“Serene sea views”
Loved our stay at the Long Beach Lodge! Cox Bay is a deep cove which builds dramatic large waves for the surfers and at low tide the rocks at the north end of the bay yield marine treasures like starfish and anemonies which can be viewed right up close. If you are a beach walker, this is the number one place to be. The deluxe oceanview room was well appointed and the sea views were worth the extra cost. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The continental breakfast was delicious with "melt in your mouth" sticky buns. The common room, with a good restaurant, jutted out to provide outstanding views of the surf. Only minor issue - suggest that the lodge upgrades to softer pillows. Also travellers should be aware that some rooms have a hike to get to the ocean. Still, would highly recommend this holiday haven.
“Beautiful location”
Long beach is beautiful. The hotel was very nice. Room was comfortable with one minor complaint: there were a few hairs in the bathtub and a bobby pin on the bathroom floor. It seemed clean otherwise, so I didn't complain about it, but I have very high standards for cleanliness and these things bugged me. I just cleaned them up myself because they were not that big of a deal. Otherwise, the location was breathtaking! The ocean is right out front with waves crashings in on the nearby rocks. We ate supper there, right by the windows along the beach. Supper was good, but I found the menu selection to be a bit limited. I expected more fresh options, but again - not a big deal. The quality was good and that is the most important thing. We made our morning coffee and took it outside and sat by the beach on chairs the resort provides and wathced the waves roll in. We then went and had an excellent continental breakfast (complimentary with our room), followed by a walk on the beach. I'd never been to Tofino before but will definitely be going back.
“Lovely stay”
Good hotel with comfortable room (though overlooking car park at rear of hotel). Dining room has great views of bay and surfers with food being delicious and serving staff friendly and helpful. Reception staff were also helpful, suggesting alternative trip (bear watching) instead of whale watching as my wife does not like being on water. However, bear watching also turned out to be a water trip although staying within the various islands and not out to open water.
“Best place to stay in tofino area”
When booking this reservation i read 100% positive reviews on trip advisor & now i know why. My husband said it was the nicest place & experience he's ever had & i agree. They upgraded us to a nicer room simply because they had it available, free of charge. The staff are friendly as possible! Wonderful overall & would go back in a heartbeat.
“Paradise on the west coast”
A gem hidden within the old growth forrest, this is an absolutely fabulous hotel. The staff were warm and friendly, the beach breathtaking and private with surfing instruction available and miles to walk or run. We will be back again! Thanks for an amazing weekend!
“perfect relaxing getaway”
The driveway to the hotel was lovely as we passed the cottages and the large parking lot. Checkin was very easy and efficient. Our room was an ocean front, and was beautifully laid out. The bed was large and comfortable, and the soaker tub had a slatted window where you could see the ocean through it, or have it closed. The room was very clean. What a gorgeous stunning view of the crashing waves on the shore, and the dozens of surfers trying to tame it. We could sit for hours and watch and listen to the thundering crests on the shore but as we had only one day there was too much to explore. We decided to eat at the lodge; and what a good choice that was. I had the halibut which was fantastic; and the wife's seafood medley was equally as good. The included breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. Try the granola and sconds.
“Gorgeous views”
The view from the restaurant is really fabulous. Get there for sunset and have dinner or pre-dinner drinks in the restaurant. Tofino is fantastic. And the Lodge is really great. One of the better hotels I've stayed at. It's not in the downtown area - in case that's important to you. A cab ride from the hotel to downtown is about $20.
“WIll Return For Sure”
Long Beach Lodge has an amazing location fronting on Cox Bay in beautiful Tofino, BC. The hotel staff are extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The beachfront room we stayed in was very comfortable, clean and had ample space. The dining room and lounge have amazing views of Cox Bay. The complimentary continental breakfast served in the great room was delicious and included various pastries, muffins and fruit. The dinner menu was appealing and certainly lived up to our expectations. We would highly recommend having a drink or eating a meal sitting in the great room overlooking the ocean. Overall, we could not have been more pleased with the entire experience at Long Beach Lodge and we will return the next time we visit Tofino.
“Beautiful location”
We were upgraded to a cottage unit. It was very comfortable and well finished. The included breakfast was very good (a wide choice of hot foods was an add-on $.
“Tofino getaway”
We had one of the best meals at the Long Beach Lodge during our recent stay. The food was outstanding, the service impeccable, the view amazing, and there was the added benefit of being able to walk off dinner on the beach!
