It can be quite confusing, especially at that hour, but an important smoke alarm did go off in our pump room ,( which houses multiple electrical installations), for approximately 10 minutes, possibly less, while we investigated and disarmed it. Our guard called our attention to it immediately. If he had waited 2 hours to do so, the purpose of the alarm would have been defeated completely. Fire safety is a serious concern in the area with the extremely high temperatures we have been experiencing and keeping our guests safe is a top priority. While a smoke alarm in the middle of the night can be annoying, it is a necessary precaution for the protection of all our guests. We apologise for the interruption to your rest.We did assure you, the following morning,that this is not a daily occurrence and we offered you a free upgrade to our Deluxe King Suite that was available for the remainder of your stay. Instead,you chose to visit a different part of the country as you felt Tamarindo overall was not your ideal choice. We hope Manuel Antonio was a better fit for you.As your reservation was paid to Expedia and not directly to us, we asked that you please contact Customer Services to modify your stay as we are unable to change it, but you chose not to.Again, my sincerest apologies for the disturbance to your rest. It was very unfortunate, and I am very sorry that you were unable to take us up on our offers to help make it up to you.Best regards,

Please accept our apology.We would like to take this opportunity to highlight some features of the hotel in the hope that it will be helpful to guests in their search for accommodation.We are a small Boutique Style hotel of only 16 rooms. We have 1 member of staff per every 3 guests on the property, with a total of 11 staff plus the two owners of the property who are always on hand to both assist and supervise day to day operations. Our focus is directed towards making certain that every guest has a unique experience, not just at the hotel but for the duration of their entire stay in the country, as Costa Rica has so much to offer! When given the opportunity to do so, we try to take the time to get to know our guests personally and we help them plan their stay by making recommendations that we think will suit their personality and requirements.We are pleased that your overall experience with our staff was friendly and welcoming.We apologise that you did not receive the discount you requested because your room was not equipped with a Smart TV or a Microwave oven, and you were unable to use your Netflix account on the TV, during your stay. We do not advertise Smart TVs or Microwaves on our list of amenities. We will consider doing so in the future, but for now, we do not offer either one. The advertised rate that you paid did not include the above amenities, . We are also pleased we were able to offer you the room change you requested due to the Cable TV image in your room not being up to your standard, and we aplogise we could only do so on the second night of your stay, due to lack of availability.Unfortunately, we have no control whatsoever over the construction that you mentioned as it was not part of property. You stayed with us during our Peak Season and the hotel was completely booked. We are truly sorry that it made your stay with us less restful. This is definitely not our intention or goal!We have included the information in the appropriate space designated by Expedia and specified the rooms that could possibly have been affected by the work. Unfortunately, we have no control over how this information is displayed on their site.As we go into the Green Season we have more flexibility and are able to move guests if noise or disruption occurs.
