the Metro Hotel Taipei are the worse i ever stayed here such a bad staff and racist which is they should be kindness and not not a fake approach with the costumer and their bed was too uncomfortable and the hygiene room was too smelly and loudly sound room from the outside due too the room we stayed closed to the street, i hated their food buffet not a good food they served for the internationally person,but anyways i will never ever go back in this hotel anymore.so its my lesson to learned that people be wiser and smart to choose a hotel that you made sure it can help yourself to be peaceful and relaxing,but too little to late to canceling that we stayed this irrelevant hotel :(

Sorry for the unpleasant staying experience. We will improve your questions. At the same time, we are friendly. The rooms are cleaned daily and the toilets are cleaned daily. Breakfast is mainly Chinese cuisine, I hope you can visit again.

Staffs would greet us daily, recommend places and services which I didn't opt but still remain friendly. While there is a lift, but to get to the lift would require us to carry our luggage and it wouldn't be desirable if we are checking out as our luggages will be filled with souvenir. The mgmt should think how would a wheelchair patron be able to manoeuvre around with ease so sales might climb.

Solid hotel, nice breakfast
Booked this hotel as I had relatives virtually right next door to hotel. Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the lobby when you walk in is nice. The room was spacious, but could use some renovating. There was some paint peeling away and the rug was not clean at all. But the furniture and beds seemed clean. Overall, I’d say the room is comfortable, but bring some sandals to wear in room. They have a pretty good buffet style breakfast with Asian styled food, bread, coffee, and fruit.

Dated hotel but gets the job done. Some stairs.
The building is definitely dated with some stairs and a too-small elevator. During the peak check-out time, the wait for the elevator may be long. The rooms are average sized for Taipei. Bathroom was quite old but clean. There were no other half-decent lodging that was available on New Year's Eve in Taipei and we were happy with this property.

Clean and good value for basic accommodation.
Hotel is clean and good value for money. However, for this price, one cannot expect too much since Taipei is an expensive capital city in which to stay in a hotel. Location is ok, in central Taipei, and not far from the MRT subway, but this area of the city is a bit old and not in the center of any action. Breakfast was not good, but then again, you cannot expect much for this price.

It was a good stay!
We stay here since this hotel is near to Dajia riverside Park, which is the finish line for the Taipei Standard Charter Marathon 2016, also it is near to MRT station, just a few minutes walk. The hotel staff were also good and will greet you but they did not offer any help. Maybe because they cannot speak English that much. The room was not sound proof, we can hear when someone is talking in the hallway. The breakfast, only have few selection as well. But, with good location and for the purpose of our stay, it is a recommended hotel.

Good value with a caveat
The hotel was not particularly easy to find, but once we got our bearings, all was well. The staff was extremely accommodating, for example helping us to organize an excursion outside Taipei and to make arrangements for getting to the airport. The room was small but comfortable. Lighting in the bathroom was excellent, as was the shower. Breakfast was pleasing, though the selection was designed for an Asian palate and not a Western one, which was OK since we may have been the only Westerners in the hotel. My only hesitation about recommending this hotel is the somewhat out-of-the-way location.

Disappointed. Not a choice for two and up.
I booked this hotel base on its rating but we were disappointed. Facility : Old and is poor maintained. Furniture are old. The shower faucet was out of order in my first night, and made the floor wet in the whole toilet. I had to tell them to fix it. Staff : Friendly but not helpful. We had two adults for the room. They only provided one card key. We would go out and might not come back at the same time. We requested a second one. She provided another one saying that it could open the door but could not activate the power in the room. We needed to insist to change it. Power outlet: There is only one open power outlet in the whole room. If you have more than one person in your room, you two have to compete each other on the phone charging. Also, the water boiler shares the outlet of the refrigerator. You need to unplug the refrigerator to use the boiler. Breakfast: Beware there is only the Chinese style breakfast. It is plain congee and small dishes of food. Room layout: The layout is bad. When you sit in the sofa, your feet will reach the door. If your companion need to go out, you have to stand up. If someone come in without your awareness, you will get hit. Location: It is OK. There is a subway station around, but not nearby. You have to walk about 20 minutes. Supplies: The custom roll size of their toilet paper is about one third of the ones in market. At my check in, there was only half of the custom roll size available. 2 stars is for pricing

Good comfortable hotel
Generally pretty clean and tidy hotel. Found no major issues. Carpets could use a clean thought. Staff were very friendly and most helpful. Buffet breakfast was relatively good compared to other hotels.

The concierge were friendly and very helpful. Upon hearing that it is our first trip to Taipei, they jumped enthusiastically at the chance to help us locate the sights that are a must-see and go, as well as how to get there. They remembered our names from the point we check-in, never failing to say good morning and good evening to us! Our rooms were very clean and made up very fast. We would head out for breakfast, and within the hour, when we came back, our rooms were cleaned and beds were made! Overall a wonderful experience and I would love to come back here to stay again! :)

Our Metro Hotel stay
Every hotel front desk staff is very helpful and keen in assisting us with directions and our plans for the day. The restaurant staff also makes conversations with us and is very helpful and welcoming.

