“Esasays”
Great hotel, always stay there when visiting relatives in the Markham, Ontario area!
“OK but with issues with the pool”
We like the location & decor of this hotel. The one issue was there were classes going on at the pool every time we tried to use it. We then had to wait an hour until the classes are finished. This happened on both weekday & weekend. It upset our kids very much, all changed in swim suits & just sat there & wait. There were many other families with kids there too who had to wait as well. There is no way of knowing when the classes would go on. The least Hilton could do was either post the times of these lessons outside of the pool to alert the hotel guests or announce that this is going on at their Markham location on their website before customers book into their hotel. To me, what they are doing is not right. The hotel guests should have priority over these classes. We are paying for the hotel per night which includes using the gym & pool facilities. We've stayed at 4 star hotels all over the world, none of where the hotels would block out the usage of their pools for swimming classes on site. What this Hilton is doing is unfair to their hotel guests. They can definitely strive for improvements to live up to their Hilton name. The other down side was they charge $10/day for parking which almost no other hotels there do. At least they make this known on their website it wasn't a big surprise like the pool issue.
“Not bad, but have issues”
I have a number of issues with this hotel: 1) the coin-op laundry closes at 8:00 pm, which is ridiculous, given the fact that it doesn't need to be manned, and that guests needing laundry service would probably need it later at night than 8 pm, 2) the layout of the room is that it is divided into a sleeping area and a living room area, which isn't bad. However the layout is that the sleeping area only has a window, whereas the living room area wall only adjoins the corridor. Although the hotel tries to make up for the lack of natural lighting by using a glass panel as a wll to the living room area, I think most people would still prefer natural light. Also the sleeping area is very small. Other than the above, the hotel is decent, as one would expect of a Hilton of this grade.
“We've promised ourselves we'll stay here again.”
We picked this hotel solely for it's location, never having seen it before, and were delighted with our choice. All the usual amenities are there: very good restaurants (terrific pastry chef!), great spa/health club, generous suites, etc, but what made the biggest difference for us was the staff. Rarely have we stayed where we were treated so well, so much like a member of their big family - it's quite surprising for such a cosmopolitan hotel. Some observances: (1) Very good management here, quick to respond to our personal issues and concerns; (2) Not much shopping or things to do within walking distance, so a car is a necessity; (3) Essence of Unionville restaurant has great food - dinners are highly recommended and the Sunday brunch is outstanding; (4) a word about the bathtubs: they have very high sides, making it difficult for people with limited mobility to climb in/out; (5) Families with children are very welcome here - we encountered many, and at times the kids monopolize the swimmimg pool; (6) We stayed for a week and got to know some staff members very well - they exchanged recipes with us, surprised my wife with a cake on her birthday, and hugged us when we departed - at a Hilton!!!
“will stay again”
Roomy, comfortable beds, clean bathroom, and great location. But some of the front desk staffs showed attitude toward minority customers.
“toronto hilton”
good location
“very impressed”
Impressed with the hotel and its cleanliness and very convenient to get to the Rexall Centre for our concert. Thank you.
“Very nice hotel and staffs”
Check-in and check-out were smooth. Staffs very professional, always with a big smile. Suite is clean and roomy. I'd wish that the parking fee (10$/night) is included but it wasn't a big deal for me. I'd come back again.
“Convenient and Very Nice”
Hotel was very nice and convenient for my purposes. My only complaint, and it's not limited to just this facility, is having to pay for parking as well as the room fees. Overall, a good experience
“always excellent”
