Nicer hotels within viewing distance of the window

Posted 24-Aug-2014
Pros: Next to I-5
The hotel is dated and needs updating to compete. We traveled for a week to 5 different hotels and this was by far the worst. The room, pool and such needs a major refresh.

stink stank stunk

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Pros: bed was comfortable, that was it!
Cons: tear down and rebuild
Location: right beside I-5 so it can be noisy
Room smelled horrible, stains on carpet, curtain, and chair. TV picture was fuzzy. 3 light bulbs were burnt out. Toilet would stay running. The hotel rear door wouldn't open with our key. For breakfast i was able to have egg crumbs and yogurt.(they were out of everything else.) This hotel is below average, I don't understand how people can give it a "good rating". Do yourself a favour and spend a little more and stay at the Holiday Inn across the street.

We value each and every one of our guests and I truly apologize that we failed to provide you the best possible service. There is no reason, nor is it acceptable, to be checked into a room that was not properly cleaned. I would like to apologize for the poor quality of food at breakfast as well. I would like to assure you that this will be addressed accordingly with our housekeeping staff to prevent this from happening in the future. Thank you for your feedback you are a valued guest and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you better service in the near future!

Needs a Makeover STAT!

Posted 16-Aug-2014
Pros: The desk staff were very courteous.
Cons: CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN - inside & out
Location: Location is close to the freeway, that's a plus. A few fast food places SUBWAY & DICKEY"S BBQ are across the street.
The Red Lion staff was very kind. Even with the accommodating staff we could not overlook the poorly cared for hotel. We changed rooms multiple times! First because food & hair were stuck to the carpet & the bathroom was filthy. The second room smelled of cigarettes, mildew & soured milk . 3rd room we took over a few others offered, it was manageable but far from even a 2 star. As we walked through the hall I had to cover my face with my sweater because of the smell. Looking out the window to the outside corridor were bird droppings and feathers everywhere. This Red Lion is in desperate need of some elbow grease, CLEANING and scrubbing. My hope would be that they close parts off at intervals & completely renovate or at very least thoroughly clean . Exercise room was in poor shape too. :o( . After a night there we could not stay another day & found a room at another hotel.

Awful hotel and customer service

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Hotel employees were very rude and took forever to get our room ready. Eventually they put us in a room that was in the corner right under water pipes so we heard water running all night.

The hotel was close to my meeting and fit my needs

Posted 5-Aug-2014
Pros: Proximity to my meeting
Cons: no comment
Location: not used
After I checked in the maids entered the room twice while I was napping. They claimed that they didn't know that I had checked-in. It was as best a minor irritation.

Double billed for moldy room

Posted 5-Aug-2014
Cons: Don't double bill the customer. Clean the bathrooms! Clean or replace the carpet.
At check-in the motel staff required a credit card even though the room was paid for on Expedia. The lobby appeared neat and clean, and the staff was polite. Upstairs the hallways smelled very bad, like musty old carpet and cigarettes. The tiles and tub were moldy and smelly. However the bedding was clean and the beds comfortable. After we checked out and left, I checked my account and found that they had billed me for the $40 incidental deposit twice in addition to billing me for the room too! I called them and complained, they promised to refund the money for both the incidental charges and for the room. I checked my account today and the charge for the room is still showing debited against my account. Travel is already very expensive without my funds being tied up like this. I took a picture of the mold growing in the shower, but I can't seem to attach the file.

Not organized

We selected a king size room and that's what we paid for , when we got to the hotel our room was given to another couple as it took 40 mins to find us another room and we got down graded for their mistake .
