“Nice Place, Nice People”
This is an antiqued building, so don't expect modern "streamlined" furniture and fittings, but what they have has been very well executed. The stairs and floors ,creak. with aged wood, you would pay more for this at Walt Disney. If you are on the front, it can be a bit noisy from the traffic if you have the windows open but they have internal windows to try to deaden the noise. Good draught beer. Hostelry welcome. Cooked breakfast to order. Too late to eat dinner. Would recommend this to anyone other than those looking for a clinical, modern hotel.
“Nice building, but lacking in basic comfort”
Unfortunately this hotel was a bit disappointing. During the heat wave in October we went up to our room to find the heating on full blast outside our room (which couldn't be turned off - the room itself was very warm and only one window could be opened. I was also disappointed on the comfort of the bed and the pillows (very thin and worn). Because the windows had to be open and our room was on the main high street, I was also kept awake by the Tewkesbury night life. Not a night I would want to repeat, especially when 6 months pregnant! I wouldn't recommend to a friend.
“useful base for local attractions”
hotel being refurbished, room very well serviced and equipped but cramped. Breakfast needs a little more choice for those who do not take a full fried meal.Courtesy of staff excellent.
“Nice room but ....”
The hotel is conveniently situated in centre of Tewkesbury. My room was clean and comfortable but across the car park at the back of the hotel, fine in the summer but not so good in the dark evenings for a lone female. The food was a real disappointment and I wish I had eaten elsewhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My real gripe is the food.
