Our stay at the Maplewood.

Posted 18-Apr-2014
Pros: Location and pet friendly.
Cons: Offering an included breakfast would be an added perk.
Location: Only one exit from the mall. The hotel staff recommended an excellent diner across from the mall called Stella's that we thought was excellent.
Our stay at the Maplewood was very pleasant. The location was very convenient to the Destiny Mall which was our purpose for coming. The hotel was clean and was selected because it accepted dogs. There was no smell of animals detected. We would stay there again.

Cold as outdoors

Posted 8-Apr-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: FInd away to keep the cold out of the lobby and heat the pool.
Location: There are many things near by
The only and most important complaint is that the hallways were cold and the pool water was very cold for an indoor pool. We were there for our grand daughters to have a mid winter get away with a heated pool. They were very cold going to and from the pool. We had to pass through the lobby to the elevator and the area was very cold. A clerk said that they had to wear 4 sweaters to keep warm. The hallway on our floor was also very cold and theses kids were in swimsuits to and from the pool.

Shopping Trip from Ontario Canada

Posted 6-Apr-2014
Pros: Employees at Front Desk were very friendly and helpful. Really liked the resting area of couches etc on 2nd floor. Liked the available coffee etc.
Cons: Rooms- again seemed dated, stale air. Not fresh and clean feeling. Bed covers were old and gringy . I pulled mine off the bed when I slept. Bathroom
Location: For going to Destiny Mall it was a good location. Also close to HWY 81 . Didn't go anywhere else.
We stayed here last year as well and enjoyed it better last year mainly because of our experience at the bar/restaurant. This year we had dinner there- salmon and other fish dish and it had not taste. Server was ok. The restaurant seemed dingy and stale air and an odor to it. They were out of craisin salad and something else I wanted to order. The appetizer (shrimp) wasn't tastey.

Comfortable close to city

Posted 5-Apr-2014
Pros: It appeared that the hotel was slowly being updated and things were done with respect to clean ability
Cons: The rooms were quite large and if there was the ability to create a seating area, that would really have made the room ideal.
Location: Went out to nearby restaurants in evening to eats dinner. Came back and to hotel for bed
Rooms were nice and large for a non suite room. Quiet, extremely clean, comfortable. Good value.

Hotel would not be a choice of mine next visit

Posted 1-Apr-2014
Pros: I liked that the hotel was accessible to the highway.
Cons: Front desk - customer service during check-in was not best.
Pictures of the hotel were a bit deceiving. From the pictures, it looked like it has a open layout like Embassy Suites, but not so. Rooms were dark, did not feel comfortable. The bathroom was not the best. When choosing a hotel, I believe you should have that home away from home experience, this was not it.

Great hotel for getaway weekend

Posted 23-Mar-2014
Well my boyfriend and I got there late because we drove 4 hours to Syracuse, but from the moment we stepped in the staff was extremely pleasant. I asked for a late checkout and she gave me one with no problem. They also helped me find somewhere I can eat because it was really hungry from the drive. I enjoyed Maplewood Inn!

Great!

Posted 12-Mar-2014
Pros: I liked the beds and shower a lot. It was a big room with nice space. Close to 81
Cons: The breakfast wasn't free, but Dunkin Donuts and Tim Horton's were across the street. Also there was no fridge
Nice hotel! We had a big room with two double beds, with plenty of space. Everything was clean, each bed had plenty of pillows. It had recently been renovated so it looked nice in the lobby and in the rooms. Excellent hotel at a great price! Close to the interstate and easy to get into Syracuse

Nice hotel close to Destiny USA

We always stay in this hotel. We appreciate the convenience and proximity of this hotel in relation to shopping, major transportation arteries, restaurants and sights in and around Syracuse and Liverpool, NY.

Excellent staff, convenient location

Posted 10-Mar-2014
Pros: I enjoyed the staff and how accommodating they were.
Cons: Better bedding and updated shower heads.
Location: Close to restaurants, Destiny USA mall (which has a lot of fun activities for the family), The Carrier Dome.
I enjoyed the staff at the hotel most of all. There was a sign that the hotel was undergoing renovations, but I was not effected by them. I was, however, surprised at how outdated the bedding was considering the renovations. The bed contained only a sheet and an outdated cover and was not very comfortable. The shower head was also in need of replacement. The pool was slightly scary, small, and very overcrowded. Therefore, opted out of using this amenity, which was difficult for my son to understand. The breakfast was okay, but we could have gotten more for out money at a local diner. Overall, it was a nice overnight stay but I would probably consider a different hotel next time.