Problem: Solo Travel in a Group Travel City
When I first arrived, they did not have the room I reserved 3 months ago and wanted to give me a room in the basement. And for my final day, they told me a pipe burst and I would have to move to the Vienna Hotel, a lower rated hotel. In each instance, I objected, and they provided the room I reserved and paid for up front. Metro deliberately tried to give me a lower quality room than I paid for. I do not recommend the Metro Hotel. Note how many of the reviews for Metro and other hotels in Taiwan are from Asian travelers who are likely to be in a tour bus/group. I believe Metro tried to shortchange me on my reserved room because they over committed on their tour groups and Westerners are a less important revenue stream, hence I was deliberately lied to by the front desk staff. The breakfast was just OK, less quality than one would expect for a hotel of this type. Also, wifi only works in the restaurant/reception area, not in the rooms. Really, for a few hundred dollars they could add a router to each floor instead of inconveniencing everyone to hover in the reception area. Room Tip: Check who provided the review: someone in a tour group or an independent traveler.

Close to Songshan Airport
The Metro Hotel is a six minute taxi ride from Songshan Airport. Its located just a block from a bakery, 7-11 convenience store, and many good small local restaurants. Its about a 15 minute walk to the closest metro rail station (which we used going to Taipei's famous Night Market). The staff is friendly, helpful, and speak English. The only negative is that they don't have wifi service in all the guests rooms, only in the lobby. Once they get wifi, it will be ideal for those who like to get out and explore.

This is a well furnished, quiet room.Well padded carpeting, comfortable bedding (nice pillows) and dark wood panels with warm light creates a very relaxing environment. Nice dining halls. The breakfast menu is wonderful, especially the Taiwanse style congee breakfast. The breakfast menu price was higher than others, but it was included in the room rate. The guest floor walkway was a too dark, it may be well intended for the mood/ hotel scheme, but study the emergency evacuation map ahead of time- just in case.

Nice little hotel, in the government business area
Rooms are clean, helpful staff, and a great little breakfast area for Chinese style breakfast with some western touches. Would stay here again anytime. There are many others that charge the same or little more, but don't measure up to what this place gives you. Almost forgot, the AC works great unlike most of the other places (except American brand hotels in Taiwan.)

The lobby doesn't seem very fancy fancy type of hotel, but the room is very clean and comfortable. The hotel is well located. You can take the MTR one street away from the hotel.

The hotel overall experience is pleasant with comfort and cleanliness well maintained. However the view of the hotel window is not that so, as mine is facing a resident room / kitchen, not pleasing at all.

Around 8 min walk to MTR station. Surrounding area has some convenient stores and book stores. Bedroom is ok clean but not modern at all. Terrible breakfast buffet that I rather go eat a pineapple bun, please improve. Wi-fi not work at all. Computer in the biz center is very slow. So if you are on a biz trip, better not to pick this hotel. For this price you can pick something better.

I really liked the decorations in the room colors, furniture, mirrors etc. The bed was two beds pushed together. Bathroom was designed weird. Tub was raised about a foot and ceiling was lowered about a foot or two. My head was a few inches from the ceiling and I had to be careful stepping out of the tub because it was raised. Location was very good. Lots of food places nearby. Somewhat close to night markets and clubs. The best thing about the Metro Hotel was the service. The staff was very helpful in calling cabs, translating directions, recommending places, and making sure everything was satisfactory in the room. I would stay there again.

1月下旬の台北は曇ってたせいか結構寒く、1泊目の某ホテルはエアコン喧しい割には効かなくて困りました。外観ボロボロ内装はラブホ風でフロントもそれ風、まあお客さんはどう見ても観光客風でしたが。2〜3泊目の台南の日本人客の多い老舗ホテルは雰囲気は良くてエアコンも静かでしたがその効きはイマイチ、暖房に変えてもなぜか冷房に戻るので結局スイッチ切りました。さて4泊目は台北に戻ってこちらのホテル、1泊目の某ホテルは約12000円だったのにこちらは9000円、安い分より悲惨かと覚悟しましたが、あれれ、失礼ながら案外ちゃんとしてました。立地こそ裏町ぽいものの外観も内装もいい感じ、何より有難かったのは室温が適切でした。しかも1〜3泊目のホテルのベッドの上掛けは寒いくせにペラペラのシーツ状のもののみ(台湾に冬はないとでも思ってるのかしら)こちらのホテルは多少厚みのあるものでした。おかげさまで最後の夜を快適に過ごせました。次回もぜひ利用したいと思っております。

整體來講都唔錯，大棠搭電梯要上兩級樓梯有啲唔方便，隔離有停車場，如果揸車都幾好👍但離捷運站有D遠

For the price it’s worthy of staying in the city business mixed residential area. Be aware of the rush hour traffic noise on the street in theTraditional Breakfast within greeting service, mostly Japanese and local frequent clients.

私は19歳で、友達と一緒に泊まりに行きました！ 朝食が無料で、親切なおじいさんがこれは豚だよ〜とか教えてくれて、優しかったです！笑 フロントの方も日本語がわかる人が大半で、おじいさんがホテルからのアクセスなどを丁寧に教えてくれました。お姉さんも笑顔で、素敵でした！ ホテルの部屋には浴槽もテレビもあり、ゆったりと過ごせました。お水もお茶もあり、日本のホテルと何も変わらなかったです！アクセスはまあまあ良く、台北の有名観光地までは何回か乗り換えが必要でしたが、最寄りの地下鉄の行天宮駅から移動しました！運賃が安く本数も多い＋夜遅くまで便があるので、不便なことはなかったです！ 初海外で台湾は素敵な場所でした‪‪☺︎‬
