“Very accomodating staff.”
Got to the hotel late. My room wasnt great as there was a loud air conditioner outside. I phoned the front desk and was told they were sold out but management will check on a room that maybe available after a reno. This was at midnight. After a while manager came to my room and offered to take my bag to the new room. It was much higher floor and larger. I was also given a free voucher for mini bar and free internet for the night. This hotel looks to have been converted from an apartament building but it has been completely renovated. Rooms are very modern. Both of the rooms had kitchens. The location is just off the Younge and King on a small side street. There was some construction outside on nearby buildings. There is Starbucks, Tim Hortons and Subway within 1 block of the hotel as well as numerous restaurants. Public transit is very close by as well. I would stay here again.
“No Great”
Entire hotel is very, very small and feels claustrophobic. We went to workout in the morning, and since there were already 2 people there, there was not enough space for both of us and I ended up leaving because you just could not move around each other. Our room wasn't made up the first day when we came back late afternoon, so I asked for at least towels to be sent up when we left for dinner. That's all they did. 2 new towles on the sink, all the dirty ones left on the floor, bed unmade. Not impressive. the valet left the lights on in the car so that when we left we had to call CAA to boost the car.
“Big room, hotel a bit seedy”
The hotel is a bit seedy, currently next to construction; almost an Eastern European feel, with narrow underlit corridors, strange hotel inhabitants and blue-lit elevators made for shooting movie scenes. Was pleasantly surprised with the kitchen and in-suite washer/dryer, but the room corridors are also narrow and the closets are awkwardly placed. The front desk staff were very pleasant but ineffectual. So: location good [close to south-east Yonge subway], room large but dark, kitchenette and laundry great for a longer stay. If you make a request, don't wait long before you check up on it.
“Gret hotel. About time for a tune up.”
Always frequent this hotel when it town. After multiple owners, it's time for a tune up. Higher end features starting to show wear. If not addressed soon may need to drop price and expectations. Great location. Great staff.
“Great Hotel”
Very good value for the excellent location to many attractions in the downtown area.
“For the price and location, an excellent choice for multiday travellers to Downtown”
I booked this hotel for a seminar that was taking place at the exchange center. I will describe the aspects of this hotel in such a way that anyone skimming this review can likely jump to what is important. The room: I was in a Zen Suite (cheapest room). MUCH bigger than i expected. Fully functional kitchenette, living room and a very decently sized bedroom. Excellent bed. A washer and dryer was a surprise. The bathroom was very bright and clean, but the toilet could have used some maintenance. I did not really have a view on the 11th floor. If anyone else needs a view, specifically request a room near the top of the hotel. Location: If you are planning to walk, it is a great spot. Minutes from most anything in the core downtown. I am told this is not uncommon, and parking (should you need it) is not cheap... about $35/night (I flew in). First Impressions: When you first walk in, it is somewhat claustrophobic in the entrance area. VERY small. The hallways too. As a result, I started out with a weak impression of what this stay will be like. I felt much better when I found my room. Staff: Extremely nice and helpful. Everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy working at this hotel. I was a bit thrown by women coming in the evening with incense or other aroma items, but it is a spa, and it fits with the theme. Overall, it was certainly more than I expected, and if I need to stay downtown for multiple days, I will certainly use this hotel again.
“Smallest hotel room ever”
No room describes the room at the Cosmo. No place to sit - only on the bed. Who wants a glass door on a bathroom? Elevator key never worked
“Amazing hotel”
Absolutely gorgeous hotel. I have stayed in numerous high end hotels in TO and this one is the best
“truly relaxing”
Went to toronto for a conference and was thrilled to walk into such a calming hotel! Excellent way to unwind and relax at the end of my day! Staff was wonderful and helpful...
“Calm oasis in a fun city”
Lovely staff and a clean, minimal aesthetic added a relaxing energy to my stay in Toronto. The nightly turn-down service that included a bag containing a semi-precious stone was a fun surprise to come back to each evening... I loved the Obsidian!
