I arrived at Hotel HD Palace early in the morning and was greeted by Jane the General Manager who was very friendly. Even though check in was not until 3pm, she was so kind to let me check in early before noon! It was such a relief to go into my hotel room early after a long 16 hour flight. The room is very clean, spacious and comfortable. It is very reasonably priced and the hotel is conveniently located to shopping and transportation. Thank you to Jane and her staff for making me feel welcome in Taipei!

The local is excellent near 101 tower close to the metro that can take you wherever you want What I don’t like is the location of the hotel lobby which was on the second floor.

Worst customer service ever!
The owner/manager was extremely rude on several occasions. The hotel is old and dingy. My refrigerator was broken and they didn’t believe me or address it and just told me it takes time to get cold. We were sitting in the hotels lobby area and the owner/manager was rude with us and our family visiting us. My sisters and I were talking in the breakfast area and one sister got up to use the restroom and she immediately and rudely told her she needs her coffee cup away and my sister’s response was “I’m not going yet. I’ll be back.” Then my parents came to visit and they literally followed them on camera and physically followed them up to visiting our room. It’s my belief they’re really strict on the 2 person per room policy. Worst customer service I’ve ever had at a hotel anywhere in the world. Don’t rent here. I won’t ever recommend this place or be back.

Dear FelixWhen you check-in you came back to the lobby immediately for the refrigerator, our first thought is, it takes some time to work, but when we realized your refrigerator is truly broken, we gave you a new room at second day, and our staff gave you a new 2L fresh milk to make it up for you lost. So yes, we could do better on this, we should check it again see it’s work or not.Maybe our hotel is not new, but we do clean our room every time when the rooms have been used, so…. old, maybe, but dingy? We are pretty surprised that you stayed for 4 days and told us about the other problems you have but never mention this.And when your family came to visit you, we glad you have a big family, it’s a big group of people, and our day shift staff, she didn’t know who you are, for the rights and interests of the guest, also for the safety, she asked who is the guest and room number.We offered 24 hours coffee, but it can only be enjoyed at restaurant, guests can’t take it up stairs to the rooms, she tried to do it, and we said no, that’s it.Of course every hotel have their policy for how many people can stay over night in the room, but that’s “Over Night” No matter how many family or friends want to come visiting you in your room is welcomed, no one is gonna be charged a single dollar for it, so if you mean we spy on you and your family for visiting your room at “day time”? well we got say not possible. Because, what’s the point for it?Everyday we have room check-out, so our cleaning staff they worked really really hard, and they will come up and go down among different floors, that’s their job, so maybe you and your family come up with them at same time? if this made you misunderstanding? We are sorry about that.And as staff of a hotel, no offense, but with or without you and your family, we always watch our camera, because that’s our duty to secure every floor of our hotel, we wanna know as soon as possible if there is something happened. So if this make you uncomfortable also? We apologized, but that’s our job.Sorry about you are not happy with your stay, but hope you had a good time with your family gathering.

Neighborhood is nice and quiet. The hotel needs massive repair and upgrade. Our 1st room has noisy A/C and some machine noise. So they transferred us to 2nd room that was worse—-cracked bathroom sink, A/C didnt work, wallpaper pealing, other misc things broken. So they moved us to 3rd room. Ok but still looks worn. The free breakfast was voucher for Moss Burger nearly 1/4 mile away! Not worth the US$140. More like a$70 hotel. Also both rooms had a condom in the bed drawer and you enter the hotel at bottom floor and can bypass the lobby and go directly to the rooms as elevator doesnt require keycard. …..hmmm….

Dear MichaelThanks for coming our hotel and leave the great review, our hotel maybe not new, but we had some decoration while it's Covid-19, unfortunately not every guest would cherish the rooms or things like their own stuff, like the sink, of course it’s not broken by itself, but we will do our best to repair them and keep them well, and A/C do works in every room.When it’s Covid-19 there is no business for hotel in Taiwan, maybe the whole world, even now the business is not good like before, we can’t afford it to hire a chef, but no work there for him, so it was no breakfast for a long in last 3 years, and finally the world gets cured and getting better, but if we want everything back to usual like old times, it takes time, we are not big hotel, but we are trying.We are not asking for your understanding, just inform the situation, you totally have rights to do whatever you want to do, feel what you feel. We respect it and cool with it.We changed 3 rooms for you while you stayed in our hotel, maybe we just really not your type, so please do us and yourself a favor, remind yourself we are not the hotel you like, don’t let us ruin your beautiful day again, thank you very much, have a good day also nice trips all around the world.

Price not equivalent to view promised
Book the room in order to view fireworks of Taipei 101. Was given a room with the view of Taipei 101 from the room’s toilet. Disappointed with the view in the room as hotel offered hotel stayers to go to rooftop to view the fireworks for free. I could have just booked a cheaper room instead of a guaranteed view from the room (toilet).

A conveniently Iocated, reasonably priced hotel with good sized rooms, clean, well equipped, polite and helpful staff. The only small minus would be the limited breakfast range, did not have any cereal.

Old hotel
The owner constantly yelled at her staffs (or even customers) in the lobby and restaurant area during breakfast time. The room is really old without updates for a while.

