“Close to downtown Toronto”

Hi, Everything was correct except the friendliness of the reception desk attendee upon arrival. It just seemed an effort to make us feel welcomed. I particularly did not appreciate the parking charges received in the middle of the night. I specifically asked the attendee if there was parking at the hotel. He confirmed there was and jotted down in which space we were. At no time did he mention there was an extra charge for parking amounting to more than 20% of the room cost. On the website info on expedia, there was no mention of additional charges for parking. Had we known on reserving, the choice would have been made differently for similar hotel. Furthermore, there is a private public parking at 2 steps from the hotel on the adjacent street and he could have at the very least informed us of the charges and the other options available. That would have been "normal client service".

“large comfortable rooms”

loved the old fashioned elevator and the comfy pillows. Would have liked the fan in the bathroom to be on a separate switch from the light. and would have liked an extra blanket for the chilly evenings. Other than that, really enjoyed the hotel!

“Great location but not worth it!”

The hotel is located a block away from the subway, which is nice on a cold day! I love the location, close to Church Street and all the restaurants there, and a short walk to Yorkville. However, the hotel needs updating ASAP. I noticed that there was a renovated section but we were not placed there, despite requests. The room was clean but very small and run down. I would not touch the curtains! Parking for 20 bucks a day was also steep. I am not a picky traveler and have stayed in many hostels around the world. This hotel is just not worth the money. I would spend an extra 15 bucks and stay at the Town Inn next time. The Clarion was definitely a 1-2 star hotel.

“Inconvenient but quant”

It was nice. I t was a little out of the way from the places of interest. Subways close at midnight so can't be out too late. it has a quirky elevator. It's inconvenient. The stairs were preferred even though we stayed on the fourth floor. Breakfast did not interest us. All starch.

“No, it is not worth for the money”

When I went in to to this hotel, I expected a lot for my money. But the carpets were smelling very bad to my room. Room too was small, the air condition control were broken, so I can not adjust. I was not justified with the money I spent. I will not suggest this hotel to any one.

“Convenient and comfortable”

The Clarion was a short walk from a Bloor St subway stop which made it easy to navigate around the city (I recommend the day pass). The room was small with no view, but it was comfortable and clean. Good variety at complimentary breakfast - hard boiled eggs were especially good. Limited, cramped parking for an extra charge but we didn't need to get in/out because we used public transportation for getting around the city. Overall, good value.

“lovely”

I stay here as often as i can. location is great. continental breakfast so so, but over all great value.

3.00 cad to get down town.. take the 192 bus from the airport to the sub way irremediably easy to do.

“A place to sleep, but that's it”

Wasn't really impressed with this hotel. The staff weren't nice or very helpful, they charge too much for parking, the rooms were very small, and the place could use some upkeep. However, given that we just needed a place to sleep, the price was definitely right. I might stay there again, if I'm in town on the weekend and need a place to crash for the night.

“Great experience and will return”

This was my first stay at this hotel. I had read the previous mixed reviews but booked anyway. I never experienced ANY of the dissatisfaction expressed by others. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the newly renovated room was very clean and comfortable. I will return and recommend this property without hesitation.
