“Hilton Garden Inn Oakville”
Decent hotel. Very simple, nothing fancy.
“Not bad for the weekend get away”
Convenient location,close to the airport
“Nice facility, professional staff, BUT”
Water quality terrible -- including coffee. Breakfast service poor -- little buffet variety, an unenthusiastic short order cook, and burned bacon (on two separate visits). Fix the water, clean up the food, and it would be fine.
“Hilton Garden Inn; Oakville, ON Canada - positives & negatives:”
While the room was nice and the free high speed internet service was appreciated, the pillows were AWFUL! Very large, very lumpy and gave me a stiff neck. When I asked for another choice in pillows, they were unable to provide one. Also, the phones in the room didn't work very well - I was unable to pick up incoming calls and when I asked for replacements, none were forthcoming. I've stayed there a number of times in the past, but won't do it again.
“Very clean, but will probably not stay again.”
It was a very nice hotel and very clean. The front desk personnel was not very friendly, but not rude so it was okay. My only disappointment was the fact that the full breakfast as advertised was not included and would have had to pay additional $$$. We only found this out the first morning after we helped ourselves to bkfst and the waitress asked if we had our bkfst coupons. For the extra charge, the bkfst was not worth it (general type of bkfst all other hotels offer). It was a long drive to any tourist attraction - better to stay right in Toronto or closer to Niagara Falls.
“Not too shabby.”
The only gripe I had about my stay is that there were no bath towels when we walked in and the only trash bin available was in the bathroom so if I wanted to throw something out while someone was using the bathroom, I had to wait till that person left for me to throw something in the trash. Other than that, my stay wasn't bad at all.
“Staff make the joint”
A good blend of service and price. Easy highway access. Business-oriented, especially during the week. Some excellent restaurants in downtown Oakville -- about a ten minute drive. Jonathan's, Oliver's, the Seasons (among others) can be consistently counted on to provide a first class meal. Beware the food chains directly across the highway from the hotel: generally wretched and overpriced.
