“Nycjrob”
Hotel needs a reno. But excellent stay.
“Really great hotel”
The outstanding thing about our weekend get away was the friendliness of the staff at the King Eddie. I would highly recommend this hotel. The only thing that would make it better would be if they put coffee makers in the room!
“Tiny Bathroom!”
My wife and I had a great time at this hotel however our bathroom was the only complaint we had. It was tiny and we both could not fit in it together to get ready to go out. Also, the lights took forever to warm up and get bright enough to see...good thing we weren't in a hurry. Also, we had 3 drinks in the hotel lobby bar which were rediculously priced! In saying that, the room was nice, bed comfortable and great location to get around downtown Toronto. We'll go back...just ask for a different room hopefully with a bigger bathroom and hit one of the local establishments for cocktails.
“OK hotel, but it's obviously seen better days”
The hotel was originally built in the late 1800's and update in the '20s. I don't think it's had much work done since then. That said, the overall design is ornate and opulent. Hotel front desk was an issue both times I interacted with them. Long wait to check in, even though there was only two people ahead of me. The clerk tried to give me a lower standard room than what my company paid for, and when I complained she acquiesced and gave me the King bed (instead of a queen Murphy bed) that was purchased. Room was large and expansive, but same upkeep (or lack thereof) as the downstairs. When I tried to check-in to my flight online, the front desk didn't mention that the printer didn't work! I'd probably stay there again because it's close to the office I support, but not for any other reason. There are too many other hotels in downtown Toronto to not check them out.
“Consistently good”
This is the third time I've stayed at The Eddy and it was as good as I remembered it. Top notch, friendly staff and a great room. I'd recommend this hotel in a flash and the next time I've to travel to Toronto I will stay there again.
“King Eddie”
I recommend staying here for a wedding, a big reunion or some other event where you're willing to drop some coin. As most elitist 4-star hotels, they haven't figured out that normal travelers actually like free breakfast, free wifi and the amenities that you're now seeing in most 3-stars. I like the King Edward for it's location, but for the money I will stay elsewhere. It's not a bad hotel, but i'm just not into the Victorian looking decor. I like somewhere more hip-modern. I think it's a nice hotel, the staff is very on point and friendly. I was shocked that there were no ice machines on the floor, but whenever I called for ice, it literally was there in under 5 min from the time i hung up the phone. I got great check-in service from a young lady named Toya and the concierge gave nice tips on places to check out in the area.
“Would stay here again for sure”
Our experience with the Le Meridien King Edward was excellent. We stayed in a deluxe king room which had 10' ceilings, was spacious, elegant, and extremely comfortable. All of the room appointments were first rate. The air conditioning unit was almost silent which is a rare pleasure. The closest thing to a downside was that because the room was below the 11th floor the view was of the brick building across the alley. Not much of a complaint
“great experience”
nice hotel at a reasonable price
“Love the King Edward”
Second time staying here! This time for our 10th anniversary. First stay for my husband and he loved it! Absolutely the best bed I have ever slept in! Will stay again and again!
“where you feel welcomed”
