morning, we called a half an hour after the desired deliver time & they apologized profusely & seemed extremely embarrassed by the situation. They delivered it right away and did not charge us for it. We understand that mistakes happen but the fact that they didn't charge us for it made it 100% better! Over-all - awesome hotel!
“Warmth and hospitality in an elegant hotel”
Toronto is a beautiful city. The staff at the SoHo guided us to lovely local restaurants and reminded us of special weekend acitivities, made reservations for shows always with enthusiasm. When our rental car plans fell through they even tried to help despite the difficult circumstances of a holiday weekend. The bar at the hotel was modern and cozy. The bathrooms had heated floors, the lighting and mirrors better than any hotel I've been in for a long time. All of us in our group of four would stay here again and again. We loved the people, the decor, the ambience. They even had dragon fruit for breakfast! The only disadvantage is that the metro is a bit of a walk....but perhaps it is good to be off the beaten path.
“Quite a treat”
The Metropolitan staff are extremely cordial, polite and professional. The hotel decor is simple and elegant. The flower arrangements were unique and quite a treat. The food is top rate in both restaurants. I would stay there again in a second.
“Like sleeping in the elevator”
I love trying out new hotels in Toronto and New York, my favorites are Le Germaine and 60 Thompson. SoHo Metropolitan has a great location and style but their rooms have a gap at the bottom of the door you can see through. Needless to say, we could literally hear the footsteps of anyone walking by. I jammed a towel under the door but it didn't help much. They put us in their entry level room which is a "Harry Potter under the stairs" jammed-in room right off the elevator bank. As in eight feet from the call button. We could hear every ding and conversation. In the morning I woke up to the sound of the newspaper hitting the floor outside of my room. When I complained to the front desk they said they were booked and offered no solution or apology, reiterating that it was only an entry level room. Sleeping in a tent in the lobby would be about the same level of privacy.
“Great location”
Very comfortable and clean. Great location. Easy access for parking. Nice lounge. Food expensive, best to go out of hotel with many options available.
