“Our first visit to Taipei”
This was our first visit to Taipei and therefore my wife and I relied on the information provided by Expedia before making our hotel booking. We chose Fullerton based on its proximity to the various locations that we want to visit, the positive reviews and cost of the room. We arrived early in Taipei from NYC and were at the hotel around 9am. As check-in time was in the afternoon we left our suitcases in the hotel and went to the National Palace Museum. When we returned in the afternoon our room was ready and we were given a room on the 14th floor. Access to the floor can only be made with the access card. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We stayed two nights in the hotel and enjoyed our breakfast and our dinner at the Cantonese restaurant on 2nd floor. The quality of food and service was excellent. There are a number of small restaurants around the hotels, but did not have the opportunity to try them out. The hotel does not provide massage service, but there is a busy massage establishment providing services from foot to whole body massage not far from the hotel (turn right when you exit the hotel). This is a professional massage service. We went there on our first day in Taipei and enjoyed a one hour whole body massage. We are very pleased with the hotel and the helpful staff and would not hesitate to recommend it to others who would like to seek Taipei experience.
“Very nice hotel with great staff”
I booked this hotel as it was near my business contacts. I arrived very late and was upgraded from a deluxe room to a small suite. The hotel is an older hotel, but maintained pretty well, so the suite was kind of ackwardly laid out. I had requested a non smoking room with a king bed. The room immediately smelled of smoke residue, and the king bed was two twins put together with mat connecting the beds, which caused a big lump down the center of the bed. Within minutes my nose was stuffed from the smell of the smoke, so I requested a room change. They were there immediately to change my room to a beautiful suite on the VIP floor. NO questions asked. I had read a previous review that had a similar situation, and was resolved by the hotel also. The king bed was a "real" king...but a bit hard for my liking. The bath was older, and the shower was in the bath tub, and was squirting all over the place. A new shower head would easily fix the problem, but we survived! The breakfast buffet was good, mostly the same with one new item each day. Standard fare, eggs, potatoes, rice, partially done bacon, sausage etc. an ok omlette station, and the Fruit was really good, The dinner buffet is well known and reservations usually recommended. Overall, I enjoyed the stay, the staff very helpful and friendly. I will definitely go back there, especially if I can get the same upgrade to VIP level.
“Very helpful staff”
A quick business trip to Taiwan, the Fullerton was a great location for easy access to the rest of the city. All the staff were very helpful.
“taipei january 2010”
hotel staff was great, breakfast was quite extensive. could use some upgrades in decor. overall very good.
“Very comfortable”
I stayed in a business suite for a week. Plenty of space, and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've experienced. Staff were all helpful, and the hotel is conveniently located and surrounded by restaurants and convenience stores. Breakfast buffet has European and Asian food. My room was very clean, but the hotel has not been refurbished recently.
