“Quite nice for the cost.”

The hotel itself is nice. The furnishings are slightly worn, but everything is clean. The so-called "continental breakfast" is actually some buns and croissants in a case on a counter in the lobby. We enjoyed our stay, but the staff does leave something to be desired. The man who checked me in was friendly and cheerful, but the man who worked the night shift spent as lot more time wandering around the hotel than he did staying near the front desk. And when I checked out in the morning, the man behind the desk talked on the phone while he checked me out, rather than putting the caller on hold or asking if I could wait until he was finished. I would stay again, and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't need to be able to speak to the staff for any specific reason.

“Way Too Loud”

The hotel is very nice if a little dated and the staff was friendly and helpful. The problem is that the walls of the rooms are cardboard thin: you hear everything that goes on, and it went on all night long. Bring earplugs or stay elsewhere.

“A very good hotel for the price, everything as described in their web page”

This was a very nice hotel for the price. The rooms were kept very clean especially the bathroom - which I checked thoroughly each day. The microwave and mini fridge were very convient to have in the room. Free internet worked great and the tv of course. The bed was surprisingly comfortable as well as the couch, I had no problem sleeping at night, it was very quite. I honestly was expecting more problems because of hotel rating - 2 stars but is really more on par with a 4 star rating The staff were very friendly and helpful to me both during check in and out and with any questions I might have had. There are at least a dozen places to eat nearby both fast foods type of venues and regular restaurants -( Italian, asian etc.) , a supermartket and pharmacy store. The free breakfast was decent, not 5 star quality choices, but still decent as others have said previously the waffles were very good. Just remember that to get to downtown Toronto from here takes about 40 min. to about an hour, mainly due to much lower speed limits on the Canadian roads and the many traffic lights leading into the city itself. Overall I was very satisfied and impressed for the price, if you don't mind driving an extra 20 - 30 min. to get to most places near the suburbs of Tornoto, you can save yourself a lot of money compared to other hotels /offerings and prices. I have been completely honest in this review to help my fellow travelers

Area recommendations
City of Toronto - many choices Royal Ontario, musuem, CN Tower, Hockey Hall of fame etc, of course Lake ontario if you like boating or other water activities , numerous smaller suburbans towns, with local attractions, do you reasearch to see what you would like to do.
Getting there
Check current prices for vacation packages about 3 to 4 months in advance you will get your best rate that way if you fly, rent a car etc. . You could very well travel much cheaper than driving due to the current gas prices. The total package I book with expedia could't be beat it included flight, car rental and hotel stay. at an excellent price. Remember if you are willing to drive a little extra you will save considerably over the hotel rates closer to the city of Toronto itself.
Getting around
Remember to allow yourself extra time when going to an destination, because of the lower speed limits on most Canadian roads verses American roads and the numerous traffic lights, that you will encounter. There is a constant flow of traffic in all areas surronding Toronto at all times of day and night. I would suggest making sure that you have a good set of maps in addition to a GPS unit, it will make for much easier travel. There are many roads off of the major highways / intersections that run perpendicular or parallel to each other - that is North to South and that transect the East to West roads. So if you miss a exit or turn off you can easliy get back on course, unlike many areas in the USA where you might have to travel on a specific road for awhile before you can get turned around or back on course. Travel overall is much easier than you might expect for a larger Metro area, most people shold not have any problems just research your destinations before you head on the road each day.
