“Who designed this place?”
Horrible room layout. The three day stay started with the terrible smell of vomit in our bed, clear into the mattress - eventually moved us into the same room on a different floor. We could not get the temperature to adjust and it was extremely hot through the three days. The bathroom has absolutely no place to put a travel bag or set a curling iron or makeup bag. The sink has a very very small counter and is very poorly laid out. We were told our room had one of the best layouts but the suite gave you 12 inches to move past the end of the bed to the bathroom, the tv was in the small room by the bed, ended up staring at the kitchenette from the only two seats in the room. Very poorly designed - no place to plug in the cell phone or ipad - except above the microwave, 24 inches above the kitchen counter top - and that plug disconnected when you shut the lights out. The only small counter space was taken up by a bar fridge - which should have been set on the floor - except there was no place to put it. A great concept poorly executed - the washer and dryer were great ideas - but at the expense of an effective kitchenette area - the computer table was very oddly placed in the room and had only one plug. We chose this hotel because of the location, which turned out to be the only good thing. The rooms are definitely NOT designed by a person who has travelled, it was inconvenient and a very frustrating place to stay.
“Great downtown TO Hotel”
Great hotel in a great location for visiting Toronto. Everything is within walking distance and you can even reach most of it through the underground PATH. My only complaint with the hotel was the carpet needed either a good wash or needed to be replaced, relatively minor though.
“What a Find”
When another booking fell through a little research turned up One King West. What luck. A super hotel in a brilliant location. Room rates were reasonable. Room was very comfortable and clean. I particularly liked the valet parking. The stff was really friendly, especially the waitress in the restaurant. The breakfast was good however I didn't like having to go down a flight of stairs to get to the buffet. All in all I thought then hotel was a great find and will definitely use it again. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
“Disappointed with the results of my premium suite”
I booked the premium suite based on the web site picture. I was very disappointed. The suite was small and outdated. The walls and carpets were stained. Not at all like advertised! So much for my well anticipated 5 day retreat with my daughter and new baby! The suite was to be our little oasis of time together ... So disappointed.
“can't wait to go back”
Downtown close to the Canadian Opera and the Theatre district makes it a prime location, easy access to key shopping and nice stroll to the Distillery District.
“Downtown business district hotel”
This hotel is located in the business district of Toronto, which makes it perfect for business meetings or such, but it's a pretty boring area for a vacation. Although, it's not far from the lake front, if you want to take a walk, it's walking distance to CN tower, and it's right by the train and buses, which can take you places and site seeing. They have the friendliest staff, extremely attentive and the rooms are pretty clean overall. The hotel itself is old and you can see that in the furniture and some stains on the floor and bed skirt and ceiling, but it's still clean. Breakfast is expensive at the "buffet" downstairs, but everything in Toronto is pretty expensive.
“Home away in Toronto”
Great apartment hotel in Downtown Toronto. Walking distance to Eaton Centre, and loads of great restaurants. Rooms are a bit on the small side, but the facilities are good. Kitchenettes and in-room washer dryer are a plus for traveling with family or for extended stay.
“Best 4 Star Value Downtown”
This hotel is easily the best value in downtown Toronto when you get it for the right price. Booked a room for the film festival and it is within walking distance to all the theaters and close to anything you'd ever want.
“Excellent location”
This hotel is in the middle of everything - right at a subway station, on King at Yonge and a short walk to the Eaton Centre. The room was a bit small, and our window just looked out to an internal open space - but it was very quiet and we had a great night of sleep. I would happily book here again.
“Great hotel”
Wonderful hotel great views in the heart of the financial district
