“Whereguests are made to feel welcome.”
This hotel was formerly the "Valhalla". It is undergoing some physical renewal, but this is very inconspicuous. The restaurant is a 1970's gem with a Scandanavian motif - light wood pannelling, great natural light and a view of a central cloistered garden, with robins and a water feature. I understand that the restaurant may be re-designed - pity, what is there is classic. Serving staff are most friendly, treating you as their guests and remembering you, when you come back the next day. Food was extremely good - again simple and classic. A most pleasant place to stay.
“A worthy example of corporate goodwill”
I loved, loved, loved that instead of charging a parking fee (such an unpleasant surprise at most other places), there is a donation box at the desk asking instead for a donation to a project they are partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build. Bravo! A very nice, convenient hotel, although a little confusing to get out of if you don't know the area due to one-way street.
“Extraordinarily Impressed!!!”
From the very first night, I was impress with the housekeeping service. A little gesture goes a long way. Simply by placing a little towel with my things on it, to prevent it from getting wet speaks a lot already about their over the top service. The bed is sooo comfortable. Their matress comes with a pillow-top, so you'll feel that you're sleeping on a pillow. Their crib is in excellent condtion. I had absolutely no problem with it. The staff was kind, helpful & friendly. Overall, I will definitely stay there again since I go to Markham every year.
“Great impression”
Great service, clean rooms and overall great impression
“It's a nice place.”
Nice place. A little dated but renovating (thankfully not at night). The iron didn't work in my room, but the concierge went around to other rooms and got us a replacement in half an hour. Otherwise, clean, quiet, convenient and comfortable.
“Very Good”
The room is very clean. and the location is OK, because we only visited Richmon Hill and Markham.
“indiana adventurers”
would do again,no doubt.....everything you want nearby..best deal of trip..
“highly acceptable”
highly acceptable, comfortable, all that is required for a stay
“Good stay in Markham”
Very comfy bed, good view from our rooms. But the soundproofing of the walls was almost none, we could clearly hear the people talking in the next room.
“TLC”
I found the bathroom in room 804 to be out of date. The WC a little worn and the shower curtain could be ungraded to the curved railing. The cleaning staff could be more efficient with regards to making the bed. Pardon the pun but it was a 'cover up' literally.
