“Days Inn - nice place to stay.”

“Ok for the price if you just need a place to sleep and have a shower.”

I booked the hotel for two nights on special rates. So what I paid was reasonable. The hotel is old and a basic no thrill place. Only time I spent there was to sleep. There was free continental breakfast which I did not have time to enjoy. I have two friends who stayed there and they had breakfast and did not mention anything negative, so it must be ok. Hotel staff was curtious and gave us maps so we could find our way around.Ok for what I paid for.

Area recommendations
This hotel is not close to freeways and it took some time to get around. While I enjoyed driving through the neigbourhoods because I was not in a hurry, others might prefer to find a place closer to the freeways in order to get around quickly; afterall Toronto and adjacent cities cover a huge area.

“Not Impressed”

comforter had holes in it, I was asked for a $50.00 refundable for incidentals where I have never been asked that at any other hotel, hallway smelled of smoke and the walls needed to be re-wallpapered as there was stains and pieces of wallpaper falling off.

“Won't be back to this place”

The rooms were almost par, the first room we got you couldn't open the bathroom door all the way before the door hit the floor. The "continental" breakfast was one of the worst ones I have ever had. Juice so waterd down you couldn't drink it. Warm milk for the cereal and dry pastries. Just not what I was expecting.

Area recommendations
This was our first trip to Toronto, I didn't think this short 7 mile distance to downtown. Traffic was, lets say a little more challenging than I expecting. It took 45 min to an hr. to get to the downtown activities from this Hotel. Next time we would stay in the downtown area. Easy to walk to so many of the sites. We didn't have the cchance to use public transportation but it looked very user friendly. Great city to visit!
When to go
We traveled in late May to early June. We were told that it was cooler than normal for that time of year but we were quite comfortable.
Must see
If you into history The Casa Loma house (castle) is a must... If your into sports the Hockey Hall of fame was unbeliveable. Then you must eat at Wayne Gretzky's restaurant. The CN tower is amazing
Dining
In a city this size you can have anything. And trust me, everything is available. The Korean BBQ was one of my favorites

“Nice, mostly clean, somewhat confusing”

This hotel was alright, the rooms were on the nicer side, it has more "atmosphere" than most hotels, but it was not perfect. There were some kind of gross corners in the bathroom with a few bugs in them. The rest of the room seemed pretty clean though, and actually pretty large. The guy at the front desk was not overly kind... he was very quiet (I had to have him repeat himself several times) but that wasn't too bad. The one real issue I had with this hotel is that there is another Days Inn about 8 miles down the road, closer to Lake Shore road, so if you are coming from that direction is can be very confusing.

“Good Hotel”

I am from New York and booked the hotel without actually seeing it or knowing the surrounding area, but I was not disappointed. The hotel was very easy to find and the room was great. Would recommend to others, fairly cheap rates also.

“paper thin walls”

The hotel is quite nice for the price actually. Nice beds, lots of pillows and the staff are good. BUT the walls are paper thin. So thin that you can hear someone talking at conversation level. Of the 6 nights I stayed there I only was able to get 3 night's uneventful sleep. The first night: room next door the tv was on until 4 am. The next night, people were talking until 2 am. Then 2 other nights there was a wild party going on. I requested a room change and was only able to get one on the second last night. It was so bad that I was looking for other hotels to stay in even though I had prepaid for this hotel. I was there for work and had to sleep......

“Just what we needed”

This hotel was clean and tidy without any frills, and the price was very good. The staff was friendly and very helpful when needed anything. We spent all of our time sightseeing and used the hotel for sleeping and breakfast only, and it served our pupose very well. We chose it because of its excellent location near the shore of Lake Ontario on the east side of Toronto, right around the corner from Rosetta McClain Gardens, one of our favorite Toronto parks. We would use this hotel again with no hesitation.

Area recommendations
There is a lot to do in a large city like Toronto. On this particular trip, we spent a day with friends visiting the Bata Shoe Museum and nearby Chinatown and university neighborhood. Other days we spent walking the parks and birdwatching along the lake shore from Scarborough east to Whitby.
