Lors de notre arrivée, l'employé nous a demandé d'attendre car il regardait une émission de télévision.....Il a fini son émission et il est venu nous servir ensuite...

we have always stayed at the Parkview Hotel when going up to Syracuse to visit our daugther who attends college there. Not the best area, but we have always liked the vintage flair of the Parkview Hotel, and our initial stays there went well. The rooms are clean, and we have felt safe staying there.
However, our latest stay gave us concerns. We arrived at around 8 pm for check-in, and there was no one at the front desk: just a sign that said "will be right back, sorry for the inconvenience". Ok - no big deal. We hung out in the lobby... but 20 minutes went by, and no one was around! I called the hotel, and sure enough, the front desk rings and rings, and I get a message that tells me that my call is important, but that they are busy assisting other customers....
Then this other guest walks into the lobby from the street, and he is followed by the employee who is working the front desk. She appears surprised to see me there "how did you get in here?" she asks.... I explained that we arrived 20 minutes ago, and that we used the front entrance to come in. She then apologizes profusely for the wait.
So yeah, she was hanging out somewhere outside of the hotel, watching the front door for any guests coming in, and missed our little group....
Besides the fact that we had to wait there, this causes me concern about the safety of the guests in the hotel. Anyone could just walk inside the hotel, when the clerks are not at their posts.
Very disappointed!

We liked the Art Deco style.
The property is showing its age.

The Hotel was very nice. It had a quiant feeling and style. Loved it. Quiet and very clean.

There was no explanation of amenities. Desk agent didn’t welcome me as a valuable guest.