Most materials in the room were good. The staff was great. The location was convenient to the activities we were pursuing. The breakfast was okay--could've been better quality. Meanwhile, the internet was slow and inconsistent, and cleaning service ignored the "Do Not Disturb" indicator and still came into the room to clean.

Great Location and Great Service
Very convenient hotel and price is decent for the stay. Walking to MRT (10-15 min) red line and able to get anywhere to the major sites for site seeing. Red line also transfers to all other lines ( blue, brown, orange line). MRT cost only $20 NT one way to most location. But if your there for few days then best to buy a transport card ( at the station) for $100 NT ($3.00 US) and add money like $200 NT ($6.00 US) will last you several days to go to all major sites. MRT was clean and safe. Complimentary breakfast at hotel was great with lots of selection and complimentary tea and coffee with snacks available through out the day. In room coffee with electric kettle is available also along with complimentary bottle of water. Room’s wall paper isn’t smooth probably due to the humidity in Taiwan. But bed was very comfortable and we slept well. (2 twin beds). Room also came with toothbrush, comb, razor, soap, shampoo, body wash, hairdryer, slippers, robes. Service was great! Staff very helpful and attentive. Was able to leave our luggage with staff at front desk after check out until our ride came in afternoon. Second time staying here and this is definitely a place I will stay again!

Very convenient location near my office. Always clean and well maintained. Staff is very welcoming as always (I stay here frequently). Breakfast buffet has a good balance of western and local dishes. No bar on the premises, but it is right next door to Carnegies bar and restaurant.

Hotel from the outside might look old but rooms are decent and spacious in a very quiet and peaceful area. Family mart convenient store is right across the street and there’s a night market nearby that only takes 10 minutes walk

This is my 5th time visit to Taipei and this Hotel upgraded me to a suite. Wow ! How nice of them. Everything is good here, quite and walking distance to night market.

The room furniture are outdated. Carpet dirty. The room size is reasonable. This is a 2 star plus hotel. Only good thing is the location of the hotel is fairly convenient. If room price below $75USD, it;s OK. If more, I would look elsewhere

Room with a view but it’s rhe service that sets them apart. They are so friendly and willing to assist with anything. The buffet is the highlight for me since you have to be selective with street food.

An oasis for hot summer day
After a day of activities, we returned to the hotel room. This place is clean and cool. To us it is a sanctuary for us to shower and rest. We have restful sleeps. Recharged for the next day. This hotel is not fancy, but offers clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast (if offered) is nice way to start a day. We enjoyed our stay, and we will come back.

Disappointing Stay
Very disappointed with our stay. Room is not what is advertised. Its expectation vs reality fail. 37 sqm is 25 sqm room and 12 sqm bathroom. Internet cuts off intermittently. Unlimited mini bar is just bottled water and 3 small packs of chips which is replenished once consumed. Hotel lobby smells so old. Breakfast served with NO RICE! Not recommended and will never go back again!

about your review we have to do some explain. since you did the reservation and we arranged room for you, please understand that because it's new year eve night we can't do any modify for you cause every booking has been settle and kinda full. and about the smelling we didn't get any complaint from other guests, if you can just tell us immediately then we can fix out the situation directly. we really apology for your unsatisfied experiences but let us state again that everything can tell in advance then all things can be fix out, it's better than complain after but silence at first time, right?about breakfast you thought it's terrible but we just seen your family eats lots of foods, it's just makes us confused that is that really terrible from our breakfast?everyone have rights to make comments on internet but must based on the ture fact, if not, which part will disappointed? please understand that.

Staying at HD Palace was the best choice for our trip to Taipei. We'll definitely be back! The location is awesome, easy access to the airport bus, nice buffet breakfast, and outstanding staff! Great value!

HD Palace Taipei
I was a bit disappointed with the hotel on first appearances, but it grew on me. I was upgraded to a room with a Japanese bathtub, which could easily have fit seven people. The room decor is a bit outdated and rundown, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The selling point for me was the breakfast, which was far superior to the breakfast that we received at our previous hotel (eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, fruit, cereal...). However, there were signs in the elevator offering perks for giving the hotel a five star rating on various websites, which annoyed me. Overall I enjoyed my stay there.

The deluxe suite was tiny, even by Taiwanese standards. This hotel charges a lot based on their location but was really quite a letdown. We ended up upgrading to their HD palace suite which is their top room. It is average compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at in Taiwan

Good location but a bit old and tired
The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to many things. i.e. MTR, night market etc. hotel is a bit old and the maintenance needs to be kept up. There is also a strong odor when yiu girat walk in. For the price I think there might be better alternatives.

Great location, close to Taipei 101 and night mark
This wasn't our first choice when we visited Taipei, but I was surprised to find this little gem near Taipei 101. The night market was just 5 min away by foot, and the major shopping district took less than 15 min. The room has the very basic that's needed, and the breakfast offers both continental and chinese/Japanese selections. We had a very plansant stay indeed.

Good facility, convenient location, wonderful breakfast. The stairway is small and narrow and could be an issue in case of emergency.
