Great location!Posted 22-Aug-2014
Highly recommend this hotel. Room decor is very modern. Bathrooms were clean thought the bowl sink was kinda cool. Rooftop pool was in good condition. One negative was no rooftop jacuzzi :(

Hyatt Regency in entertainment districtPosted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: Rooftop pool and bar, thats about it.
Cons: Customer service, elevators.
Rooftop pool and bar were great, everything else was disappointing. We checked in to our first room which had a leaking toilet creating a puddle on the bathroom floor. Staff sent someone to 'fix' it. Toilet ran all night, and there was a puddle again the next morning. They switched me into a different room, which smelt like someone just smoked 5 cigarettes in it (it was a non-smoking room). They put me in the room next door instead, which was fine. After several complaints, they gave me 1 night free of parking, which was the least I was hoping for. There was constantly a line for the hotel elevators as well, minimum 5-10 minute wait each time someone needed an elevator, which because the laughing story for all guests that weekend.

We got to the hotel late evening and had a hard time finding a place to have a small meal.

Regency Toronto for my gf's Birthday.Posted 17-Aug-2014
Overall great place! Only "complaints" would be, elevators were ridiculously slow coming at times. Also the breakfast buffet was more a table with food on it, maybe could have had more of a selection for the price. As for comfort and location, perfect!

Nice view of the CN tower.Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: It is close to the convention site.
Location: There are no restaurants open for Sunday breakfast which is disappointing.
We always stay at this hotel. We come for a convention every year.

A pleasant, functional hotelPosted 16-Aug-2014
Pros: Cleanliness and service. Staff were amazing.
Cons: Rooms have some quirks/maintenance issues. Nothing too bad though.
Location: TIFF Bell Lightbox and Scotiabank Theatre, many many restaurants, theatre, near subways, a little french bakery around the corner, and more.
This hotel has the basics well taken care of, but does not go much beyond that. Rooms are clean and modern, but lack almost any frills. Our chosen room did not have a bath. Just a shower, king bed, TV. The staff are very responsive and excellent. This hotel has excellent service and everyone was a real pleasure to deal with. The only real negative: The condition of the rooms was disappointing, given the cost. Our first room had an almost unusable pocket door for the bathroom. We received an upgrade as a result, but the only real "upgrade" in the new room was that it had a bath where the first one did not. Also, the HDMI input in the new room was not enabled, and a technician had to come in to enable it, and our HDMI cable ended up crimped in the process. Further, the air conditioning rattled loudly and I had to jam a paper coaster into it to make it stop. I think these problems aren't a big deal for a lone business traveller, but if you're trying to have an exceptional/special hotel stay, for example on a honeymoon, then I would consider the facilities somewhat lacking. That said, what it lacks in frills it makes up for by being right downtown, near plenty of restaurants, bakeries, cinemas (including the TIFF Bell Lightbox for film buffs), and a grocery store. (I lived in Toronto for a long time and it's a really great location for my taste.) There is also a rooftop pool on the 17th floor.

Where is my Wifi?Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: Fancy rooms
Cons: Needs free wifi
The hotel is nice and the staff are polite, but I was disappointed when I got to my room, opened my computer and discovered that the hotel wanted to charge me $14.95 per day for wifi. While staying in a hotel of this caliber, I expect to be treated with a minimum standard of service. There is no way it costs them $15 to give me wifi for a day, they are just trying to gouge. I understand a number of hotels do this now, but that doesn't make it right. The Hyatt should have to decency to provide this basic service - until they do, I will be staying in hotels that are more considerate.
