“Great location; very convenient.”
The location of the hotel was great for a tourist. Our room, on the top floor, had slanted ceilings, but plenty of room. The hotel was clean,fresh and well-maintained. the staff was efficient and friendly.The only complaints were that the breakfast buffet selection was average at best, and the shower/tub had no curtain or other barrier to prevent water from the shower from spraying on to the surrounding floor. Ask for a room on the courtyard (front) of the building; the back side abuts a very busy tourist street (pedestrian traffic only) which is noisy far into the night.
“Lovely Hotel great location, with a great pub attached”
Hotel was great, room was a great size, we had a room in the eves on the top floor so had a view of the old wall. service was friendly and breakfast offered a hugh choice.
“Right in the old town”
The hotel has a great breakfast which provides a nice start to the day. There is also a pub attached to the hotel if you don't wish to stray far. The hotel is situated on a "main" street in the Tallinn old town. It's only about 100 steps to the town square from the hotel. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and would surely visit again.

“Great hotel-fabulous city”
Just returned from stay @ Vana Wiru and must say its a great hotel.Hotel reception couldnt have been more helpful.Breakfast was great,room was lovely just right size for single traveller ! Bed gave some of the best nights sleep I've ever had.Fantastic location in Old Town all the sights not too far away as well as near great restaurants.Absolutely cant fault this hotel, I had a great stay in such a fabulous city.
“Great place”
Really enjoyed this hotel - the location next to the old town can't be beat, it's exceptionally clean, and the room included a great shower and was very comfortable. Breakfasts were also huge and tasty, and staff were very helpful and polite.
“Great location”
Great location within the city walls. Able to walk everywhere. Good breakfast served until 11Am which is handy if you've been out until the small hours. Only downer was the piped music played in the corridors which could be heard in the room.
“Friendly, spacious, great central location yet quiet”
Pretty much ideally located by convenient eastern gate to Old Town, but because away from main street remained quiet at all times. Room v comfortable, adequately furbished - great shower facility & even a sauna. 3rd to 5th floors afford great view over Old Town and beyond. Staff & reception most pleasant & helpful. Unlike many Eastern Europe hotels, great breakfast selection. Despite good value, no evidence of out of hand stag party revellers in hotel.
“The perfect quality base for old and new Talinn”
Despite it's proximity to one of Tallin's busier if less youth orientated street, the Viru is an oasis of calm. Staff - friendly, polite, welcoming and always helpful. Load yourself up on the hearty buffet breakfast to set yourself up for a day's sightseeing or shopping. Highly recommended.
“Tallin - One of the best Location”
If you are planing a trip to Estonian Capital, Tallin. Baltic Vana Wiru Hotel is at the heart of the old town. Seconds to the main square and all the old center and to the shopping Mall. Excellent Customer service, clean rooms, and overall comfortable. I will certainly recommend the Hotel.
